Hopefully you wash your hands REALLY well after handling the lead coated swabs as well as the bolt. Most primer manufacturers STILL use lead styphnate and it is flying everywhere when you shoot. Be careful of lead buildup in your body folks

I sometimes 'dip' the barrel brush in #9 and then don't draw the brush backward through the Barrel.

No. Just a very light application to remove debris, small amount goes a long way.

Are you sure that you don’t need to wet the brush with cleaning liquid before brushing?! Dry brush will damage the barrel.

No because brass is much softer than steel.

I’d still use some solvent to wet the barrel first . Been doing it that way for 50 years and it’s always done me right .
