I joined an organisation which is into card payments. unfortunately, nobody in the organisation helped me with the payments basics. your videos are helpful ❤
CSM will come in to the picture incase of ordering party and counterparty are from different banks right If the ordering and counterparty are from same bank there will be no csm right Is my understanding correct??
Sir,I have a doubt...when we make payment money is debited instantly from account and credited to merchant account.whose account is debited now..acquirer or customer..if it is customer how settlement and clearing process works here
It’s the same process as explained in the video. Merchant account is set up on acquiring side. Card members ( or customers ) account gets debited when a purchase transaction is made
When C makes 100 USD payment to M, until settlement what happens with the amount 100 USD? C will see his card' account debited, nevertheless according to you, until settlement the amount will not be transferred to M'bank account...... So, at the moment when C pays, 100 USD are on hold on C' account or real time debited from C' account (in this case where are kept 100 USD until settlement time)? Thanks!
in case of a debit card transaction there is already pre authorisation by issuer so there is not much delay but with credit cards the credit or debit is seen post settlement which at times is done in batches
This is one of the clearest tutorial on clearance and settlement that I've seen. You're a very good teacher, thanks for the video!
