The money people in our country has been working for years to make people feel bad. Then they can sell people on "This will help you be happy". Money comes from people feeling that they can buy happiness. Deeply ingrained in our system is the idea of toys or experiences can make people happy.
It's about women's autonomy over their own bodies. If you are a person of faith...it has always been about your "personal" relationship with God.
