The type of ammunition, due to the years when the anime was aired, it’s for sure a .357 Magnum, bullet the only one tat can easily pierce a vehicle and a bulletproof vest. In 2018, many years after the anime, was designed the .429DE by Magnum, specifically for the Desert Eagle, such type of cartridge features a 25% increase in velocity and 45% increase of energy over a standard 240-grain, .44 Magnum load. So yes there’s a type of ammunition that is compatible with our assumptions but, the Speer 240 grain bullet was introduced only in 2018.
