The coolest thing about Batman's rogues gallery is that they are(almost all) all anthropomorphical personifications of his psyche, aspects of his personality taken to the extreme: -Joker: His madness and mental instability. -Scarecrow: His use of fear. -Killer Croc and Man Bat: His fear on giving in onto his animalistic purposes. -Ra's Al Ghul: His misguided well intentioned extremism. -Two-Face: His double identity. -Ventriloquist & Scarface: His fictional persona overshadowing the real one. -Mr. Freeze: His inability to reach to others due to his tragedy. -Batman who Laughs, Dark Knights, Owlman, Wrath, Prometheus: Batman without his moral codes. -Penguin, Hush, Victor Zsasz, Black Mask and Master Bruce: Bruce Wayne without his moral compass. -Hugo Strange: His desire to comprehend the minds of criminals and being mentally affected because of his career. -Poison Ivy: His desire to be a guardian over a purified entity.
That is a very interesting analysis of his enemies. There is a theorist called Chris Vogler that discusses a similar topic for heroes in general. Clayface represents the difficulty of keeping his secret identity and normal life seperate and how he sees batman as his true self and bruce wayne as the facade Bane is a representation of how batman will use questionable methods and push himself to his limits, learning every form of fighting he can and exercising to become as strong as possible in order to be able to fight crime. Bane takes it even farther than batman and is a formidable combatant, making him a perfect representation of how batman could have become if his grief and drive for revenge consumed him. He is even more so in the dark knight series, as they were both trained by Ra's Al Ghul (although it could be in the comics as well, im not sure)

Catwoman isn't much of a villain. True, she has broken the law numerous times and some other bad things. But literally, the rest of the rogues are worst than her. She had to do what she had to to survive. Selina's Catwoman persona made her feel powerful and helped her get ahead in the world. The only times she committed murder were not too heinous. She'd never kill innocent people. And deep down, she is a good person. Not to mention she was - IS - in love with Bruce. Remember, Selina deserves the benefit of the doubt. She had a rough life. Legally, she is a criminal, but the world is not black and white. The whole theme of her character is morally gray. Bruce may see the world as black and white (right and wrong), but she proves that sometimes, that world doesn't work like that.

I just wish the Killer Moth was a better villain than he was written as. He's literally the 3rd evil reflection of Batman in his rogues, alongside Prometheus and Owlman, yet he's been turned into a joke character. Catwoman is NOT A VILLIAN! She might've started as one but she has since evolved into an anti-heroine and an ally of Batman. I don't understand how so many people still have her as a villain. She is a criminal (so is Batman for that matter as he operates outside of the law and breaks many codes) but she has a moral heart and does a lot of good that outweighs the bit of bad she does. Harley and Ivy are also much more complex than just villains. Harley is also a kind of anti-hero and Ivy on occasion has done some good, but she is more selfish than her friend. You missed a key villain in Talia, she is as iconic as her father and a critical part of Batman's story. The Penguin is also interesting in that he is a bad guy, but he is allowed to work on the streets as Batman's informant so their relationship is quite complex. Good video nonetheless. The only one I really feel shouldn't be in the rouges galley is Selina Kyle/Catwoman, she is going to be married to Bruce this year in the comics. So I would consider her part of his Bat-Family now.

Michelle pfeiffer excels this charactarisation to the extend. she knows that catwoman is netarul and knows that they are not meant to be together.

Catwoman is NOT A VILLIAN! She might've started as one but she has since evolved into an anti-heroine and an ally of Batman. I don't understand how so many people still have her as a villain. She is a criminal (so is Batman for that matter as he operates outside of the law and breaks many codes) but she has a moral heart and does a lot of good that outweighs the bit of bad she does.
Harley and Ivy are also much more complex than just villains. Harley is also a kind of anti-hero and Ivy on occasion has done some good, but she is more selfish than her friend. You missed a key villain in Talia, she is as iconic as her father and a critical part of Batman's story. The Penguin is also interesting in that he is a bad guy, but he is allowed to work on the streets as Batman's informant so their relationship is quite complex. Good video nonetheless. The only one I really feel shouldn't be in the rouges galley is Selina Kyle/Catwoman, she is going to be married to Bruce this year in the comics. So I would consider her part of his Bat-Family now.
