"In the occult lore, Bartzabel is a name of the spirit of Mars, the planet of energy, action, desire and will. Aleister Crowley composed a particular ritual to evoke Bartzabel in which a magician is literally possessed by the spirit and serves as an oracle. The inspiration to this song comes from the performance of the rite that took place in the city of Krakow in October 2017 and lyrics are excerpts from Crowley’s ceremony."

Many of the named angels in canonical and extracanonical literature are aligned and somehow related to the planets and heavenly bodies. Occult literature (including Crowley's own Thelemic literature) holds Bartzabel as the planetary spirit of Mars.

I love that Behemoth is not just trying to replicate The Satanist and just building off of it instead. They are adding a lot of new things on this record. I love the more melodic riffs, while still being heavy, and all the choir vocals. They will still have some really heavy songs on the record that we haven't heard, but I love that they are continuing to evolve.

I am christian and i'm open minded like every christian, you wanted to say "church" instead.
Church made fucked up things not because those guys are christians, it's because they are people trying to get easy money with it, of course it's not everyone that belongs to the church.
There's a gospel that "the church" mention as heresy. It's the "gospel of Thomas". There's an old movie that calls that out, "Stigma", in the end of the movie there's one very important sentence witch says that you don't need church's or pay to church's to be with god, he will always be around you, of course when the Vatican heard about this and they didn't like it a bit and called a very very old and credible gospel heresy (the language of the gospel is coptic, greek).
How many millions of gold is the Vatican swimming ? Now that's the problem. It's like if I thought that I girl would be my wife because gave her money.
Jesus never asked for is disciples money, why does the church ask ?

So...i know i’m a bit late here and some have explained a bit more thoroughly, but this song is taken from Aleister Crowley’s ritual to invoke the spirit of Bartzabel. It’s based on his religion of Thelema and Qaballalistic views. The upside down triange is indeed a symbol of female anatomy but also the alchemical symbol of water but also a reference to decending power from the spiritual to the physical plane, or descending power. The normal triangle is the symbol for fire and indicates ascending power or man becoming closer to God. Ra-hoor-khuit is the primary deity of his relgion Thelema, who is is the god of the Aeon of Horus, the 20th century. The purpose of the ritual is to call upon all the gods mentioned in order to invoke and subjugate the spirit to the magickian’s command and do as he says, the purpose of the ritual was to control the spirit and to obtain answers from him about the mysteries of the universe and to serve the magician, hence calling on elohim and saraphim. The ritual was written by Aleister Crowley and some of the lyrics directly come from his writing. Hope that clarifies some things.

@39:40 As far as I understand upside down cross is not meant to be offensive at all, at least not in Nergal's version of satanism. It's all about symbolism, the upside down cross is the inversion of the order, putting the "man" on top and God at the bottom. That could offend some people, but the main purpose isn't to offend, it's to raise and empower us, the humans.

    • @MensHominis

On your tangent on war deities, Bartzabel is the angel of Mars as a planetary spirit in Western Occultism.
Sammael is one of my favourite Abrahamic figures, though is more explored in Jewish Talmudic literature and Islamic mystic folklore and has declined in connotational use in the West. Sammael was the consort of the first woman, Lilith, and with her fathered the abominations of the earth. Sammael was the angel of death who visited upon all the firstborn of Egypt. He was guarddian of Esau and the patron of Edom. He is chief of the 5th Heaven and his name means "The Venom of God".

I'll try to explain Ra-Hoor-Khuit as best as i can. Maybe you will understand the Video a little bit better.
Ra-Hoor-Khuit is from the Liber AL by Aleister Crowley (Thelema)
He is the Deity/Principle of the new Aeon (Deity/Principle of Deeds and Reality) he basicly corresponds with the oldegyptian Horus.
To Understand better, view it as a Principle, not a Deity.
According to Crowleys kabalistic knowledge ist "Ra = the Sun" , "Hoor = The Warrior" and "Khu = The World View". Khu is the intermediary stage between God and Human.
With the adition of the hebrew "Jod" Crowley wanted to epitomize the transformation to divinity. Sybolic Ra Hoor Khuit is depicted as a Red descending Triangle - Thats most likely the Symbol he made with his Hands.
So to break it down as best as i can...
    TL;DR
Ra Hoor Khuit is a Thelema principle, where through action/deeds and reality you transform from human to divinity or to reach a state between God and Human.
Which fits Nergals view pretty well..
    Just saying Nietzsches "Übermensch".
Hope i could help you out a little bit with that.
    Much love from Germany!
Also if you took your time to read to all of that i would love to see a reaction to "Helrunar - Devils, Devils Everywhere!" its a German Band.. and the song covers a dark part of Christian History.

Vin is coming out so smart, i can't take christianity seriously though. I just cant considering where i've grown up and what i have learned in my life, its impossible for me now. But i must say, Vin is sucking you in when he starts with his analysis, its like great storytelling and he makes religion, if you dont take it too seriously -a great interesting fantasy story and i love fantasy so i cant complain. Anyway guys, i love you and this channel. Your channel has made me appreciate this kind of music even more. For example when you analyzed CoF - Her Ghost in the Fog. My respect for Dani Filth increased so much, cause i never really analyzed the lyrics myself. I just thought it was a good song. Keep up the good work, can't wait for your next video, my adventure.

    MERCYFUL FATE - The Oath
NERGAL on 'The Oath': “I was a kid and I don’t even remember if I was interested in heavy metal back then. My brother’s friend presented me this song saying, ‘This is a real satanic mass’. He didn’t even know the name of the band since it was one of many songs recorded on this compilation tape. I was terrified by what I heard but at the same time I couldn’t stop listening to it. There was something very captivating. It took me years to finally realise what band it was. I became a die hard fan ever since.”

They should do a thorough review of the entire Don't Break the Oath album (if the have the guts for it). Also Venom & Bathory... these 3 not are not just inspirational bands, they are the very source of all todays' extreme metal. It would also be cool to see them react to some 70s and 2010s occult rock. David Bowie's Black Star video is also full of occult and interesting symbolism.

YES!! Glad you saw my post. BXE, that’s me! This song was very different than what we’ve heard from them. It’s progression for the band, indeed. I’ve dropped some notes below.
•Ra Hoor Khuit is from Thelema. A manifestation of Horus of the Two Horizens. Check the Book of Law from Aleister Crowley.
•Purple flame refers to the violet flame, the mercy flame, flame of forgiveness. Surprised you was unsure of this reference.
•The triangle, the all seeing eye, a symbol of enlightenment, eye of Horus, eye of Lucifer, also represents the rejection of the right hand path. Also. The Illuminati.
•If Sori wishes to learn about Thor and those other gods. I recommend reading the Norse poetics.
•Khem could represent man and Hoor could represent women. Check Egyptian, Arabic text. Might be something there.
•As for some of the other text, I’m unsure. I could research some more if needed.
•Fun fact, most US national holidays, days of the week are Pagan. There is actually a lot of Paganism throughout our culture that most common people do not know are Pagan.
Thank you both for doing this video. I really enjoyed the analysis.

You guys are the best! I was hoping you'd review this one. I enjoy listening to your reviews, they're fun and insightful and,not trying to rake anyone over the coals but I grew up in church,my father played piano and guitar for the church and my grandfather was the preacher, that being said,it's an absolute pleasure to see Christians who can appreciate good music and discuss opposing views without being hateful and looking down on others. I applaud you, from my experience, that's pretty rare. As far as Behemoth,I think the band seems to evolve with every album and watching several interviews with Nergal,he seems to be a very thoughtful man, like his mind never stops,a mad scientist lol.

The triangle symbol they do with their hands, I assume, is in reference to the alchemical symbols of fire and water. Fire is represented by an upwards facing triangle and water by a downwards facing triangle. The alchemical symbol of water is often associated with femininity, growth, and fertility while the symbol of fire is associated with masculinity, war, passion, etc.

    • @LOLcifer_
      @LOLcifer_ 5 лет назад +1

Haha, in tarot they're usually represented as Wands (fire) and Cups (water), at least in the Rider-Waite deck style. Blades are usually associated with the element of air, and pentacles as earth.

    • @Luemm3l
      @Luemm3l 5 лет назад +1

all are correct, you could go on and say that a chalice is "recieving", thus passive, while a blade is something you strike with, so it is "giving" in a sense and "active". Water and Earth as elements are also consisdered passive (feminine), while air and fire are deemed active (masculine). Then you have corespondency with the seasons and stuff like solstices... I could go on... occultism can be quite fascinating.

There's a fantastic explanation of cups and swords in either book 2 or 3 of promethea by Alan moore. I'd go and find it, and put it here, but then you wouldn't have to read promethea and it's an absolutely beautiful piece of literature so you should read it. Also it's a comic book and the art is mind blowing.
