LOST is a great show to rewatch once the series is over. You notice things that you didn't the first time. For example; In the Pilot episode, The first time we see Kate she is rubbing her wrists. She just took off the handcuffs.
I've seen it like 6 times, and only now watching this video noticed something I've never noticed before: when Jack tells Kate, "if you see or hear anything, run", Kate throws a subtle smile, as if saying "oh, running is definitely my thing".
These first two episodes together make what is imo one of the best tv pilots ever easily!! And the crazy thing is we're only just getting started with how great and crazy this show gets!! Also glad you pointed out the music because this show has one of the most standpoint scores of any TV show. The composer for LOST has gone on to score a ton of movies including Ratatouille, Up, The Incredibles, The Batman and many many more
Shannon fails to translate a sentence from the French message. A sentence containing an important element in the rest of the show. As a French person, the original English version of the French message gives this extra clue. But the French version of the show means that the message is in German, which completely negates this advantage for the French audience watching the French version. 😂 "Guys, where are we ?" My answer : "in the best tv show ever".
I missed commenting on the previous episode but welcome to my fiance's most favourite show in the world. He loves it so much he does the fan rewatch (won't spoil what it is yet). I bought him a few years ago all of the original release figures and dioramas. And in 2015 I made him a custom vinyl with his favourite soundtrack. At the time a Lost vinyl didn't exist so he either had the only one in existence or one of few ones (fun fact lol). They then released one a few years ago. But mine was a special picture one 😅 He thinks the ending is perfect. A lot of people just don't understand it and think it's something else.
I'm always happy when I see new people reacting to this awesome show. I had seen trailers to this show in the summertime and I knew I wanted to watch it.
Of your recent and current shows you watch, I've only followed Buffy and Angel. So It's nice that you started on Lost after Buffy, because I love Lost, and I enjoy your reactions. This is gonna be fun! And all sorts of other emotional experiences..

I didn't watch the series when it first came out and I don't watch it the way I watch BtVS, so I don't know it well (with this show I think that works better, considering all the mystery). My question is: did this and the first episodes air together the first time or were they seperate? I cannot remember through my memories of trailers and promos.
FWIW, 9/11 was still very fresh in Americans' minds when this aired, and reactions to Sayid reflect the specific brand of Islamophobic attitudes from that time period.
You should keep a checklist of all the mysteries and then grade them on how satisfying the ultimate explanations are when (or if!) they are ever resolved.
This is the essential debate in the fandom isn't it? I think it also is the issue that divides the fandom between loving the finale and hating it. Did you watch more for the characters or for the mysteries? I loved the mysteries, but loved the characters more. So, I'm team "loved the finale."
@@kuhpunkt How is it distracting? You can still watch and enjoy the show for the story and characters. A lot of the mysteries were resolved quite well too. Some weren't.🧐

I loved a lot of the character drama and twisty turny fleshing out of their backgrounds, the relationships, etc. But the mysteries were half of the draw and what got people talking back when it aired first. It's good to keep track of them. Some just get completely and annoyingly overlooked and left hanging.

Yeah, the composer is Michael Giacchino, he is amazing but what he did with Lost (he worked on it for the 6 seasons) is absolutely incredible
At the time, this was the most expensive television pilot episode ever created. LOST hit hard and never lets up!! Enjoy the journey that is LOST.

I don't think that's a good idea. It just distracts from what the show actually is - a story, not a list of questions.
