Yeah he used to be a big part of the meta back in the day. Lots of people ran Harrison to destroy the weapon. Even still, he generally only attacked three or four times before either dying or overwhelming the opponent.
@@bird3713 Harrison to destroy 3-8 weapon to draw 7-8 cards is not the best play 99% times. just use ooze maybe?
@@keremsaydere You would generally time it. On average you'd draw 5-6 cards, and depending on the matchup, it was sometimes worth it to overdraw.

If the opponent was a mage or a rogue, that Jaraxxus would probably have been skipped!

I played a highlander galakrond rogue mirror, discovered jaraxxus, played, opponent used zeohrys, didn't pick sac pact. I won. I had to share this lol

Really shows Jaraxxus' state in the current meta. Even if he was a 5 mana card, you're taking a risk playing him.

Yep hex could be used in this way in some really fringe cases. That's why it's one of the best design cards.
I've been trying and racking my brain to make Jaraxxus viable in standard, but he's just too slow, and usually the turn you play him, you immediately die. Very sad for the original Hero.

I can see why this would be his favorite game in a long time, but it is funny he had to give himself a pretty large handicap to make it has strategy-dependant to make it exciting. Sort of speaks to his talent/familiarity with the game and the sort of routine thought processes that manifest is normal play.
That was a fun one to watch as well :)

The frogs did save you, but they didnt have Awaken until the last turn. Not trying to downplay it, it was a really good play, but I just wanted other people to know too lol
That Jaraxxus was clearly BM. You only summoned 2 Infernals, but it was against Galakrond Face Warrior so all is forgiven

Is there any chance that Jaraxxus ever makes it back into relevance? I keep wanting to craft it cuz it was one of my favorite cards to watch people play back in the day but now I feel like it's way too slow

Its not worth it anymore sadly , I think they should make him cost 8* so you can at least hero power the turn you throw it.

He would have died to Leeroy on the previous turn if he hadn't played Hex.
He obviously didn't have Awaken on the turn after Kibler Hexed his own minions, because by itself it would've been lethal (kill the frogs and Invoke for 3 attack, Kibler is at 3 hp). And without the frogs, Ritual Chopper (which he did have) would've been lethal anyway.

Would jeraxus see play if his weapon was lifesteal?
Most likely no
Jaraxxus hasn't been a card people play for a long time because he doesn't do enough and what he does is worse than any quest, other hero or general gameplan Warlock has to offer.
Basically they would have to scrap the mentality of hero characters being a thing all together which I don't think anyone would ever want.
Oh and also Zephyrus is a thing and he can get you Sacrificial Pact.
It would definitely make him more viable, but probably still not good enough. Good enough for fun tho maybe

When did Risky Skipper become a pirate? More importantly, why wasn't Risky Skipper always a pirate?
In a patch on Feb 6th and she was always meant to be a pirate they just forgot to add the tag originally.
I've had that option before but didn't do it because I thought it would put my health to 5 because of the Bandersmosh. The text is rather ambiguous.
Jaraxxus's text should be changed a long time ago. It's one of the oldest hearthstone inconsistencies
It used to be that Jaraxxus into Potion of Polymorph could turn your hero into a one-health sheep
