3:44:08 the funniest thing is, the actual diary doesn't have a physical form, so both are just renditions of different games

The CN 4.8 drama is equivalent to the "drama" of someone's beef on twitter with 18 likes

As someone who loves WuWa sadly I don't have that much time daily to play it as much and do everything that the game offers because it an open world game. Also because I play other gacha games like Solo Leveling and ZZZ

3:45:00 I think most people were saying that the only problem regarding the representation is the skin tone. Because just like with CN opera Genshin had other good and relatively abscure points of representation in other regions.

    My honest opinion (and rant):
The boycott thing is VERY hypocritical because WHY NOW. Why not do that to FGO which had Quetzal be a blonde chick, or even better, Attila the Hun as a black chick. Seriously, if people cared so much about FICTIONAL representation, you would at least see that go all over. Anime culture is filled with it (and in both ways), but somehow Genshin is the only one guilty about it? Tourist is really an appropriate word for those that agree to the boycott.
Another reason is it's very racist in of itself to attach skin color to culture. Culture is never attached to skin color. Imagine being a black person born in white culture, but is not allowed to participate in said culture because he's black (and vice versa). Even more so when we are talking about FICTIONAL settings where people want to attach their personal preferences in things they create. Creative integrity SHOULD NOT bow down to diversity. Unless the creation is said to be representative of real life, FICTIONAL works should not be a target over this stupid movement. Best go to AC Shadows. That one is VERY guilty of it.
"But Genshin is global so people will think the people made in this culture is representative of said people" - insert Hoyo standard CS reply. It's FICTION. My god, it's like arguing with a Karen who thinks violent video games make violent people. It's not the duty of entertainment to EDUCATE, it's the duty for those around the person (parents mostly) and those that are experts in educating. People should also stop thinking games are educational in nature.
That is my piece of rant after seeing MULTIPLE CCs fall into the bait of "it's an ok reason to boycott" and not thinking about the consequences of falling into it, spreading this lukewarm reception on the boycott. This boycott should not even be entertained.

Well put, I agree with pretty much everyrthing, also I kinda blocked like 80% of CC's for the gacha space because I'm tired of watching 30+ year old children

I agree that these are works of fiction, and that honestly this isn't really worth getting mad over. At the same time, I acknowledge that I'm not part of these cultures and I recognize that there are very clear references to both South American and African cultures. I think it's fair to say that the reason why FGO did not receive a similar backlash it's because the audience didn't care. But, they're not the same as the Genshin fan base.
At the end of the day my thoughts are that a game is meant for its fans more than the developers. If this is the will of the audience they've garnered, then there's some significance to it. That all said, I do think this is simply a cheap ploy to simply virtue signal and farm engagement.
