- The chocolate called and we answered! Come run along with us as we navigate the AllState Hot Chocolate 15K in Dallas, TX.
Our impressions of this race are awesome! The snacks were awesome and the only snafu noted was that they ran out of Swedish Fish (spoiler alert: those are one of my favorites). Overall the course was incredibly scenic and took me through parts of Dallas I hadn't been through before....and I grew up in that area! I'll definitely be looking at doing this one again.

Looks like a fun race. None of my local races have been anything like that. Doing a local 10k in April so I will see how that one is.
This a fun one for sure. We actually traveled about 3 hours to get to this one but it helped that my family is from this area and we had a place to stay. Good luck on your race in April!

You two really make me laugh and I really think I need to find my own 'Theresa' to run with I'm sure the miles would pass so much quicker and it would help to have someone tell me when to power up (oh yes and I did have to google Swedish Fish . . .)
You guys are just fantastic! Watching the 2 of you always makes me laugh. I think Splintz should stay away from sugared snacks.. let’s just say that her performance was candy assisted.

OMG you guys were in the corral behind mine! I wondered if you’d be there! I Iooked around but didn’t see you! This was my longest race yet and your videos kept me motivated in training. May try to do Princess weekend 2021!

Right? The video didn’t do that hill justice. It was STEEP!
I ran this last yer in April in Minnesota. It was snowing and freezing. I got there Disney early so I had to wait forever in the cold to go. Even my dipping chocolate was frozen solid when I tried to eat it. Yet here I am going, "ya, I should run it again, that was fun" haha. Maybe my post princess sign up so I don't spend money on Star Wars.
I totally support you running that race again. 😂😂😂 DO IT! 😉

Serious question. I have found that having successfully completed Marathon distance doesn't necessarily make shorter distances physically easier but they are psychologically easier, any evidence of that with this run?

The hot tub thing at the start was giant coffee cups full of brown colored playground balls (read: germs galore...hence why I didn’t delve into one). It’s supposed to be a photo op but it was more gross in theory than translated, at least to me.
You both are wrong about marshmallows.
That jacket was packable but alas there was no more room in my waist pack for it with all the camera gear and such. I’ve learned that I’m more of a donkey on these runs with all of my “accessories” versus the leaping gazelle I am in my own mind.
And you are correct. I felt worse after this one than I did after the marathon. Mentally and physically. Mentally I wasn’t in this one- I’m still exhausted. Physically my legs questioned what they had done to me to deserve such horrid treatment. I’m hoping the mental part is remedied for the Princess Half next Sunday. It’ll be hard to be in a bad mood running through my castle.

Before you head back to Disney please take 6 minutes and go to youtube and find Billy Yang Films. Watch "One Wild and Precious Life." Next keep a copy of "IF" by Kipling on your desk. Read it often.
