What is Journey of Stars?
Journey of Stars is my attempt at creating an atmospheric, video game style sci-fi soundtrack inspired primarily by an incredible composer by the name of Amos Roddy and the music he created for games such as “Citizen Sleeper” and “In Other Waters”. My hope is that each track from Journey of Stars will capture a certain atmosphere, emotion, or experience that one might see in a sci-fi story or video game. I’m also hoping that the tracks will feel distinct in their feeling and character while also staying thematically connected and ultimately feeling like part of a larger story told through music.
In essence, I'm trying to create a soundtrack that does what many great video game soundtracks already do; make beautiful music that tells a story and enhances the viewer's experience!
This soundtrack is my first attempt at creating this style/genre of music and a practice in creating music digitally. As of right now I'm using BandLab to create these tracks although I may start using other DAWs in the near future as well.

About This Track (“Your Journey Begins”):
If Journey of Stars is a hypothetical videogame, then “Your Journey Begins” is the hypothetical main theme of this game’s soundtrack! I wanted this piece to convey a feeling that the player/listener is about to embark on a difficult journey but remains hopeful and determined in the face of upcoming challenges.
Although those are the feelings I had in mind, I also wanted the track to have some emotional ambiguity so that each listener could hear their own story from the music. As far as the production goes, I created the track in BandLab and ended up having about 11 distinct instruments/tracks in the final version of the piece. I composed the piece in F Minor and this recording played at 82 BPM.
