This video is exactly what I was looking for, it does exactly what I needed, our explanation is incredibly easy to understand yet it is very complete. You also played a nice example at the end. That's a 10/10 tutorial! Thanks!
wow.. what keyboard... I just got mine.. it came with the Mpk 225... but when I try what he says in the tutorial, it won't loop for me... what am I doin wrong. :(
I do a Music Production course at University and I had a day left to record a live performance on Ableton Live, I fucked up because I left it til the last minute and had never used Ableton before or done anything live like the session tool, this video helped me so much it was really easy to follow, the other guides just came off as way toocomplex for me as a beginner which overwhelemd me, so thanks for helping me finish my course work lol
The best intro to looping vid I've found! (if you have an MPK mini and Ableton, especially) One thing: I prefer to use the CC pad controls so I don't accidentally trigger a midi command while playing a note.
Damn my man I was watching a few of your videos and then I told myself I wish there were a tutorial by you and how to much looped beats and booom there it is . Make more tutorials
Thank you. finally, out of alllll the videos I watched on how to do live looping, this one I think is the best. You dont know how long I've been trying to find a good tutorial.. Thank YOU!! & subscribed! OH! and... we got the same keyboard! haha!
Thank you so much for this video I've been trying to get my Arturia to do what I want for months now and this just in one clean swoop answered all my questions
Hello Thank you for this video. It's nice kickoff for a new user of AKai Mpk Mini 2. As you mentioned this is simple and straight forwards to start with. I will take this video as reference and will teach to my son. By the way we just bought a new Mini 2 :)
thanks for the breakdown,, don't usually rock like this but, definitely good to know. and a great practice tool for coming up with ideas,,-- appreciated
I didn't get the arming tracks part and stopping the recording before you stop playing on the keyboard. And also I wanna say this was the most straightforward tutorial out of all.
I just started and when i looked up how to make beats you showed up and your vids taught me alot and thanks and keep up the good work one more thing what instrument did you use for the first two tracks
Wow. This is EXACTLY what i have been looking for. I've been trying to do this with ableton routing out through a second audio interace into my Pioneer mixer to add some custom beats and samples into my dj sets. Any chance you have a video or knowledge how to quickly pull or create a sample out of a track and map it to a button on the fly? Or is it best to prepare things before you start playing?
Can you please create the beat from money longer(lil uzi song). Its one of my favorite beats😁. I‘ve nearly watched all of your beat making videos keep it up your doing some solid work out there🤘🏽
im tryna do this on a Minilab MK2 but for some reason when i try to map the arm track to the pad i have to hold the pad down in order to do it, any chance you could help with that? If i map it to a piano key i can tap it and it arms it but on the beat pad i have to hold it down
Fairly new to this. Say I'm using akai mpk mini 3 to loop. I arm tracks and record a 8 bar loop with drums, then I top it with a guitar and map it to a button on the mpk and I add layers (say a bass line ) 1. How can I map these guitar layers separately to other available buttons ? 2. Can I turn on and off the layer tracks with pressing the buttons at will ? 3. If there are recorded synth tracks in the project, can i trigger them on & off too with the buttons on the mpk? Great work and TIA.
Awesome tutorial. Hey, do you know if there is a plug in that allows you to see your AKAI MPKmini just as yours is in the tutorial to help with mapping and playing? A question for a scrub I know, but I'm very new haha Thanks
Can we map the controller to pause or play a single track? Like pause the drum track for the verses then play them again in the chorus? This, by the way, is the best midi mapping tutorial in YT. Thanks!
Do you have any tips for fixed length recording, so that the recorded clip automatically stops after playing 2, 4 or 8 bars? I think this could be very usefull when playing guitar audio loops
thank you guys
this link has died, any chance of an updated link?
The link is broken!
Could you upload again, please? :D
Could you re upload the project please?
can you update link?
lil soy sauce the files not there anymore :/ is this beat out now? I like it
Three years later and still the best video on looping.
This video is exactly what I was looking for, it does exactly what I needed, our explanation is incredibly easy to understand yet it is very complete. You also played a nice example at the end. That's a 10/10 tutorial! Thanks!
Keyboard and Ableton came in today. No prior knowledge. Your tutorial helped a LOT. Seriously. Actually managed to put a nice loop together!
wow.. what keyboard... I just got mine.. it came with the Mpk 225... but when I try what he says in the tutorial, it won't loop for me... what am I doin wrong. :(
@@ServantSoundProductions777 probably not pressing again to close loop?

Fairly new to this.

Yes!

Just to be sure, you can do all of that in the Lite version right ? No need to upgrade to the Intro version ?
