  • Tripoli, March 1976.
ITN News interview with Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, the leader of Libya, on the allegation that he was a supporter of terrorism.
He denied giving sanctuary to Carlos The Jackal but expressed support for the struggle for freedom by groups including the Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA).
He criticised the West for being against the rights of the Palestinian people who were "right" to take up arms.

Started reading his "Green Book". He makes some interesting points in his book as he did here:
    1. If a group of people say they no longer want to be a nation state, is there a legal framework in local and international politics to do so. (if there is please let me know, I would love to here about it)
    2. If there is no legal framework then violence will seem to be the only resort. Law, is the main reason why disputes between two resolute parties do not end in violence. The irony is, violence is often needed to enforce laws. In the absence of laws, you condemn the area of secession to violence and propaganda. Under this conditions, military support to a secessionist group is necessary and cannot be classified as terrorism.
    3. Shame that innocent people will have to die in the violence (my 2nd point is mute if there is legal framework for secession)

Mr Fuller’s Code book has the word ‘violence’ defined as unjust harm so by that definition Gadaffi should have said violence is never justified but self defense or counter violence is
