This song is massive; a crushing and exhausting emotional journey. This is like the black metal equivalent of Neurosis.

Holy shit! I am so in love with this! I've loved Alcest and Wolves in the Throne Room for a while, but now I'm hearing of "Sweater Metal", and I guess Altar of Plagues, Krallice, (maybe Woe) are part of it? What is "Sweater Metal" about? I'm just used to it being atmospheric black metal.

Since darkness is just the absence of something, what you are describing is a black hole, I think. It does emit light, but it's massive enough that the light can't escape.
