hi, Was trying to change my friends battery as thought that was the problem but once we flicked the key out there was no screw and subsequently the battery casing was missing... Can I buy a replacment or do I need a complete new unit? Thanks again
Morning Dougal. This is really common, I don't know anyone that sells them. It may be worth trying to find a key on ebay and rob the battery carrier from it
Hi, unfortunately I've not found any good quality cases anywhere. There are some that are for Fiats and are supposed to be compatible, but the insides are slightly different and the buttons are rock hard. Here's a video that shows how to replace the case using a key from eBay. It's not ideal, but it's the best I've managed to come up with ruclips.net/video/pDDi5kyTtjM/видео.html Hope it helps
@@TheCarKeyMan Ok many thanks for that. Our key at the moment will only start the car intermittently so we use the spare without the buttons. I am hoping the fob key just needs a new battery. It still opens the boot and doors but struggles to start the car.
Such a great video, straight to the point and exactly what I needed. Thanks a lot.
You’re very welcome, thanks for the feedback :)

Hi Phil. you can't get the individual part. But it might be worth picking up an old eBay key, just for the battery holder. Hope this helps :)
ive lost the bit that holds the battery. no idea when or where it happened either. any idea where i can get a replacement for that bit?

If you change the battery do you have to re-programme the key?
No, we've never needed to

Changed the battery, and it doesnt work with the Keys. Any idea?
Hi Daniel, did it work before you put the new battery in?
I was told that atleast one or 2 buttons was working, but the buttons were worn out, so i replaced Them, changed the battery and now no buttons work.
