  • The micro:rover from Freenove is a BBC micro:bit based robot that's easy to program and there's lots of help available online whether you're using Microsoft MakeCode or Python. It has lots of sensors built in as well as 12 LEDs and a buzzer. Once you get an 18650 rechargeable battery (not included), the robot takes care of charging and has a battery level indicator built in. In the STEM robots & drones series of videos, we bring you the best of STEM educational robots to make your purchasing easier.

    Line tracking doesn't work

I certainly didn't have any problems getting it to follow a line. Try experimenting with different thicknesses of line. I used black insulating tape and avoided having the robot next to the window so that there was high contrast between light & dark areas.
