Vidas Pinkevicius - Meditation on Cantate Domino, Op. 260 | VU St. John's Church

This meditation is based on the Gregorian chant Introit Cantate Domino. The tune is heard in the right hand part on the solo registration while the left hand and pedals play colourful ostinato patterns around it. This composition will be very effective in liturgical organ playing and concert programs whenever gentle and calm music is appropriate. Dedicated to my RUclips organist colleague ‪@philippelegargean5120‬. I recorded it at Vilnius University St. John's church. Hope you will enjoy it!

Cantate Domino takes me back to many years ago, part of a choir back in my 20s. I initially sang tenor but eventually sang bass (but could fill in for a tenor in a piece that called for it, and also had all of my hair, haha). Back when I could sing. I even dated a woman in that choir (an alto voice woman who was kind of a math and science type with a tomboy aesthetic).
