I have old style, and just got the new one about 3 weeks ago, both are 147. Both are great. I don't think of new one as being "narrower" as a major difference, bigger change is more sidecut - so yes narrower waist, but the tip and tail are similar/slightly wider vs the old version. New one is much more fun to carve (as I hoped by the shape), and the old one "slashes slush" (or soft snowpiles) with a bit more free feeling off the back foot. Due to the sidecut into the tail, the new one isn't as loose and free feeling when surf slashing n bashing, but once used to it I've found I can anticipate this for a little extra direction change off my back foot when slashing, feels great.
Damn your reviews are good. I was considering this board, so thanks so much for the pro review!
Glad I grabbed one more of the old version before. this.
Thanks for the video angry. Just ordered a last years right now
man I'm glad i picked up an extra 2022 board now, whole reason i bought the damn thing was because it accommodates size 11 boots easy and it a ridiculously fun board. Gonna ride this thing til it explodes and just switch it out to the backup, and when that explodes Ill be pissed because no one makes boards like this it seems like. Definitely gonna try a Lumberjack to see if it will fill the void this leaves.
I have the first model. It is pretty flat and more surf board like but it can carve super deep and hold edge well. Very fun for cruising and pretty fast on flats or cat tracks. Stable and pretty good edge to edge. Also great for tail blocks cuz it sticks in the snow like a fork. Very fun👍
One of the most interesting changes for 2023
Nice bronan o Brian. Real nice bro 😎

Checking back in! Dude thanks for all the u do. Avid surfer n boarder-NOT buying a new one, love my OG SS. Will you please do a party board 23 review?
U De Man-gracias
You mean like the Top 5 I did last week?
“That’s right, this board got overhauled…..for this year 😐” lmaooooo
I’m an intermediate to advanced snowboarder at 6’2” 240 pounds. I’m looking for a playful board that will be fun in powder and just to mess around on. In your opinion at 240lbs do you think I’m wasting my time with this board? I can’t find a 151 from last year or older available anywhere so I’m limited to the 2.0. Thanks for all your reviews they are great. I look forward to your reply.
I think you want something different and bigger.
I love my Rossi Sushi 144 but its since been retired to the wall due to a totally not rad tail crack. Really interested in the slush slasher for another party board. never road one of the older models so not too sure how to compare. Size 9 boot about 145-150 after a few beers. Any size you recommend?? Pretty goofy buttery carvey style on the hill
I wouldn't go above the 47 in this.
Sounds like they designed the fun out of it. Hopefully this is like New Coke and they come out with a classic model before my old 147 dies
Don’t believe everything you hear, I currently own a 2021-22 slush slasher in 147, and had the privilege of demoing the 22/23 model he’s reviewing in 147, and let me tell you, the camber MAKES this board, without it, you’ll find yourself riding the back foot a lot more like a surfboard on snow, but with the CAMBER model, oh boy, it lets you really push off the toes on a deep toeside carve, and effortlessly into a heel side carve, great for euro carving, I rode it on a rainy day with sheet ice for runs, and slush at the bottom and it was epic, everyone has their own opinion and it definitely depends where you ride it, i highly recommend grabbing one and keeping your old 147 in the quiver, you can’t go wrong a camber slasher
Can confirm it is extremely fun. But I like carving
Great review, I have thought about buying this board for a while.
I m 175lbs , boots #10.
Do you think the 143 would work for me? I want to use this board to party boats around the park and occasional powder, mostly in California.
Little small.
Old version was my favorite board ever - stepped up to a larger size as you recommended- really disappointed by this version - feels completely different now and far less agile
Sidecut radius aside, is the K2 Special Effects now the spiritual successor to the previous SS?
No.
I'm thinking to buy the 2020 version instead of the 2023 now. Do you guys think 147cm is good if im 80kg and 173cm tall? Thanks agry for your reviews and thanks guys for your help!
Yes.
Got to ride a 22 147 slushy and it's safe to say my mind was blown. Since I can't find one of these anywhere that isn't clapped out, what's the next best thing? Just for spring slush party laps and carving lowwwww...
Salomon Dancehaul probably or maybe a Rome Service Dog.
@@AngrySnowboarder where would you place a 48 Backslash on that list. Stiffer than the old version Slasher?
@@Akmatick Not necessarily stiffer, it's got camber so it's more reactive and less loose.
Hi, do u think that capita slush slashers 2022 in size 147 for 6ft guy 185 can work good? I cannot find anywhere previous years model in 151 and I am wondering if it is worth the risk
You can do it, it's your call.
Pretty curious how the added camber changed the feel of this board. Although I’d really like to see the 2023 pow racer. I have a 2021 and i always thought a little camber would be perfect.
They changed the width and sidecut too. From what I see on paper they blew it. 🤷🏻♂️
@@jpwookie22 for good or for bad? 😅
Why you think they blew it?
@@tito_tito_gorgorito bad.
@@mattmitchell794 by changing to camber, changing the sidecut and going narrower it completely changes what was once one of the funnest volume shifted boards out there. The OG slush slashing party board is just a short board for small riders. But don’t go by what I say, go demo the old one and the new one.
I can only find a 143 in the old version. I am 5'8" about 155lb-160lb. should I snag an old 143 or 2023 model in 147?? Advice is much appreciated
Old version is a completely different board.
Would this board be good for a female of 125 lb, at 5 feet 3 inches tall? For an intermediate to advanced rider? Lots of powder terrain on my local mountain. Cheers!
There's better out there.
Would you recommend this or something else for a short fat board?
Sure.
Any chance this felt livelier and too soft because it was undersized for you? The 151 has 200 lbs at the top of the recommended weight range and you were on a 147 which they recommend maxes out at 180
Guess I should have drank some LA Miracle Weight Loss Diet that day. It's got a whole new camber profile hence you get more rebound from it. They made it narrower hence it doesn't have the same edge to edge response. When you compare it to the previous model you will see it's livelier and softer because of this.
Top 5 party board list coming soon?
UES PLEASZZZZZE
Does anyone know where to find an old Slush Slasher 151? New or Second hand?
Facebook market place in major metro areas is always the best place to look for one. Seems a lot of people want to go "party boarding" till they realize they really need to ride a popsicle stick.
Butthouse just did a review on the new board if anyone is interested. Except he rode a model from 6 years ago.😅 I thought that was worth a comment.
But it’s basically the same right?
@@AngrySnowboarder it's got the same name, so it must be? Haha
Nothing changes ever, in fact all snowboards are the same right? The name is snow board and you ride the board on snow so they must be similar.
Love Spring Break but I'm a sasquatch :(
I was about to buy this board because I tried and enjoyed it last winter, but with this video I just realized they made it narrower and with camber profile... Shit I don't know what to do now 😐
trasher the video and go snowboard
Buy last years if you can find it!
Yo Angry, I might end up getting this board. I have store credit at my local board shop and they have a couple in stock. I weight 160 lbs and I’m 5’ 11”. You think I should go 143 or 147? Is it a lot different from last years model?
It's a completely revamped board from last years. Rides entirely different. At your weight I'd get the 47.
@@AngrySnowboarder should I try to get last years model if I can find it? Go smaller than new version if I can?
Your call.
@@AngrySnowboarder right on! Thanks man!
they tried to make it similar to the party platter
I think last years sold out because of the changes.... and I got the last 147 I could find online. 😀
I just bought a 151, I’m 5’10 160 😅 do you think I should return for a smaller size?
What's your boot size?
Boot size is 10!
And looking at Burton cartel est for the bindings
probably meant actual binding size, their a large
@@gabemedellin5588 EST bindings aren't going to work on this board. That's channel only.
Made for those that never understood the original slush slasher.
BINGO!
Too narrow for a size 12 boot?
Yes.
They actually changed it lmao
Seriously! Big reason why I snagged the slush slasher from last season instead of going with this entirely new board
Completely different board than last year
