I think the more space we have, the more clutter we acquire. When I lived in a 2500 sq ft home, of course I had more stuff. Now I’m in a small one bedroom apartment, and I have so much less. Very happy here with less stuff. Only things I need and love. ❤
I have come to the same conclusion. I think accumulation of clutter - and other things, like traffic, body weight, illness - can't be blamed on either society OR the individual; it is caused by a dynamic between consumerism and our natural tendencies. It feels intuitive to DO something, MAKE things happen, and say YES please, which means aquire stuff, work harder, try to impress, keep up appearances, but today, it's become more important to PREVENT things from happening, which means saying NO THANKS, and LET GO of so many things, and that's really really hard. Oh, and hi from Norway!
I totally agree with what you said about clutter, we accrue so much over the years & don't always go through or can even stop seeing the things we have or how much we own - In my experience owning less & simplifying generally makes me feel so much better 👍😊
This year I've had a brutal clear out of the wardrobe (closet), in the small room. The clothes in there were just forgotten. So I got some bin bags and gave it to the charity. Also my niece moved into the little room and it produced a lot of clutter so I got rid. Some of the clutter I put into my room and it kept getting in the way. I felt it was testing my patience. So the clear out is still continuing, but I'm glad and relieved it has gone for good.

0:04 Yes, that's called consumerism, it's a mainstream program. Cut out the tv, radio, all news and social media and you'll stop the programming* *Well, reduce it significantly, at least.
Babies do not need bottles. Reduce a lot of clutter right there. Marketing does try to convince parents that they Need many more items than they actually do need.

Yes! I think social media is a huge cause of consumerism for a lot of people.
Yes . I would like to see a video on the impact of clutter video.o
Awesome, Lynn! I’m planning to have one out next Saturday 😊
Clutter is like having a roommate that takes up space but doesn't contribute to the rent.
For sure!
Hi from INDIA
Hello, thank you Sunitha!
Swedish death cleaning 👍👍

I used bottles with my babies but it's so true about the marketing. I have so many baby items that I never even used!
I think you are wonderful but why do you have so many dinner plates?
She told you in the first ten seconds!
"Buying things because they appealed at the time, even though there was no real need"
Good question! The top shelf of plates is for holidays and the bottom shelf is for everyday use - but still too many! :)
