    Excellent talk. Thanks for posting!
The part about the challenges the organization faces in encouraging employee ownership in other parts of the world was fascinating.

I wish more people knew about mondragon. I live in UK and everyone thinks actually successful cooperatives are limited to coffee shops. We have the big cooperative bank but it's not a co op in any meaningful senss

IF Americans desire to survive, much less compete and cooperate in the global business climate, WE MUST ADOPT THIS type of organization wholesale. As our own too.

All you need is a government (the only legal body allowed to make and amend laws) who is not a slave to corporate and banking interests and will enact laws to transfer ownership from shareholders to the workers. 1 man businesses aren't affected, but the likes of Microsoft, Google, Amazon, etc., etc. would, same for financial institutions such as banks. There is only really a need for one company to provide financial services, and stock markets would no longer be required (not that they are now) and Financial services would be highly regulated by law, just in case the workers try and get too greedy and emulate today's financial industry.

In the WE Network we start with each location having one landowner that will donate 10 acres to trust if location is successful. Then the landowner gets a board to sit equally on with the department heads. Our head department are the elements, Raws materials are obtained using 2. Earth for our forest gardens and Air for our Ecojunk. Water is the community of artisans that are invited to join and start a community supported shop. Fire is for our spiritual connection to each other.

@@chrismackin5497 Can you tell Fred to watch a recording of his speech so he can see how bad his stumbling around looks when giving a speech? Dear god, it's the worst I've ever seen in a speech, and I've seen lots. If he wants to be taken seriously as a speaker and not distract from the ideas he's sharing, he really needs to learn to stand still. I'm sure there's a Toastmasters club in his area--it'd sort him out.

It's not rude, it's true. His delivery detracts from an otherwise important message. A few hours of training would drastically improve things.
"Rude," heh. I'd love for you to experience some of the shit I deal with from people. You'd redefine your idea of "rude."
Professionals can handle feedback, and even want it, and don't melt down if it isn't delivered with ponies and rainbows. People are suffering and messages like this his need to be taken seriously. That includes delivery. That's why people prepare for speeches.
