I saw the trailer in 1999. Had put the movie on my watch list. It's 2024 now. 25 years of waiting for opportunity to watch this movie.
It’s excellent, in my opinion. Not for everyone, but certainly worth watching at least once.
where that guy have been? in a a cave?
Is kinda a yawn. “Deep Rising” is better, in my opinion, obviously.
Its great, worth watching for Sutherland alone.
I am biased though, i grew up watching this film.
@@Erikcleric I just watched it two weeks ago. It really was great! Fun 90s movie.
Um. Yeah. No one found alive...no matter how much ammo it takes. Aye aye captain. Message received
This is a great B-Movie monster movie.
I wouldn't call a 75 million $ budget to be low budget honestly.
Its just a movie that was unappreciated.
This, along with Deep Rising, the cube, and Dark City. I loved the late 90's kind of B horror movies (I know Dark city wasn't horror, but it's a brilliant cult classic). These movies were made on a budget with the sole goal of entertainment, now, everything is made with shitty cgi, takes itself too seriously, or is an expensive over budget AAA movie that's equally shitty.
The matrix completely ripped off dark city
@@Chevalier_knight yeah, as well as Ghost in the Shell, that said, I still enjoyed the original. I mean I enjoyed both, and for me, looking back, the biggest issue I have now is that back then movies were exciting and was really looking forward as to how Hollywood entertainment would progress. For a while it delivered and during the 00's some amazing movies were produced. Now, however, I can't think of a single movie coming out that I'm looking forward to, Hollywood has become creatively bankrupt and is full of cowards who only want to tow the establishment line.
Well said.
Yep, i dont even watch newer movies anymore.
Donald is always watchable so i can get alot of bang from his filmography, but yea exactly like you said, movies are uncreative or over ambitious, and i hate that remakes are still happening.
But to prevent it from being dubbed a remake they tried to make it as artsy and abstract as possible, so complex, how could a complex film ever be allowed to be called what it is, a remake? :)
I enjoyed this film also, there was a surprising big toy line around it.
Coriolanus Snow was always ruthless, huh?
Jaime Lee was such a hottie and D Sutherland has always been weird
Hahaha.
Even older Jaime Lee activated my neurons.
"You're killing me with these negative waves!"
"Voof! Voof!"
"We like to play loud music ... it helps us relax!"
Yeah, he was weird ... but he was also cool!
Anyone alive, or anyone bodysnatched.
Exactly!
Captain. My father was an Admiral, so I know more about boats than you do. Such a stupid thing to say. Why not just say, My Dad can beat up your Dad?
Well I don't think she was trying to lecture Everton. She was just disappointed they became greedy too fast and just cared about salvage.
For her to come off as the empathetic one you know. 😊
He the captain was insulting her as a woman too !
This is before Sutherland grew big bushy eyebrows.
To be fair, he only had them styled to be bushy when playing President Snow.
He doesn't have bushy eyebrows normally as far as i can tell.
