The day I found the underworld and got the journey to the middle of the earth feel it has forever been one of my favorite spots to start. A lot of the supportive pillars have little cracks and ledges that are great for starters. Surrounded by all the resources you need with the pearls and oil being in the water. My favorite part is the all the non-aggressive dinos like you mentioned and then just the spot out infront of UW crouch having the rexes spawn. Guaranteed theri spawn just around the corner also. It also amazes me how many people don't even know this place exists so I appreciate seeing love for it!
It is actually funny you say that, about the cracks and crevices in the green dome area, because I was scouting around on Single Player and actually found so many nice starter spots lol. Is kinda crazy how many resources is down there. Obsidian/chitin for Poly, not a bad starter spot for a fresh wipe server! Glad you enjoyed the video =]
@@FatCatArk once you come in the lava entrance that first pillar has a stalagmite in the back side that is completely detached at the top and you stand on nothing, super weird. Stoked to see what else you got brewing up!
Haha yeah, I noticed that too, funny building on top of that. It is like that in certain spots in the Redwoods too on the Center. I'm working on Fjordur stuff now, gonna get a "Know the Map" together for all the areas. Any new Fjordur spots I find I'll obviously do a quick video on them as well!

I feel as though people learn and take in information differently, so if there is an opportunity to give commentary I will definitely do it. But for now, as long as the text based info is reaching the audience well, I’ll stick with that. But commentary is definitely on my mind as to whether to do it or not lol
If I am thinking of the same spot you are that spot does have a few major downsides. - You are most likely gonna have to build up the outside which makes you exposed. Not sure of your playstyle if that is a good thing or not - Depending on the server you play on, that spot is very very easily quetz hatch framed, even if you build up the outside it is a fairly easy, either: 1. Skiff soak 2. Quetz hatch frame each cliff plat 1 by 1. - With that spot being so narrow, once they get past the outside defenses, the inside most likely will have many LoS issue where you can sneak rockets/Tek Grenades through - If not spammed properly, someone can also just fortnite into your base, some people may even tunnel. Now if you are on a server that doesn't allow Quetz hatch frames, then it may be an okay spot, but you are relying heavily on outside defenses. Of course it is 100% up to you, hope that helped! You'd be pretty hidden there but if somebody checks the spot I'd imagine they'd would rocket your base off the back of an andrewsarchus. You can place cliff plats around most of that room just above the lava. So that's all they would have to do to get fobbed there and uncryo/download dinos. Imo that spot would be pretty close to impossible to raid if you just claim the whole puzzle area with cliff plats and build a turret wall off of the plats. At that point they have no way to soak turrets with dinos.
I haven't checked, but I don't think an Andrew can fit through that hole leading into the Rathole. Basically the size of a player, but I agree 100%, you can definitely lock down that entire puzzle. We did that one time on an unofficial server, it was a ton of fun lol. Practically covered the entire bottom of the lava with foundations and had skele towers everywhere in the lava. Only spot someone can FoB from at that point is from outside the puzzle. I appreciate the comment =], I'll circle back with you once I tested the Andrew. Also I'm pretty sure you take lava damage while riding it, so you'll get melted waiting for the Andrew to swim down the lava.
I tested to see if you could get an andrewsarchus in there and you can through a slightly bigger opening. You don't take damage from lava when your riding those btw. Its still a pretty sneaky spot though. Do you think claiming that whole room without using the mesh spot would be fine for official?
Haha wait, the player doesn’t take lava damage when riding an Andrew? Lol wut… Oh man, on official? Probably wouldn’t recommend it since rafts are a thing. All they really have to do is just clear enough room to drop a raft down and the entire area is screwed. Offline of course. If you have 0 offline timer and have people online consistently, I think it would be interesting to build up. Main way you’ll probably see people raiding you is with Karki/carbo or stego. (I think you can walk a Karki in). But if you don’t have 24 hour coverage, definitely not worth it
Oh dang. I just checked it in sp. I thought nothing could enter except shoulder tames. I thought the only way to get tames in there was to uncryo under the invisible barrier. Dang I wanted to build there. I can't get a raft down on the lava btw. They might have changed that.
Oh no, only Dino’s that are restricted are pretty much 80% of the Dino’s that were released on the center map and before. Anytbing after that, they kinda didn’t update. So you can take bloodstalkers, gasbags, etc. Hmm, ill check again, but you have to be fairly close to the lava to place it. But even with being able to walk in tames, it’s still a decent spot. Especially if you are online. Rafts kinda ruin that spot though. I’ll test it later

You can raft raid it, however with this spot, I would highly highly recommend building up the outside of the rathole but putting turrets in the lava. But you can’t 3rd person c4 this spot straight up. They can 3rd person c4 if they line of sight with a raft and get actually in the rathole
Ohhh that’s right, it’s not technically considered ground. So you’ll have to place a cliff plat and build down with pillars and create a new snap point for foundations across the bottom. Then place turrets on the foundations. Same concept as how I showed how to build the rathole.
When I tested it, I wasn’t able to hit anything in the base. Also I would recommend throwing some turrets on the floor of the lava to stall people even further. Use the exo mek to build everything in the lava.
Technically yeah, since it is considered “mesh” if it didn’t have that open mesh leading out into the water pool, it would probably be legal. But honestly, I HIGHLY doubt WC will do anything about it since they are preparing for ASA and closing down official servers.
Just tested it on the Unofficial server I play on and it worked just fine no anti-mesh, not sure why the anti-mesh is so different on Unofficial compared to Official, but regardless, could work well for Unofficial servers!

You should do a series like top ten caves, ratholes, land spots, starter spots for each map.
Good idea! Pushing out a few more Fjordur videos first since that map is still relatively new to some people. But I’ll definitely keep that in mind!
Rafts on lava are ridiculous I dont understand why is posible. Is there x6 damage in the rathole?
