- Welcome back for another fun episode of DIY makeovers. Today I am focusing on projects that cost very little, but can create a big impact when making your house feel like a home. Making over mismatched second hand items with the same paint color can make them appear to be a cohesive set like ones you see in high end furniture stores. It doesn't have to cost much, but it can still look expensive. No one has to know what they looked like before or where you got them from, I won't tell if you won't ;)

I loved all the projects. The last vignette with the desk and lamp was outstanding. Twenty years ago my husband and I scouted thrift stores to make a bedroom suite. We found a dresser and bed in Salvation Army. We found two night stands in a used furniture shop. They were all the same traditional style but different finishes. We used Swiss coffee paint on all the pieces and changed the hardware. We still have them and they look great

So cute! I had a daycare in CALIFORNIA. I took on a client who brought me their newborn 10lb baby boy. I put him on the front of me and did what I needed to do. Every night I felt as though I was pregnant but it paid off!
Whenever I paint I splatter it everywhere including my self. You stay so clean I’m amazed
I love your work...The piece you refer to as a desk is actually a vanity make up table commonly used by women in the 1940's

@@DesertDIY I have a very similar piece...actually the entire bedroom suite and it was my mother's and she was married to my dad in 1942...so that's where I got my dates ... Her set was Mahogoney but it was pretty beat up so I painted it a provincial white and it looks good but I absolutely love what you did...I hope it's ok that I offered some info on this...keep up the good work!
I never had kids so I am always amazed at what a mom can do one handed while carrying that baby.❤

Corey the vintage dresser was probably a washstand. I’m so thankful you chose to be a good wife and most of all a mother. Your heart shines out of you. I think the green coffee table is my favorite. Such a unique custom color and the shape of the legs just really drew me in. But also the desk collection is beautiful. So many great tips here, Cory, thanks!

I’m a big fan of the “oops” paint section! I’ve learned from you to mix paints as well :) When I’m on a tight tight budget I purchase paints from that section that could be mixed together to create a new color. Just finished a project where I combined green, blue, white, and black to make a dreamy green- all paints I’ve gathered from the oops section.
