ahhh......back to the days of intelligible lyrics, catchy hook, melody. and harmony vocals.....played by talented musicians playing real instruments.....what the hell happened to pop music?......I'm getting old I guess.....
Thanks. This is fabulous. I'm at work and said to myself "Don't you write her off" and it came to me. Had to hear it. A favorite of mine for over 30 years.
I still have the tape I used to steal the whole album off the air. When I was in the Navy stationed in VA Beach, the local rado station would play an entire album once a week. This brings back big memories. Very cool of you to post it, thank you.
They had three, sorta, albums. After M,C&H they had "City" featuring Clark who was on his way out and finally McGuinn & Hillman. I think the last just filled out their contractual obligations. Saw them in DC sans Clark.
Thank you for reposting this EXCELLENT video and song. I don't know what happened to your original posting but I appreciate you doing this again. One question - at the end of this video is a clip of Tom Waits. What was that from? One more question - would you PLEASE post the Tom Waits video? Again, thank you. Peace.
Anyone know where I can find (and purchase) the recorded version of this song by Chris Hillman & Herb Pederson? I've seached iTunes and Amazon without any luck.
McGuinn didnt get along w crosby at all. Hillman always a bit evasive when asked about anyone. Gene never talked bad about anyone in an interview. Privately sure it was different
But the "Little Fat Guy", did make Gene even more attractive to all of the ladies, while performing. When that Byrds lineup was still together; I was always hoping Gene would crown him with that tambourine, then finish the song playing his guitar... and they would pro-ba-bly feel a whole lot better with him go-o-on.
Probably one of the Best Albums at the end of the 70's. Wow!!!
remember hearing this on the radio, and liking it a lot.
Gene enjoying himself here - love it!
Gene Clark forever!💖

What a great tune amazing harmony ❤️🧡💜💛❤️🧡💜🌞🌜🌟🌎🙏🌸🌼🌴🌳☺️💕
Enjoy this video very much... especially seeing Roger, Gene and Chris performing
here in early 1979.
The Byrds FOREVERMORE 🎼🎤🎶🎶🎸🎸🎸🎸🥁
A nice simple tune but very enjoyable. I've been a fan since their days with the Byrds. I saw Roger McGuinn perform about four years ago.
Saw Roger McCain live in the 80, maybe 1981. Fell in love with this
Tune.
Gene was the coolest hippy ever💜🧡❤️💛💜🧡❤️🌞🌜🌟🌎🙏🌸🌼🌴🌳☺️💕
Gorgeous Gene Clark. A genius in his time.
Gene Clark is a genius of not only his time. He was much ahead of his time.
as it's obviously in the BBC Old Grey Whistle Test studio , it seems unlikely that it was recorded in Austin , Texas
Happy birthday (4DEC) Chris Hillman 😃
Still great sung after all this years !
Thanks. This is fabulous. I'm at work and said to myself "Don't you write her off" and it came to me. Had to hear it. A favorite of mine for over 30 years.
This is real good, really catchy. First heard it on the Crap From the Past radio show and liked it ever since.
Have the 45--stil enjoying it in 2021
Wow I had this 8 track! Awesome.
Thanks for posting this - haven't seen it since it wast broadcast.
Whatever happened to fun music like this?
I still have the original cassette tape from 1979.

Lead guitar is John (Johnne) Sambataro. He was/is playing with Dave Mason.
My station later played "Skate Date" whether or not it was supposed to be the next single LOL
The guitar player green shirt dancing around was clearly doing the good 70’s Coke. Ha ha
Gene is a fancy dancer here. Love it. Still this is a silly song
Excellent!
some of my heroes in a dorky phase. nice ditty !
What a tune!

Right. The info at :38 is incorrect.

McGuinn the other guy and Hillman😇
Rob Brown Yeah - "the other guy"- lol! 😍💘♏
Great footage! I had no idea they put an album out as a trio. Whose on the electric guitar here?
I heard that Gene Clark couldn't even stand to be in the same room with (big mouth) David Crosby, another possible explanation for his absence
Who could?
From the BBC's Old Grey Whistle Test I presume?
At the end, the background says “old Grey whistle test”
Hillman had just done two really nice solo albums right before this collaboration.
Tom Waits!!!
Da fuk, I thought this was a Tom Petty song the whole time!
Drummer is Poco's George Grantham.
Anyone know where I can find (and purchase) the recorded version of this song by Chris Hillman & Herb Pederson? I've seached iTunes and Amazon without any luck.
It's called Chris Hillman "Bidin' My Time"
Guest appearance by Tom Waits?
a young bill bailey on elec guitar
That would be Johnne Sambataro , who played latterly with Dave Mason
Chris Hillman seems to pop up everywhere. He seems to have left his Nudie suit at home this time.
Who is the hammy Crosby look-alike guitarist? Guy is hillarious.
Johnne Sambataro.... with M,C,H for 8 years then went on to play with Dave Mason's band for even longer - 2001 onwards
The fringe outfit he's wearing in this performance really seems like a Crosby troll, lol
@@beancooper9 Thanks for the info, didn't know he had such long-standing affiliations!
Silly song must be mcguinn's. Dont u write her off like that, shes a real fine lady hahaha Gene looks good as always
yeah... I miss the days when a straight man could consider displaying a rainbow...
Hey yo
Go for it.
Too bad they couldn't release it as a Byrds song.
The other reason David Crosby wasnt invited for this semi-byrds reunion was that Gene Clark couldnt stand to be in the same room with crosby.
McGuinn didnt get along w crosby at all. Hillman always a bit evasive when asked about anyone. Gene never talked bad about anyone in an interview. Privately sure it was different

SouthVa Ron - I just lol'd at your comment!
Who's the fringy goon?
probably a session musician
Joe Sambertero I think, was on the record.
Not nearly as good as 'Surrender To Me.' Or as memorable. Good, nonetheless. The studio version sounds much better. Must be that freebasing.
Uh...Crosby was not wanted.
David Crosby's involvement was NOT sought...
Scott Kirkpatrick was a way better drummer.....
