    Dear Darko, I have been coming back to your channel for many years. Great advice, thank you! I have just recently bought an LG G3 55 tv. I am in general quite happy with it, it is my first OLED. However I am experiencing quite some crushed blacks which I haven't so far managed to correct. Do your guides (pdf) by any chance tackle this issue? Thank you.

    Great video, im applying some of these settings but i dont seem to have "OLED picel brightness" to add to quick settings. I can add others like OLED panel care. I dont even see that in the list. Im also running version 3.20.17.

    • @TVguyDarko

      No difference in that case. No soap opera effect and no increase of motion resolution.

      @ryandavid4840 Год назад

      I noticed when I have True Motion turned off but Real Cinema turned on I still get a slight soap opera effect. When I turn Real Cinema off the movie looks more natural. What is real cinema actually doing to the video and why is it causing motion smoothing?

    • @michaelmonstar4276
      @michaelmonstar4276 10 месяцев назад

      @@ryandavid4840 In my view it's just a more subtle version of it, which WOULD allow the "cinematic effect" of 24fps to persists. But to my disappointment, it doesn't work like that and, as you saw, it indeed still gives that weird "inserted frame" effect, making it just a bit too slick. - I had hoped it would be just a smoother, less flicker-y or strobe-y 24fps, but it just looks vomit-inducing yet again. - Then off it is.

    I bought the C3 two days ago and DV looks significantly darker compared to my older C1, or even my CX. Try playing “Ozark” and then you’ll see that Marty’s face looks so dark you can’t even see details on the right side of his face when he’s taking to the clients (first episode). And the clients also look really dark. I’ve made sure all the power saving settings are off, and all the extra settings to “brighten” the picture are on and nothing. Same result. So frustrating. Any one else has noticed something similar?

    Hey Darko, I’m looking at the lg C3 65 in…… When I got the CX your video was very very detailed. It went through every setting, advising what to set them at. This video is great but it doesn’t walk you through a complete set up like it did on the 18 minute long CX video. Do the guide you sell actually recommend all the values?

    • @TVguyDarko
      @TVguyDarko  3 месяца назад

      Hey Simon - yes, I've changed the approach for settings videos based on all the comments I was getting so you get the basic tips there and then if you want more advices and to support my channel, you can get the PDF guides. Is there any particular setting you need support with?

    • @simonmccue802
      @simonmccue802 3 месяца назад

      Thank you for the reply Darko.
      No. I don’t particularly need help with a certain setting, I was just so impressed with the CX video that I was trying to find a walk through video with the same detail. It was a complete set up guide for idiots, even advising the values for contracts, brightness, colour temperature everything! I still use those very setting today! After using your setting on my cx it stopped me from constantly fiddling with my setting. I ideally want a replication of that very idiots proof video for my next tv whether it be the c3 or even c4.

    I'm looking for a 4k eye-friendly TV. Can you adjust the LG C3 to be eye-friendly? I read that OLED TVs can get really bright, to the extent that it hurts your eyes.

    • @TVguyDarko
      @TVguyDarko  3 месяца назад

      Sure, you can adjust backlight on OLED TVs to get them to the comfortable luminance levels. Besides, LG OLEDs have several "eye friendly" certificates - detail from their website: They've been certified as low-blue light, flicker-free, and discomfort glare-free displays by international agencies TÜV rheinland (TUV) and underwriter laboratories (UL).
      In general C3 OLED is one of the best choices out there not only for eye-friendly requirements, but for picture and gaming options as well.

    Match frame rate on the Apple TV with my b3 seems to cause problems when watching certain movies that I assume switch frame rates during the movie. I get hiccups in play. Turning off match frame rate and it stopped the issue so far. Anyone else notice this?

    LOL I thought the B3 models were supposed to be entry level OLED but the 55" costs €1,700. You would think with OLED technology being 10 years old it would be affordable by now. I know its far cheaper than it used to be but its still too expensive for most

      I recently bought a C3 55“ for „just“ 1550€. How can someone charge more for a B3?

    • @michaelmonstar4276
      @michaelmonstar4276 10 месяцев назад

      They're still NEW panels. It's not about "how new/old is the technology", they bring out an improved one every time and if you would've had a 55" OLED panel 10 years ago it would've been more like 17.000 Euros. - These are all great and latest tech, so you're gonna pay for it. - But perhaps you also need to find better prices, cause while LG themselves ask for like 3300 for a G3 on their own shop, I got it for almost a thousand less. Maybe you just saw a high price for the B3.

    Are we expected to set different picture settings for every content or once set does it self detect? Seems to me that this industry has too many standards and the user is left not really knowing what he is watching. TV should be TV.. If the industry wants to use different technologies fine but they should be automatically detected and set accordingly as most of this (IMO) is beyond the average user. In the end the User wants the best experience and the technology shouldn’t get in the way - Whats with all the picture standards/settings and the Audio on top it has become a minefield of jargon. Just my ten pennies.

    • @TVguyDarko
      @TVguyDarko  4 месяца назад

      Well put! TV will automatically detect the signal type (SDR or HDR) and switch to the appropriate picture mode. Then you need to select the Picture mode you want (e.g. Filmmaker mode) and that mode will remain active every time this type of content appears. But still, TVs today have way too many picture options and they keep confusing everyone.
