I was the same, trying to get out of running as a kid in school 😋 can’t wait to be a runDisney newbie next year at Princess! The Magic Kingdom Gate and the castle look so awesome to run through. I tear up just watching these recaps knowing it will be me soon. These vlogs give me so much to look forward to, thank you for sharing!
Amy Markham your comment has truly made my day! I was in your exact shoes almost 3 years ago- watching these types of vlogs and race recaps and longing for the day I could run through the Magic Kingdom gates and to the castle. I still tear up when I see it all. It all was so impossible just a few years ago but, like Fairy Godmother says, “even miracles take a little time”. I’m so excited that you’ll be joining the RunDisney family next year. It really is one of the best gifts.

I used to watch so many recap videos when I was just dreaming of running Disney races...and I STILL get choked up watching them, even though I've now participated in 3 runDisney race weekends lol!! This half was a really tough one for me, so I am SOOO looking forward to my own redemption race next year. As always, loved the video and hope to see you again soon!!

Agreed!! Part of what I love about our little runDisney community- we can be stuck in the back or sailing through at the front but as long as it's with friends it's 100% the best time. Can't wait to run with you again!

Being sick during that weekend really gave me a whole new race perspective. It was definitely one that I never intended to have but gurl we can also say we've done a half marathon with the odds against us and still we persevered.

Omg! I just found your channel, and love it. I ran the 5K princess run in Feburary of this year, with my granddaughter. My daughter ran the half marathon. I never thought that I could do it. I am 67 years old. I want to do the 10K or the half someday but don't know if I can. Watching you guys makes it look so eady but I know it is not. Congratulations on your race!

Congratulations! This video makes me think that Princess weekend doesn't seem so bad after all 😇 (in a good way, I heard that it would be crowded and lots of walkers. But I only saw runners at least till Magic Kingdom in your video! Maybe I'll run this weekend one day)
There were a lot of walkers towards the back. This is definitely one of those races that you want to submit a proof of time for so you can get to a higher corral. Theresa and I didn't stop for a character until we got to MK (with the exception of the quick selfie in front of the gates of MK). Our mile through MK was a record breaking 26 minute pace. :) It only got congested towards the end when we were walking up the slop to the overpass heading into EPCOT for the finish. It's the same course that we ran for the WDW Half in January.
That was you?! I remember seeing you on the screen with Riley and hearing your talk! That was before I knew "running in makeup". LoL :) Haha, Aladdin is my favorite movie, and I LOVE Jafar....one of my favs! This was an awesome race, the weather was perfect! Congrats on your race. :) Kari
Lol! That was me! He interviewed me at the Expo and finish line of the marathon (hence the “perfect record” comment). Glad you remembered it was me! 😂😂😂

Thanks for posting this! I really enjoyed watching it. (And OF COURSE Tara was from Georgia! As an Atlantan, that was one of my favorite parts.) We were there for the week preceding and my son and I got to cheer on my wife and daughters who did the Princess 5K before heading home. I ran the WDW Marathon this year (my first too) so I enjoyed a lot of the trek down memory lane! My son and I are doing the Star Wars races in April!

Thank you for recording and posting your race recap. I love watching and remembering all the fun things on course and the experience of running through the castle. I know I saw you early on in the race, I remember that it was dark. I have another half coming up and I know it won't be as fun as running this one was. One thing I really want to know was how long the line was for the Cinderella picture? I wanted to stop but the line was so long.
Rochelle Hoffman the line really wasn’t as long as it looked. It moved really fast. We were stopped for about 5 minutes total.

I have the Bath Half Marathon this coming (15th) Sunday. This is a big event.

I am - for once - excited about something. I have been training specifically for it over the past few weeks.
I don't know if there will be a London Marathon this year because of the Covid 19 (coronavirus) the Bath Half has come in the nick of time before the cancellations/postponements begin!

What is next on your running to-do list?
Thank you! And you’re correct- I still don’t understand the reach or effect I have on people. I don’t know that I ever will. That being said, I’m honored and humbled that people give me the time of day by watching these videos. I know at the meetups I’ve stayed until everyone that wants to say hello has had a chance to. I don’t ever want to get “too big for my britches” (do you have that phrase in the UK?). I’m just a normal person who happens to have a small creative bone in my body and maybe should have been in broadcasting in some way.
Best of luck in Bath. I was just looking through my pictures from when i visited there 5 years ago. It would be amazing to run through. Hope you edge out your friendly competition. You’ll have to let me know how it goes.

If you don’t mind me asking, how long do you run and how long do you walk? I just got to where I can run 1 minute and walk 30 seconds!
Congrats! That's a great feeling isn't it?!
For this race we did a 1 minute run to a 1 minute walk. Splints is working with a knee injury and that is about all she could handle. Onward I'm working on decreasing the walks and increasing the run. So far I'm feeling really comfortable at a 2 minute run/45 second walk.

Were there PhotoPass photographers with the characters?
Yes. They will post your pics by using your bib number. There’s also a separate case member who will take pics with your phone as well. The whole process moves really quickly.
I told you I would give my comparison. I can say I like the video better. I might say the ride was better if I had children to ride it with but I don’t.
