I am older and started riding a 22" BMX bike. I love it! Something like this has me very intrigued. I also ride mountain bikes, my current full suspension being a Salsa Rustler with 27.5 wheels. The Rustler is as close to feeling like a BMX bike than any mountain bike I have ever ridden. Having a Full Suspension 20" just seems like a super cool idea. Sure, I get the mindset of keeping BMX simple and the same as always, but that doesn't mean there isn't a place for a bike like this.
Bigger tires, Front and Rear Disc brakes, Suspension and the longer frame all makes so much sense! Suspension technology is so good that you can dial in the shocks for perfect rebound, preload and plushness to a riders liking. I would buy one in a heartbeat if they become available.

i *think* I remember that they used to ride similar in a form of downhill slope style racing at the X-Games back in the late 90s/early naughties.
I think they were BMXs with a small suspension fork only, rather than disk brakes, they still used BMX callipers 😵💫😀

Yoooo, I put dirt tires on my bmx bike and it changed the game, so stoked to see someone actually make a bmx mtb. Riding downhill on a 20" is so gnarly and fun because your trying to stay alive to.
Ruben is another BMX God.... He's in the rankings of Mirra, Nyquist, Hoffman, Miron, Martinez, Escamilla, Hall, etc.

I'm not sure why everyone went away from brakes, if anything we should have better brakes now!
When I read half pipes and did freestyle in the early 90's we always had brakes and used them for lots if tricks!

also you can literally get hydraulic rotational joints so barspins are no issue.

They tried to do this back in the 70s and 80s. This was before mountain bikes or at least mtbs with suspension. I believe there were weight issues and the shocks being used were lame. Also, I think BMXers deemed them unnecessary on the flat style courses of the day. The rigidity of the frame made their bikes more responsive and energy wasn't being wasted or lost on squishy shocks.
Yes, that’s my recollection too. We ate up the bumps on the trail and tracks with our bodies

Back in the day I/we recognized that it made sense to get as close to a real Moto design with our bikes, or add in other features. Problem is, back then fabricating skills and precision equipment wasn’t readily available to most teenagers. So we tried putting derailleurs on beach cruisers and things like that. In the end, when Specialized started advertising the Stumpjumper in the back of the BMX magazines, there was a collective sigh of, “finally!” I’m surprised at how long full suspension took to get to market. Now, I expect to see more “mullet” designs (though that should be more emo-business in back, party up front). Maybe single-sided swingarms.
we picked up a stump jumper off the side of the rode recently and brought it back to life with bmx parts.. still freaking FUN to ride.

Fill suspension BMX isn't new, it's been around since the late 70's.
Mongoose had a full suspension frame callex the Aftershock in the late 90's.
Yeah that thing weighed in around 40 lbs though

My dream bike! I've been imagining this kind of thing for a bit. I'm 50 (still feel 15 when I'm out playing on bikes) and still want to ride BMX. Had to get rid my 22" because it was destroying my body. Now I ride a DJ for the front suspension but it's not the same. Riding skateparks is less fun for me.
I've been dreaming of a full sus BMX to rip down the trails and jump sites, but with lockout suspension for park riding. Win win!
Maybe an aluminium frame though to offset the added weight of the suspension 🤔

I want one! Are they going into production? As a mtb rider disc brakes and suspension are great but I miss the maneuverability of a bmx, my body just can't handle the abuse of a traditional bmx anymore. This is great, thanks for showing us!

You can pump up The suspension to your weight! Rubens bike was a little too soft for me, so i tried The other one with more air, and it felt good🔥

I invented this 20yrs ago..i had an alloy mongoose bmx. Put a mtb crank an deralia with a racer 7 speed cog for 21 gears..even had v brakes an front suspension dint get the back sus on or discs. Ive still got the pictures of it
