    Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
Anyone who listens to you play this genius Gershwin/Wild arrangement and doesn't just melt away and declare eternal love to you, the magical musician and pianist, has no heart or soul or even one atom of romance in their being!
Really just exquisite, Cole. Boy . . . can you 'swing'! It is just an extraordinary imagining by Wild of a great song and no-one could be 'good' for long after hearing your performance. This style of music makes you realise Mozart was misguided when he thought the organ was King of Instruments. And you are definitely King of Pianists: B R A V O ! (And now I need a cold shower!)

I listen endlessly to wild play his arrangements of Gershwin. I think he’s an extraordinary arranger and probably much under rated. His pianistic talent was also phenomenal. In his Gershwin recordings it’s always his passage work and voicing that stands out to me. I have this mental image of the keys kind of pulling up under his fingers as he plays and then falling away again as he moves on.
This is a terrific performance also with your usual precise voicing and you allow the music to flow gently and flexibly but inexorably from start to end
I can’t believe you didn’t talk to us about it 😳!

I know! Time pressure kept me from doing my usual commentary, but no worries I will provide one for the other pieces.
I also think Wild is one of the best arrangers-the only better ones for me are Rachmaninoff and Liszt himself!

@@TheIndependentPianist I’m trying to think of others but coming up empty. I asked the internet but it didn’t know either ! You may well be right. There is a great album of all of Wild’s transcriptions. No doubt you know it 😉

Cole I know you love Liszt have massive respect for his grander works. Your analysis of them is fantastic. Do you have any plans to discuss Pensee de Morts? Its his most profound piece for me. I think it has some deep similarities to the last movement of Mahlers 2nd also. Would love to hear what you think. All the best!
