He looks excellent! Certainly want to do something similar now
Those Badab War books and others by Alan Bligh remain largely unmatched IMO.
Would love to see a converted Retaliator demi-squad with him, perhaps with a corpse-taker too, a retinue worthy of the Tyrant's Champion.
I like the way you think
@@cultofpaint Could also add liaison officers/representatives from other allied chapters to shake things up, they'd likely be coordinating efforts
Love it. Great kitbash.
The servoskull gun also explains why a captain was only hitting on a 3+ which is nice.
I much prefer conversion videos to painting tutorials overall so I hope to see more like this. Grand job!
We’ll add them into regular rotation!
I love watching this! Please do show off more of your conversions. I think that's really cool and helpful.
We will for sure
0:41 the slow, guilty way of removing an empty drug bag from the lenses of the camera ;)
Keep the Badab stuff coming! There never is enough of it on youtube!
Plenty more coming :)
This is brilliant mate. Tiger claws was my first chapter. Corian Sumatris was my first character too. Honestly Hasan Wars is my fave story too.
i have many factions collected but no space marines yet, i want to make astral knights one day haha
Do it!
Nice, super chuffed to see that style of construction. Fingers crossed GW return to that with future SM kits!
You’ll struggle to turn him into a fish. But I believe in you.
@@cultofpaint ☺️😜
I've never seen these gap filling techniques before, I feel like it's opened up a ton of new options for my conversions
This looks superb 👌. I love converting its the best part of the hobby for me. Just wish I had the same passion and patience to paint well.
What a nice looking fellow! I’d start a revolution with him.
Brave freedom fighters
lookin good man!
I like watching kitbashes based on the Badab Wars and I like this model.
For the sake of variety conversion video's are always nice, but have come to like video's about personal projects (whatever they are) the most.
First video of yours I've seen. Subbed and liked
Thanks, welcome to the channel.
Great job, love kit bashing ...."Can I have some more please, Sir?"- Oliver Twist...
This was a nice kitbash. I hope we'll also get more like this
Was fun to film, so we’ll certainly try some more
Really nice! Very excited about plastic Heresy, and thanks for the tip reference the backpacks! I will definitely be using that on my Mk IIIs.
More plastic heresy would be amazing
i would love to see more of yalls kitbashing! please do more of these!
Ok!
Red corsairs / lufgt Huron , Huron blackheart favourite character in 40k.
I really hope we’ve seen a rumour engine pic of him
@@cultofpaint agreed I hope they get a new model for him and a full red corsairs supplement as it should be
Great to know that this kit can be so easily converted (especially compared to most modern GW kits).
I'm working on my own Fafnir model which I'm turning into a captain for my army, and I've just realised I used the exact same helmet from the same kit. Funny how things turn out lol
I think some more kitbash videos would be awesome
Ok then :)
Absolutely LOVE this video! I have found it really inspired me and kicked off some serious creativity! Cheers chaps! 👍🏼
Great to hear!
The grilled face without the helmet does give a Mk.IV look to it though, which does suit the Badab aesthetic
Sweet!
More kit bashing, looks great.
Ok, Thanks!
Would love to see some more badab
Oh it’s coming!
Very cool. Looking forward to the painting video.
those yellow hobby craft snips. best £11 ive ever spent
Most definitely would like to see more kitbashing videos.
Lovely work planning on getting one to covert to a world eater character, definitely up for more conversion vids
Thanks David, we’ll make sure to do a few more.
I'd like to see a tyberos, the red wake, conversion.
These books are on my grail list. Horribly expensive on the secondary market but I'll get them eventually. Nice video Brutha.
Certainly worth grabbing for a sensible price.
Cool. How does this figure scale with normal marines?
Chaos marine size
gorgeous. I'd love to see more like this
Would like to see more conversions vids for sure. Top notch
No problemo
Very nice work Henry! I forgot about that sword, even think I have one in my old WHFB bits box. Looking forward to you painting him up :).
I broke it today!!!!!
Lovely conversion Henry! Height-wise how do Rann and Zephon compare to Primaris? They look to be quite similar (if I had to guess).
Smaller than primaris mate. They are like the new chaos marines
Always love to see your conversion projects :D keep them up for sure, end result was fantastic!
Thanks
Another great video! And thanks for selling me Fafnir Ranns model :D Was really sceptical cause of the shield on his back.
Such a relief it was totally separate
I know this is probably never going to get seen but this just gave me an idea I converted abbadon into a war smith for my army only thing is the left hand is the sword hand not to big of an issue but I want the head of a death wing mace as his weapon I hadn’t seen the sprue of fafnir I didn’t quite realize the look of that left hand axe I am 100% going to turn that axe into my power mace
Would work great, it’s enormous!
Love how all the parts come together and looks so seamless! :) Can I ask, how big is the Fafnir model? Is it closer to primaris or chaos marine size?
Thanks! He’s chaos marine size
When will these be available to everyone? I loved the MK7 helmet, you should magnetize for more options!
Preorder today, for release in a week.
Excellent head choice! Bitter, stern and grim looking veteran. But where is the finished painted version?
ruclips.net/video/Ba02QdXKB4M/видео.html
Would love to see how you go about pruning down those round shields. Have an idea already, but want to know how someone a tad more experienced than I would go about it.
Sharp knife and sand paper.
I’ve been looking for part two of those books, but so has half the Community it seems :( seemingly impossible to obtain
Maybe one day they'll get a reprint, would be great.
Would love to see more kitbash/conversions videos ..one of my favourite aspect of the hobby
Thanks Stuart, we’ll certainly look at doing some more
Ooh exciting find. I've been tempted to do a small force from the Badaab wars, mixing in the new mkVI stuff with MkIV stuff I already have
Stellar conversion love the detail work. Heros never look at explosions... or wear helmets. Keep upthe great work.
Truth
I Love this video
Hi Henry the Badab wars are a great set and the conversion looks great. Looking forward to more videos.
Thanks dude, we’ll try and drop them in now and then.
His shield looks like a trash can lid
Not only they introduced more armor variants with a modern look I like how all marines have feasible bits available in either their resin kits or plastic so you could secure. Making doing the squads shown very possible and contributing the pseudo historical nature of the books. For example the retaliator squad show on 0:42 could be done with a company command kit and a mark 5 one.
well if you liked both heads use a small magnets its a bit of extra work but its wroth it
I wouldnt even bother with a magnet to be honest, little blob of blu tac is fine. I plan on repainting him soon.
wait.. a horus heresy plastic character? o.O ok didnt knew that thats a thing now.
Exciting right!
gor-jit is the pronouniation
I speed-read the thumbnail and thought it said Kabab Wars XD .
Sadly less delicious
Very cool model, my man 👍🏻
I adore seeing conversions and kitbashes, and I absolutely want to see more!
Very nice, only concern is the bare hand holding the sword
It’ll be painted as a glove ( I think it’s modelled as one) and the ring is a nice representation of his digital weapon wargear
More conversions please!
Absolutely love kitbash video and would love to see more.
Great!
MAY THE CLAW PROTECT!
Badab wars are amazing wish I had got them. Great video!
Beautiful books
If you cut the bottom prongs of of the quillons and the two side side blades it would look just like the sword of omens from the Thundercats
Oh. My. God.
I thought that's why you had picked that particular sword.
Great stuff, I’d love to see more kitbash videos like this
You got it!
Where is that layered shoulder pad on the sword arm from?
Space marine command set
I'd like to see your take on a kit bash from the carcarodons. I feel the red wake model does not do him justice but any carcarodon will be kick ass
Hmmm, kitbashes for every chapter you say???!
@@cultofpaint well that sounds like a kick ass idea 💡 every one gets a kit bash!!!!!
Will you change the sword hand? I think thats the only thing that i think needs changing. But this is EXACTLY what a space marine character should look like, cant wait to see him painted. Funny timing too, my friends are doing a badab killteam project as well!
I hope once painted it’ll work. Gloved
Really great video, I like these kinds of kitbash vids a lot. Also you're right, he's a really well-constructed model, might have to grab one and induct him into my legion.
I reckon we'll see some great conversions using him.
Awesome miniature! I Love that certain aesthetic a kit bashed model has before beeing primed/painted when all the different coloured parts can be seejn (f.e. green stuff/milliput etc.). Would definitely want to see more of these in the future. Love it!
I like that stage too. But also love it when all primed and preshaded, where you can tell how successful blending everything together has been.
Great video (and idea) Henry, would love to see more in this style. Also, I am now looking for the badab books online, my wife doesn't like you guys anymore.
Haha sorry!
Wouldn't be go deaf if the bolter shoot?
nah, space marine ears ;)
He looks great! I have a gripe with a lot of these newer HH character kits as HH models for various thematic reasons, but as far as using them for 40k kit bashing they are very tempting and you prove here how good it can be
I hope we see more of them. As a model kit Rann really is very nice.
Great stuff, I was wondering how you were getting on with your Astral Claws, it's been a while since we've heard about it. I really enjoyed this and the previous AC videos, they were a really good format. Hope you're keeping well and looking forward to seeing more.
The paint scheme failures killed the momentum a little. But hopefully we’re back on track :)
@@cultofpaint I can understand that. I had a few stumbling blocks when I tried to pick up your Deathguard scheme (especially as a completely new painter). I've not long got back on the horse recently and started pushing to finish those models after tinkering around elsewhere.
If you struggle with burn out or perfectionism then posting a very short video or community post might help?
I'm looking forward to the paint!
I ,too, enjoy the Badab style of asymmetrical shoulder pads. Especially for my playing an all-black painted army. You have to throw in as many tricks as possible to not make your whole army look like a featureless blob of base paint.
Yeah it's nice to play around with the pads isnt it
Any idea which kits the pads came from?
Love this! Would definitely watch more conversion content on this channel!
We’ll definitely work on some more
Is there any way to still get this book or is it a relic of time now?
Long out of print sadly. They pop up for reasonable price now and then though.
@@cultofpaint fair enough
Looks beautiful.
Thanks
Where is the servo skull from? FW?
Yep, mentioned it in the video.
@@cultofpaint Thanksss
