May Mullins soul rest in peace. He was fighting for his country in a time where things were in chaos. Again rest in peace Mullins.

This graveyard really did have a different feel to it. God bless the young Mr. Mullins who died in Ireland's fight for independence. Which, by the way, they finally won in 1922! Much to my satisfaction. The British thought nothing of getting rid of Irish lives as long as it suited them. Much appreciated Cathal, I do feel for those cats that roam the cemeteries. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Hello GV, I agree with two other people…i heard whispers at the earlier part of your tour, and again at different parts, a man’s voice, but couldn’t tell what he was saying… just accompanying you as you went round.
I also agree with you that it was a husband and wife buried together…they were tight up close, with figurines facing each other, which you wouldn’t get with strangers. I always feel that cats are very spiritual animals, and I think it’s so touching how they are always drawn to you in a churchyard…..just wish they could talk! The things they could tell!
That was fascinating and although I wasn’t born when the fighting between the British and IRA , I bow my head when I see a young Irish man killed for what he believed In ,God bless him.
Thankyou GV, that was a really interesting tour, and I’m grateful to whoever is looking after it and keeping the grass short….no wet feet this time GV!! 👏🏻👏🏻 love and light , Helen 🙋‍♀️🥰💐🙏🦋🦋🦋xx

What a beautiful graveyard. I’m so glad to see someone is tending to it. I absolutely love the Celtic crosses, as well as the old iron cross. And all those inscriptions were lovely. I wish the bell tower had been open. I would love to have seen inside, though I completely get why it’s locked. Thanks for another great video! 😊

I’m glad they’re taking care of the graves that needed it. Ah, and you reading that beautiful verse at the back of his gravestone …got me tearing up 🥲. Poor lad.
Oh, and that iron cross…so very very sad. They can be sad and Beautiful and touching all at once.
It also reminds us of how our life expectancy has risen since medicines and vaccines were invented. (And then you said it, too! Wow!) But, it’s so clear in history. When I was in elementary school our teacher told us the life expectancy was in the sixties (I can no longer remember sixty-what anymore) God Bless you all. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Something to use on these really old stones is flour. Throw a couple of handfuls against the stone and rub it in. There is no harm to the stone and the flour washes off with the next rain.

Beautiful church and graveyard, I am glad to see that someone is trying to take care of it. Those monuments are works of art! I wonder 🤔 how long it took people in those days to carve a complete monument? You have a way of making new friends, that cat 🐈 took a liking to you. Great walking tour, thank you very much GV.

At timestamp 23:16, Teresa Mary, daughter of John Darell Esq., was Joseph Shee's wife. He was a merchant and their son, Sir William Shee, was an Anglo-Irish politician, lawyer, judge and first Roman Catholic judge to sit in England and Wales since the Reformation. The Darell family held Scotney Castle for four centuries and hid a priest in a Priest Hole in the castle. The 'new' Scotney Castle that you showed is a Victorian style mansion built by the grandson of Edward Hussey who bought the castle and lands from the Darell family. The Castle was sold to the National Trust in 1970.

Many times I have been followed by a grave kitty, quite a few times have lead me to unmarked graves that I couldn’t find, one particularly my Scottish GG Granfather and family , this kitty meowed and rolled all over the large mound, ( 12 burials in it) rubbed around my feet, meowed and made me follow it turning it head and meowing at me, yes a black cat. Laid on the grave . Believe it or not, it was the family plot after another investigation, magic 🐨💗
