The way I fangirled until I broke a sweat last night!!!! Nobody does it better than New Edition. NE4LIFE! And yes...that mashup of "Is This The End" and "Please Don't Go Girl" was so unexpected, but so perfect. The mashup I didn't know I needed until I got it.
I was shook when they did that mash up bc I love both songs 😭

@@kdavis002 TOTALLY and I've been saying that for years. (Even though Please Don't Go is probably the only New Kids' song I ever liked, lol.) Hearing them together was an epic moment, and maybe even a little nod & a wink to how it was a copy. (Most of that first NK album was)

Only a blockhead would understand when you said will jonathan do it. I had already watched this and when you said that I said oh yeah he does. So happy he sang step 5. Im Army but new kids were my band back in the day so im a true blockhead . It was good to see all the other artist give respect and rock out to both bands.

I quit watching award shows after MJ passed cause I felt like music died with him, but I did see this...It's good to see my boys New Edition reunited...and the King Bobby Brown is sounding good...gotta give these legends their flowers while they are here

Had to smile big when you said "Is Jon going to do it?" because true Blockheads know Jon doesn't always sing Step 5, especially on TV. As a Jon girl, I always get butterflies when he sing solo, even on Step 5. Love seeing JoJo singing along with her fellow B-town groups.
We ran into Jonathan at a Richdales convenience store at like, 2am once. Thank God I was too stoned to humiliate myself.
I grew up with New Kids On The Block growing up in the 80's in Boston and got to spend some time with them when my sister was dating Danny during their young days and beginning of their careers. Thanks to my sister and Danny, I got to attend 7 free concerts of theirs. All these videos brings back so many memories

"Aged Out". I feel you. Although I am(kind of) a fan of BTS. Not so much their new more Americanized music though. But have seen both these groups in concert and seeing them together would be Epic

Me too. that's the only reason I watched the AMAs, which I had not watched in years. After they go through, I turned the station. I'm still rewatching that epic performance on RUclips. I'm sure they both got new fans from this.

@@mutantx2372 not as far as the New Kids website shows. They only show En Vogue, Salt n Pepa and Rick Astley. New Edition is touring next year but I think they are on their own and New Edition is also doing a Vegas residency. Big things happening for all the boys from Boston and 2022 is going to be an awesome year

Everyone looked great! Sounded great!! The energy they brought to the AMAs was amazing!!! I completely fangirled the whole time! I screamed, sang and danced as if I was actually at a concert. And, the respect NKOTB has for NE is so endearing. Your reaction to the mashup was awesome! I literally had the same type of reaction. Whew!!! An amazing trip down memory lane.

Dude….this was the BEST vid I’ve watched all day! I am a HUGE New Edition and even huger NKOTB fan. You knowing every word, along with the dance moves, is so freaking awesome! We need to be best friends! I was totally flipping out over this awesome performance… It will go down in history as one of the best collabs ever. Loved every last second of this video! Great job!!

These 2 were my all time FAVORITE boy bands! New Edition came out when I was in Jr high school and NKOTB came when I was a freshman. I would absolutely LOVE to see them in co cert together! That would be phenomonal! This performance confirms that for me. This brought me back to a teenager. I am now almost 52. Most of them are around my age and older. This amazes me how they can still do THIS! Great reaction, Dennis! 👏👏👏

I am so so honored to be alive and see the boy band setting not only their own internal differences aside but also from boy band to boy band and music genre (RNB, Pop etc) to do a collaboration in the name of music, the fans and unity.

I saw New Edition in 96 too..but i must have caught the beginning of the tour because they were all there. New Kids was my first concert I was 12..This was amazing..Was cool to see someone else as excited as I was for this
YES! It was one of the best highlight at the American Music Awards! They definitely exceeded my high expectations. I never would have imagined to witness two legendary former boy bands reunited on one stage. They brought the house down! I am hoping that New Edition and New Kids On The Block will do a "joint tour" together. It would be tremendous!

OK this is a reaction I didn't know I needed in my life! And thanks for the intro, because while a total NE fan, I kept wondering why they were singing more than NKOTB. However, I think your video has more than the one I originally saw. And the love they showed one another throughout, and especially at the end, was priceless. Respect is a big thing. And when they all sang together, my little heart did a happy dance. That was EVERYTHING!!! I don't need to see another reaction after watching you!!! Been a big fan of New Edition for years now since I was 11, so happy the group is back.
The nostalgia of this is out of this world. They need to be in a halftime show together. Or go on tour together. I would so be there!

I saw NE the last tour they had I think it was 2012 after Whitney passed and we didn't think Bobby would be there it was wonderful all 6 members

I just adore you! I am from Dorchester and my mom is from Roxbury. She grew up with some New Editions parents. I grew up when both came out filling me with too much Boston pride. I got hyped just watching you watch them!

The NKOTB 2022 tour is called the mixtape 2 tour and it’s them with Salt n Peppa, En Vogue and Rick Astley. The 2019 tour had Sakt n Pepa, Tiffany, Debbie Gibson, and Naughty by Nature. OMG at ALL of the fun that was had at the 2019 tour so I can imagine the one this year will be just as awesome!

Yooo, this performance was f’ing fire bro. I enjoyed your reaction to this. I know a NE fan when I hear one. I’m more of a NE fan than a NKOTB fan but I love NKOTB and they killed it as well. As a NE fan, I’ve always wanted to see Bobby perform the routines to the NE Heartbreak songs. I love that they actually re-recorded their songs for this performance. Awesome performance and yes they rocked the house. Me and my 18 year old daughter were dancing and had such a great time. We have been to the last 2 NKOTB tours mixtape 2019 and we saw them in Maryland in 2021 they were awesome. We already have tickets to see NKOTB in Nashville in 2022 can’t wait. I would love if they did a tour NKOTB and New Edition that would be awesome to see. Also a huge Bobby brown fan from the 80’s lol

I only watched this music awards show because of Silk Sonic but when they said they were having the Boston battle i had to watch the whole show, they were so fantastic and your right, Ralph Tresvant and Anderson do sound a lot a like. They said they were gonna be touring next year, 2022, they sure did sound soooooooo good. They should do more of this on these music shows. I still have the first cassette that I bought of Ralph Tresvant after they all split up. I'm so glad you covered this part of the show. Tresvant still looks really good. THANKS SO MUCH FOR COVERING THIS PART OF THE SHOW

I absolutely loved this. Singing and dancing like I'm not gonna be sore in the morning. I dont know this guy but our enthusiasm was the same. LOL! New Edition is coming to Vegas next year for their residency and I can't wait. I would love to see these two groups tour together. So much fun!

Your spirit is so wonderful and you’re so full of life I fully enjoyed your reaction. Although I’m already a fan of them You actually made me appreciate them even more. It’s crazy how close the neighborhoods are when both of these groups were growing up. They’re in a three miles radius as both Roxbury and Dorchester are just Boston neighborhoods that are next to each other. You can literally drive 4 miles in each direction from one of the neighborhoods and end up in the other.
I just came across your reaction to this watching it was awesome. Incase you dont know and are into the boy band's a bunch of members of new edition, nkotb, nysnc, boys 2 men, 98 degrees and others are coming together on December 6th at 8pm est on abc to do a Christmas concert with christmas songs and some of their songs on stage together.

I just had to subscribe to u my friend we were the same during this whole mash up... Also yes I shed some tears seeing this finally happen & with the mash up of plz don't go girl I was loosing it I know a lot of young kids like our old music 🎶 lol but believe me u had to actually be born in these times for this night to be special they all looked & sounded amazing & they NEVER miss a damn beat taking this ride with u was fun & the nostalgia was just to much to handle lol!!

FyI.......NKOTB were created to be the Caucasian version of New Edition. Maurice Starr managed N.E. the after he was fired, he created NKOTB and molded them after New Edition. He said that had NE been a white band they would have had more success like NKOTB. They performed amazing together. I hope they do a tour together or a few shows to see how things go.

I seen New Edition Heartbreak tour in 1987 in their prime they couldn’t be touch, I also Love NKOTB when they first came out they were played on the black stations everyone thought they were black
Go back a ways. The Temptations taught them everything they did on that stage. Oh, and most of Motown, too.
