Just keep in mind that the stadium was designed to amplify the audience. In addition to the 360 degrees advantage....Back in the roman days when they would have arena battles the louder, the crowd was, the better the gladiators fought, then the better fights you would get to watch as a spectator. It's a cycle that amplified the whole experience and it still works today thankfully :) because Metallica sounds great when the audience does :P

Their live performances are generally in a lower key, with pretty much all of their songs - I'd say they do this because it's easier on James' voice; he's got a fairly deep talking voice so he's probably more comfortable singing in the lower registers, especially as he gets older. etc. "One" is in E standard tuning in the recorded version, but in drop D in "S&M" - Symphony and Metallica.
