This is one a kind,,,, I swear it’s been years I’ve been listening to this and every single time remains in my brain with the same old quality of satisfaction
"When the streetlights fade, warm rain like judgement descends. Their voice numbs me, speaking words in a dead tongue. I have walked a road that lead me back to you. From a window our glances met. My true colours I cannot hide. The landscape has changed. You don't recognise me. These pictures slowly fade. Memories wither, they are all gone. Further down the steps get steeper. You haunt me in my dreams. I let go and fall deeper. This will be the end of me."
Favourite song of all time for years now... Lucky to have heard them play it two or three times live, each time was mesmerising. This song is a masterpiece.
i actually saw this band live in montreal and yeah sorry that was a dumb comment i know what you mean. slipknot is screamo but this is almost hypnotic haha in a good way

Just to be honest// i find this repetitive. No wicked solos// no killer riffs// if you enjoy this, more power to you!! I am gonna listen to Slayer// Obituary/ Priest/ or king Diamond// just my humble opinion!
Gotta love music, to each their own. Everyone likes different things, I suppose. To me, those bands you mentioned are average, basic, cookie cutter metal. I used to like thrash and traditional heavy metal in my younger days. It just got old, and doesn't interest me anymore. But to me, bands like this, in the post-metal genre, are the true innovators of metal today. Post-metal is more akin to classical music, the songs have movements, they have depth, they tell a story (and not just lyrically). The beauty of post-metal is in the subtleties, the little background details and the textures, the layering. It envelops you in a wall of sound and bashes you over the head, but stimulates the mind.
It is made to be repetitive and not that impressive from a technical point of view. Post metal is all about layers of guitars, deep bass tone and repetitive riffs/melodies (with some evolutions coming one by one) creating an atmosphere that takes time to be put in place before a crescendo (there it's the outro). That's the kind of music you listen to with your eyes closed, just letting yourself go with the music and doing nothing else but being absorbed by the atmosphere of the song.
The last 6 minutes of this song, I swear to God...
This is one a kind,,,, I swear it’s been years I’ve been listening to this and every single time remains in my brain with the same old quality of satisfaction
Same, I discovered it like 6 years ago and wherever I listen to it, it almost puts me in some sort of trance every time. One of a kind piece of music
2024 still listening to this masterpiece 💗

👌 thanks
I'm nearly driven to tears by the outro every time. There has never been a more beautiful, yet devastating outro in all of human history.
Me too! I always cry with CoL songs, they're so good, so moving, this one especially
Isis - Threshold of Transformation is better.
Ned Stark, You can't compare two different songs from two different bands, your opinion does not make sense.
@@MrReznor101 She said all human history. Why not they are both from the same genre.
tro vré grooo
at 9:30 it feels like the world is going to end.
+Alex Crawford I feel you there
In a beautiful way
That's absolutely the best moment of the song and on the album, if not the best moment of the band's entire discography.
and for a fraction of a second some of us wished it did.
One song to rule them all...
Masterpiece.
***** confirm
Любимая песня на все времена
I recall 2006. listening to music that felt so mysteriously. alien it mesmerized me whole at 15 years old..
me too, i regret nothing
tremendous, suffocating, edgy, dark and beautiful

Wow. What an inspiring piece of music
Most epic song of all time.
Rhythmic patterns for lead guitars in the outro part are absolutely unique!
I guess this could be an effect of creative use of delay :)
4 years late, but I guess it's a combination of delay and e-bow? Taking back to the first song of the album. Masterpiece
2020 halfway passed and I'm still getting amazed by this track. Love this band
I found a piece of my shattered soul today. I‘m in tears, this is the song of my life! Thank u!
This is brilliant!
That fucking outro....... wow....
It's how you truly end an album.
I love CoL to bits. You never know what the next track will bring.
Yea ya do. Metal. Screamo and awesome pure fucking metal music
@@DANIELlaroqustar, Cult of Luna definitely have never made "screamo."

@@DANIELlaroqustar slipknot is not screamo neither wtf, do you even know what screamo is
The climax of life.
More like dead death I am sorry
amazing
It actually almost remind me a chiller Deathspell Omega
Which is awesome
Absolutely the best ever!
I just discovered this!! Made my day!
When the streetlights fade,
warm rain like judgement descends.
Their voice numbs me,
speaking words in a dead tongue.
I have walked a road
that lead me back to you.
From a window our glances met,
my true colours I cannot hide.
The landscape has changed,
you don't recognise me,
these pictures slowly fade.
Memories wither, they are all gone.
Further down the steps get steeper,
you haunt me in my dreams.
I let go and fall deeper.
This will be the end of me!
If I were ever to be caught in a hurricane; this would be a befitting soundtrack.
F**k RUclips it played a ad after 2 minutes killing the intro.....
I can go to sleep with this musik!
I do.
If dying to death had a theme song.
une aventure
Просто кайф, хочется умереть под этот трек
люблю єту песню, (хохо)
That is Music. Not this kind of s*** what they play on the radio.
Cult Of Luna reminds me of ISIS
ISIS is one of my all time fav bands...and I couldn't agree more 🤘😈🤘
Can't like this one because the current count is at 666 like but the intention is there
I’m the 666th like!
that was a joke.

At first hearing it may be repetitive, but it is the gradual changes that are brought in that do it for me. The layers upon layers upon layers....

They say an unintelligent man has no patience and gets bored easily. Prog/post requires patience.
