(This neighbor was an elderly woman and her yard was way more "forest-like" than ours.) One day I got on my hands and knees and discovered that I could crawl inside and that the ground in the center was pretty much clear. I cleaned out the dead twigs on the ground and cut off a few interior branches and then it was like a magical room with walls and ceiling made of overarching yellow branches. I put a blanket on the ground and would crawl in there day after day, just lie there reading a book or looking at the sun filtering through the branches--and no one on the outside of bush could see me or had any idea that I was there.

i had a butterfly bush exactly like this and would hide under it in the dirt, making fairy houses and a path for the bunny hole. my parents would know exactly where to find me outside. sadly we had to cut it down years later as it had reached the second story and bees and wasps loved it. now we have an offspring of that same bush in a different part of the yard that is growing just as fast! and my mom planted roses where the old one used to be :)

Time is precious and the biggest shame is wasted time. I swear I was 25 yesterday. Now my daughter is 25!! When its done you will step back and see your hard work and i hope its a place you can enjoy when you are 51!! Thanks again for letting us witness your life and spreading creativity and optimism. Hi Hannah! I work customer service for Carhartt and if those bibs are one of ours you can send it in for a repair for free! It takes about 2 weeks total for us to repair and send the bibs back out!
Love this. Just a suggestion - plant some fruit trees now. They need a couple of years to settle in properly, and you'll be glad you did it sooner rather than later!
just when i was romanticising the idea of spending my whole life alone in the woods, your friends pulled into the drive way and reminded me that friends and hugs are important!!!!! balanceeeee balance balance
Hi Hannah, Great to see you using the trees you are felling to clear space for your septic tank as firewood. Here are some tricks that you might want to consider using in the future. a) Have your wood stacks closer to your home b) Cover your wood stacks to prevent them getting wet c) Try to have your stacks off the ground, even two thick long logs as the base to prevent damp. d) If you can, drag the branch, limb, or trunk, to the place you are going to store/stack before you cut it into pieces. This means less picking up individual pieces and less trips back and forth. Good luck!
Hey! I just wanted to let you know it's not actually bad to cut down the trees all the time. When there is a lot of smaller trees/brush/fuels your fire risk increases. So it's actually super important to remove trees not only to prevent fire, but also to improve forest health by providing space for existing trees (I study ecology and Evolutionary Biology)
Haha, I know, but it seemed like removing trees was making her sad in the last video. I just wanted to bring positivity to the action of removing the trees.
Good point! I am potentially interested in studying evolutionary biology and ecology as well, how do you like it? What year are you in? What are your classes like? I hope you don’t mind me asking but I don’t hear about many people with that major, and I’m really curious.
@@deliamae6200 I love it! I personally prefer like processes and like progression so if you also enjoy that side of biology you'll love it! Plus it's a good median between environmental science and conservation science

are you planting a garden? Id be planting a food forest too. Apples peaches cherries raspberries blueberries. currents. Just imagine having to walk out your door and go on a walk to collect your fruit off the trees. Life could be so much simpler. I want it. Just imagine the beauty and smell of all the fruit trees in blossom too mMMMM. I miss my grandpaaaa !!!!
I want a garden so bad but yesterday walked outside to a man on the street leaning on my recycle bin staring at me as I exited my side door. It bothered all night. Should I have asked is he ok...was he planning plotting and scheming on me or was he in need? I feel like a total bitxh and then again I feel like he was over stepping my boundries by chilling there staring into my home. Very much like one one study a book. So uncomfortable.

Hannah! I love your channel. I've been watching for years x I'm from Austraila and I just bought an old church that I am going to renovate, super exciting. You give me inspiration and peace with your videos :) Thank you for always giving us more videos to look forward to.
Excellent video! If anyone needs a hummingbird nectar recipe always used 4:1 ratio. 4 cups of boiled water and 1 cup of plain white sugar. Never use red dye and never use anything but white sugar. Always change your feeder every 2 days. Mold KILLS!! So important!! Happy humming!! I have a flock of over 50+ hummies during season. ✨
I am hooked on your videos :) I am almost 50 now and living in a small town, but this was my life in my teens and I loved it. Thanks for the memories and reminiscing about my youth. I kinda want to sell all we have and live in a cabin in the bush lol
You are going to be okay sweetheart. You are doing okay and you will learn as you go. You are finding your way to a very peaceful life don’t let anyone or anything stray you from your path!!!
Agree. Molly needs a channel she is quite focused and I would love to watch her simply work on the boat. Both locations will take a lot of focus and real work before the seasons are over...
While I am an experienced DIY person as well as a homesteader, I love watching your videos. There is something about your bravery to try new things that is just contagious. Have you thought of painting your cabin white? Then it could be more like that cottage you keep calling it. I think it would be beautiful.
make sure you clear out all weeds and grass around your newly planted grapes, forsythia, and raspberries so they aren’t competing for water and nutrients. 🧡🌿
I know I like living in my space too..it's like camping in the middle of a city..you get used to it when you settle in..and I think keeping a schedule for each days planned activities really helps..📅📆📝🗂️
Helpful hint: You do not need to soak your plant's roots before planting. Just dig a hole slightly larger than the root ball, plant and pack the dirt around the plants well, then water thoroughly to remove air pockets. Keep up the great work! The cabin looks beautiful.
Loving the walkway. If you’re up for suggestions I think y0u should make the whole are a little garden all the way out to where the daffodils are planted. No mowing! You can put grasses and perennials in there, or better yet a wildflower garden. Just plant the seeds and it’s done. You should shock the weeds out though but it could grow up on either side of your walkway. You get enough sun and they are beautiful. Google them. I would love to do that along my driveway but right now we are paying a fortune for landscaping on our property and the garden and driveway is for next spring.
I love the Studio Ghibli-like intro a lot. Feels like a quiet moment of introspection. Piano tones babbling like a brook filling you with a sensation comfort with a flake of nostalgia. Love to see more of these in the future!
All that "fluff" can really be great for your garden. Put them in a metal garbage can and then use a weed eater like a blender. You could use them in a compost pile or put them back in your flowers and garden as an instant mulch (also helping keep the weeds down). Looking lovely!!
So love watching your videos. Can not wait each week for the next one to see what you will be doing. Love all the different music you listen too. I love all different kinds too. Spring at your cabin is so beautiful and so are you.
I lived on a 31ft catamaran w/300 sq ft inside, w/an outboard & 45 ft sail w/my daughter. We mainly motored up & down the FL coast from Jax to the Keys, mainly motoring on the ICW (Intracoastal Waterway). We saw amazing things, & it tested us tremendously, & my daughter did online school w/a Hot Spot; however, owning a boat is a MONEY PIT! Further, you have to have backups for backups! I suggest a Garmin w/tons of maps, + a floating, portable Garmin, as well as a a portable, floating radio, SAT phone, bugout bags, etc. If there's no sail & just an inboard engine, you can get stuck, so the sail is crucial! Good luck :)
Oh cool your back !! Cosy cup cakes how wonderful your cabin is glad your back and awesome boat excellent for summer fun stay happy everyone take care 🦄🍒🌏🏝🏜🥰💟💯🧚♀️🧚♂️🦸♂️🦸♀️
Hanna, I've enjoyed your videos and your total indepenance so here are a few pieces of advice you might consider. 1. use a 6x9 tarp to rake your leaf piles onto, then drag the pile to where you want to dump them. 2. make little bunches of twigs, by tying a string around them for a fire- starter and keep them dry in a coffee can in your cabin. 3. Don't stack your firewood too tightly so air can pass through and keep your logs nice and dry but use your wheelbarrow to move them, rather than wearing yourself out tossing them. Be proud of yourself, I'm sure your family memebers are.
So the beginning was actually a Studio Ghibli intro scene. The fire even gave me Calcifer from Howls moving castle vibes 🔥 . I am speaking this my darnedest into existence! Working title “ The curious adventures of Hannah Lee” ALSO are we ever going to explore that possible underground bunker you found a few vids back? Dying to know! Love all your vids xx

One doesn't simply approach a chainsaw. You have to dance up to it, let it know who's boss. Only then are you ready to be worthy of wielding it.
Things they don't teach you on Homestead Rescue lol

hannah: today I'm going to perform my new sing and dance routine just to spice things up
she’s my younger sister 😂

"Old cabins in woods" are one level of maintenance and cost. "Boat" is next level stuff.
are you planting a garden? Id be planting a food forest too. Apples peaches cherries raspberries blueberries. currents. Just imagine having to walk out your door and go on a walk to collect your fruit off the trees. Life could be so much simpler. I want it. Just imagine the beauty and smell of all the fruit trees in blossom too mMMMM. I miss my grandpaaaa !!!!
Yessss! I hope she does some permaculture stuff because she has an amazing property for it!
So uncomfortable.
hannahs videos are literally one of the only things keeping me alive and going and sane (tbh im actually not sane but you get it)
Absolutely no one:
Hannah: wears the cutest little outfits to do yard work in
Literally me
Me: dresses up,hair & lip gloss popping
The elders: Where u off to?
My sister: Prolly going to check the veggies in the yard or read a book out in thethe sun
Me: 👁👄👁 👽✨

All I could think of was ‘Heidi’ with that outfit. We never know if it will be a practical or whimsical outfit worn for the work you do. Either way - charming how you show the various moods and sides of you!
I garden every day and I wear pants tucked into rain boots. Skirts always tends to brush plants and bugs up under the skirt
Thank you for being YOU and sharing your cool life with us
Hannah’s videos forever makin me feel like I’m having the most refreshing 20 minute hangout with a close friend. Such a breath of fresh air always 🪴
Ditto
She's living the Disney life. Including a lot of singing
In that dress with apron I would look like a laprichorn lady, but Hannah looks stunning.
Hannah! I love your channel.
I've been watching for years x
I'm from Austraila and I just bought an old church that I am going to renovate, super exciting. You give me inspiration and peace with your videos :)
Thank you for always giving us more videos to look forward to.
as a 17 year old, THIS is what i aspire to
I’m 16 and same :)
trueeeeee
A whole vibe that boat cleaning (:
Excellent video! If anyone needs a hummingbird nectar recipe always used 4:1 ratio. 4 cups of boiled water and 1 cup of plain white sugar. Never use red dye and never use anything but white sugar. Always change your feeder every 2 days. Mold KILLS!! So important!! Happy humming!! I have a flock of over 50+ hummies during season. ✨
Also, be careful hanging feeders in trees. Snakes & prey mantis’ can easily poach. 😬
I am hooked on your videos :) I am almost 50 now and living in a small town, but this was my life in my teens and I loved it. Thanks for the memories and reminiscing about my youth. I kinda want to sell all we have and live in a cabin in the bush lol
I just love your strength and curiosity and sense of humor..you rock Hannah
This is the kind of video I needed today. Had a really rough night and I am now trying to relax and have a good time. Thanks for making my day better!
Same here it gets better sending you love ✨💗
Hope you had a nice day x
You are going to be okay sweetheart. You are doing okay and you will learn as you go. You are finding your way to a very peaceful life don’t let anyone or anything stray you from your path!!!
I am never disappointed by your range in music. Love to see & hear it 🥰
The ending was amazing. Photo guy. Heck yes, He is sweet. Good friends are hard to come by. 🥰🙏🏼♥️
She has a million
Hannah you should have your sister start a channel about rehabbing the boat. I would follow her.
Agree. Molly needs a channel she is quite focused and I would love to watch her simply work on the boat. Both locations will take a lot of focus and real work before the seasons are over...
Same
Agree!
me to
Great idea! I was also thinking same thing and would definitely love to watch molly turn that boat into her own.
Your videos are the reality of cottage core and I am so here for it.
your cottage is my dream. it's SO pretty and i love the plants omg
Your videos are good medicine for having to live in a sick world! Thanks
You guys literally living your dreams while I'm stuck with dishes!!!
The nice thing is: even someone who lives their dream, has to do the dishes at some point ;)
Well, dance around and sing while doing them....and it will look like you are living the dream too....lol
the scene towards the end when the classical music is playing in the background was breathtaking. like what is life?!
I love how she lives like an old lady but she's not. So cute
While I am an experienced DIY person as well as a homesteader, I love watching your videos. There is something about your bravery to try new things that is just contagious. Have you thought of painting your cabin white? Then it could be more like that cottage you keep calling it. I think it would be beautiful.
Once painted, it will always need re-painting. It just creates work for the owner. I would not bother.
make sure you clear out all weeds and grass around your newly planted grapes, forsythia, and raspberries so they aren’t competing for water and nutrients. 🧡🌿
Beautiful music than you come Down the stairs in your beautiful little cabin. Just love it
I accidentally binged watched all of your videos..... so now I patiently await for a new one every week :)
One thing about Molly, she doesn’t give a damn about RUclips LOL! Sis is not here for the camera 😂😂😂🤭
yea shame - I was looking forward to the boat channel ;-)
Who's coming to visit????! Love this video. 😊💜💜💜
you dont know what your vids do for my mental wellbeing thank u
I love your apron over your dress😍 Also I love your cabin so much!
I know I like living in my space too..it's like camping in the middle of a city..you get used to it when you settle in..and I think keeping a schedule for each days planned activities really helps..📅📆📝🗂️
Any productive day filled with John Mayer, Nora Jones and Maroon 5 is a good day.
You left out my favorite...RL Burnside
You forgot Slayer...
Enjoy your fairytale...its yours and you write the storie and you deserve the each chapter.love your gardenpath...very clever
you remind me a bit of tinker bell, like your whole vibe is just 😚🤌
Helpful hint: You do not need to soak your plant's roots before planting. Just dig a hole slightly larger than the root ball, plant and pack the dirt around the plants well, then water thoroughly to remove air pockets. Keep up the great work! The cabin looks beautiful.
10 seconds in and WOMAN I am already loving the VIBE. 💞😊🌸🌻🍃
Can we all just agree that Hannah is our official fairytale princess of RUclips she's living the fairytale princess life through RUclips
Isabel too!
Reality bites.
Almost nothing more satisfying than starting a fire.
The best thing about sundays
Monday morning for me. The only good thing about a Monday
Sad
I love the Studio Ghibli-like intro a lot. Feels like a quiet moment of introspection. Piano tones babbling like a brook filling you with a sensation comfort with a flake of nostalgia. Love to see more of these in the future!
This wooden pathway is soo cute 🤎 I can imagine the magic that you'll do with this garden!
It gives me serious Animal Crossing cottagecore vibes
All that "fluff" can really be great for your garden. Put them in a metal garbage can and then use a weed eater like a blender. You could use them in a compost pile or put them back in your flowers and garden as an instant mulch (also helping keep the weeds down). Looking lovely!!
I would love a video if you just doing a weeks worth of yard work.. clear leaves, trees, sticks , planting stuff to make your yard pretty
So love watching your videos. Can not wait each week for the next one to see what you will be doing. Love all the different music you listen too. I love all different kinds too. Spring at your cabin is so beautiful and so are you.
When I'm feeling lazy, I watch a Hannah Lee video, laziness goes away
Work - dance - work - dance it's the only way to get things done 💕
Oh cool your back !! Cosy cup cakes how wonderful your cabin is glad your back and awesome boat excellent for summer fun stay happy everyone take care 🦄🍒🌏🏝🏜🥰💟💯🧚♀️🧚♂️🦸♂️🦸♀️
I love Hannah' and her sisters bond it's the cutest thing ever
Hanna, I've enjoyed your videos and your total indepenance so here are a few pieces of advice you might consider. 1. use a 6x9 tarp to rake your leaf piles onto, then drag the pile to where you want to dump them. 2. make little bunches of twigs, by tying a string around them for a fire- starter and keep them dry in a coffee can in your cabin. 3. Don't stack your firewood too tightly so air can pass through and keep your logs nice and dry but use your wheelbarrow to move them, rather than wearing yourself out tossing them. Be proud of yourself, I'm sure your family memebers are.
that walkway idea looks awesome!!!
oh my gosh your kettle is SO CUTE and the carpe diem mug I LOVE and you in a pinafore stacking wood and wheelbarrowing leaves in the sun ----- YES
left us on a cliffhanger!
The Watkins 27 is a great boat. What a fun project and money pit.
Your sisters boat is super nice, I love it 👍💪
thinking about you by norah jones at 14:45 i love that song ugh this woman has TASTE
Love the tree sidewalk you use all of nature's materials great and looks awesome
This is a welcome distraction and break from my day. Thanks!
Perfect fairytale run at the end . Floaty dress and welly boots lol perfect x
ok honestly dancing speeds up the process. makes you feel like you’re in less of a rush and when stuff goes wrong you just laugh. scientifically proven
that last scene made my heart literally throb. you deserve so much happiness where you are
such a great way to start my day
I love the slow living style of this video!! So peaceful.
You and your sister are so funny together! Love the cabin!
The background music at the beginning of this video was PERFECT!
Really cool and refreshing video ! I can relate to what you say about just preferring to stay on your property than that of the city 😫 thanks for sharing and enabling for an invasion from every day life. Namaste 🙏
I truly love the way you are your free spirit lifts me up every time I see you truly keep being you lul
