Very well done, your little Victorian Village. I'm a Mexican lady of 75 . In Mexico everyone put up a Bethlehem village for the birth of Jesus. To most people it was just very plain but when we came to Chicago to live, my mom saw the abundance of supplies we had so she would make her village huge, on top of her dinning room sideboard. Instead of snow, she used dried moss on top of an aluminum base so that when all the moss was in place to simulate hills so she could build the sheep and shepherds, she would spray the moss with water and in a few minutes it would perk up, turn a nice green and we had grass. Every day she kept up her misting and we had a large Bethlehem Village. I continued the tradition when I got married and so did my sister. In time. I made ANOTHER scene in my house, a Santa Village with toys, trains and elves helping santa. It took me years to find the right little characters but I also had fun setting up my villages. You did such an excellent job with yours.Your village is all lit up too. Bet it looks gorgeous at night. Keep it up. Creativity abounds.
Thank you so much!! I am toying with the idea of doing a Village for Easter by recreating the resurrection. I am having trouble finding figurines though. Do you have any suggestions for me? I never thought to spray the moss I use, thanks for the tip! 😄
@@MiriamsManner Hi Miriam! You can't find items for your theme because that was never manufactured. No Resurrection items. You can do an EASTER BUNNY theme, but nothing for Resurrection. If you need bunny items, I used to find those in Craft stores such as Michael's but the items are very small. I used them inside Easter Eggs PANORAMIC EGGS made of sugar. You can look those eggs on youtube. Christmas items were designed back in the 50's, 60's and 70's for Woolworth Dept. Stores. There was a big demand for Christmas religious villages but not anymore. Those items have to be found on sale on ebay from the children of original owners that passed away or at garage sales. That means shopping for items all year long. Good luck on this theme.

@@MiriamsManner Thank you. I admire your courage to post this video. You're authentic and down to earth. You did a great job and I got ideas. I have my 4 x 8 platform built and about 12 houses I've had for 30 years. I don't have time to try to put it together now. I have too much going on, however, it could be a neat winter project. Hello Paula, thanks so much for the compliment. I hope you are able to to put your out this year. Villages always make Christmas a little more special. 😄
Thank you for this video. So many others are far too complicated. I am not a carpenter or an engineer. This is a good starting point to begin the process of putting up a village that I can understand.
Hello, you are very welcome, it is my pleasure. I wanted to put videos together that would be for beginners as well as more experienced villagers. You've just made me want to put up my village this year for the first time in 20 years. You've made it look amazing. Thanks for all your advise and tips.
I just found your channel and totally in love with all your ideas... I have had a village for 28 years this Christmas. My original plan was to add a new building piece each year, but one year my mom and Nana gave me 11 pieces at Christmas... I was so excited. They are mostly Walmart brand and a few others she found at an Eckerd’s Drug store but they go perfectly. The last few years I haven’t wanted to put it out, but I tell myself no you need to. So i decided i need to change it up & started looking at youtube. Im totally inspired to revamp it for next year. My boys graduate this next year and i know its a ways, but I want to keep it going for grand babies someday and well it just makes me happy too! God bless and Merry Christmas!
Hello Chrissy, thank you very much! I’m glad you are reinvigorated to restart your village. Your future grand babies are going to love it and you would get joy from it in the meantime. 😂. Merry Christmas and God bless you too!
I asked for houses for Christmas and bought more after the new year. I'm hoping to get the accessories but it's hard to find people. Now I have the houses just laid out on the table. I can't wait to have a village for Christmas this year and improve it every year
@@MiriamsManner Hi. Thank you for responding but i don´t live in states so even if i would be able to order it the shipping price would probably be crazy
Very nice! It’s a good inspiration to make a small villa. Thank you for sharing your Beautiful Christmas villa. Best regards from walnut Cree, California.
Mariam, excellent work, thank you for sharing. By the way, nice introduction and close, pretty lady, wonderful smile, thank you for letting us see a little of your magic.
i bought foam board today...am going to glue pieces to it, making sidewalks out of clay, miniature flower pots, i'm putting in trees without leaves...just using small branches off my tree, going to make a miniature trellis, gazebo, fence around the village, i'm so excited
Thanks for letting me know about the playlist. Just what I needed because I have a small space to set up. I have 2 glass shelving units that I will display them on. Your tips really helped and I’m hoping it will flow well.
Enjoyed watching this so much. You're right, the trees make such a huge difference. 🎄🌲🎄🌲 I'm going out tomorrow to get some to add to my village. Thank you so much for sharing your cute set up.
Love it. Couple of more tricks - roadway - use a blow dryer to flatten the bumps out as a result of rolling it up for storage, the heat helps to flatten it. Another trick is using the TreeMote for your village. Acts like a remote without having to dig around to plug in.
Hello Jim, Thank you so much for that tip, I would have never taken a blow dryer to my roads to straighten them. I normally just try to flatten them with books! 😂😂. I will share this tip with our group. I do use a remote control outlet for my village so I don’t have to dig for plugs. I don’t like doing that either. For my large display, I used to crawl under my table to turn everything on. No more!! 😃 I haven’t heard of a TreeMote but it sounds similar to what I use. I will google it and check it out! Thanks again and happy new year!!
This was such a helpful video for me, as I have never done a village but would like to start this year. We just moved into a new house and are kind of struggling to find our way with our usual traditions in these new spaces. I hope to create a warm and sparkly scene to create a little magic and nostalgia for our family. The end result of your setup was so beautiful and gives me hope I can do something similar. Thank you so much!
Hello Julianne, Thank you so very much. I’m glad you were able to get inspiration from this video. Whatever you come up with, I know it will be special and create wonderful memories for your family.
@@MiriamsManner Thank you! I forgot to ask: is there a particular place that you pick up the trees of various sizes? It was amazing that when you started adding them in, it totally took the scene to the "real deal" level!
I get my trees everywhere and I also make a lot of my own trees. Have you seen any of my other videos? I do have a whole Christmas village playlist that has tons of videos and helpful tips for beginners. The trees I do buy, I get from Walmart, Michaels, and a few of the taller trees you saw I got from Ross.
I love the way you got it to look so beautiful. I set mine up in a bookcase and it was just not doing it for me. Going set it up on a table and mimic what you did somewhat. My village is about 20 years old so I weeded out some of the pieces that did not make it over the years and am left with 10 houses that I love and lots of things to go with!! Can't wait to bring the table down and start!!
Hello Irene, I’m glad you found the other videos and they were helpful! 😃. You can always reach out with any questions that I might forget to cover in the video. I do read my comments and respond! ☺️ Sometimes it’s hard to remember every detail to include in the videos. Plus, I’m still pretty new at this so your feedback is helpful. I have tried to do a better job of incorporating those things in my newer videos.
I would love to see a video on using an existing book shelf for the display, I am struggling to find ideas on what works best for a backdrop other than the dark wood of the shelves plus their is such a limit on getting various heights.
Hello Jamie, I actually do not own one bookshelf in my house to show you but I can think of a few ideas you could try. First, you can get placemats or a roll of fabric from Joann’s that you can cut to size and use as a backdrop. I have attached a few links as examples for you. www.amazon.com/HOSNYE-Healthy-Forest-Washable-Placemats/dp/B0925J5L61/ref=mp_s_a_1_16?crid=3KHUF0AR72C5C&keywords=forest+placemats&qid=1694747161&sprefix=forrest+placemats%2Caps%2C215&sr=8-16 www.joann.com/blue-tonal-sky-keepsake-cotton-fabric/18798975.html You could also use tall slender Christmas village trees the height of your shelves in the background. I hope these suggestions help you. 😁

Me and my wife are enjoying this you are very talented and make it pleasurable to watch. Would you consider sometimes just putting the lights on in the village and turn off the house late so we can see it with the nighttime ambience?
Thank you guys so much for watching. I’m so glad you enjoy the videos. Unfortunately, I took that village down a while ago but I did do a nighttime view of my main village. Hello Tammi, welcome to our Christmas family 😄 and thank you for subscribing. Vintage Christmas sounds wonderful. I have been collecting Christmas ornaments since I was 19. I have some of my mother’s old glass ornaments from the 80’s but that’s as far back as my collection goes.
I do things differently when I put up a train layout at work for the employees. I don't use the styrofoam blocks, preferring to use that space for people or scenes, room for a Lionel bump and go trolley,or if you have room, loop of track. I too use the 4 or 5 light cord to cut down on plugs and wires. So start out by putting down a layer or blanket of snow. It looks like felt on a roll. Then put the houses down and put the lights into them. Plug them into a six way strip just like you do. They should light up. Then put in the battery powered street lights, like you, I use a power adapter. Put them on the house side of the street, hide the wire for the battery lights under the houses, so only the wire between the houses is exposed. The lights don't need to be glued this way. Once the lights are in the houses, the battery street lights are up, cover all the wires behind the houses with blanket snow, some call it buffalo snow, it looks like something you would stuff a pillow with. Now put some trees between the houses to further hide any wires, and to mask the depth of the snow behind the houses. Next, sprinkle some loose snow, it looks like shredded plastic, over the battery powered street light wires exposed between the buildings. If it done correctly, the wires and plugs for the house lights, the battery pack and adapter for the street lights will be covered and out of sight. Last, make a scene for the people by positioning them to show a story, last sprinkle more of the loose snow around the people. The loose snow comes in two flavors, one basic white, the other is iridescent white which I like better. I've also found that something that moves gives the display some life, like skaters in a pond, or hockey players on a pond, or even a windmill that rotates. Anyway that's how I do it. Just take whatever ideas you think will help you. Oh,the bump and go trolley is designed to run-on a straight section of track, but will also run on a loop. The trolly has a bumper at each end, and when it bumps the bumper at the end of the track it reverses direction and proceeds to travel to the other end bumper and reverse direction again. So it keeps going back and fourth. Just an idea. Merry Christmas!
Hello Joseph, this is not at all how I set up my village. This was in inspiration build for beginner just getting started with small spaces. Check out my channel to get an idea of the villages I create.

Thank you for showing me (us) this is possible in a very small area. Beautiful and so are you. Merry Christmas to you and your Family.
Thank you so much Tammy. Have a very merry Christmas!!
Looks fantastic, especially when the lights came on. And the accessories and trees finish the whole picture. Nice work gorgeous.
Thank you so much!! ☺️
You did a beautiful job. Love the way you set up everything and it’s lovely to look at. Thank You.
Thank you so much! 😀
I asked for houses for Christmas and bought more after the new year. I'm hoping to get the accessories but it's hard to find people. Now I have the houses just laid out on the table. I can't wait to have a village for Christmas this year and improve it every year
Hello Kat, have you been to ehobbytools.com? They have hundreds of figurines.
@@MiriamsManner Hi. Thank you for responding but i don´t live in states so even if i would be able to order it the shipping price would probably be crazy
I love your village! It looks so beautiful.
Thank you very much!
Very nice! It’s a good inspiration to make a small villa. Thank you for sharing your Beautiful Christmas villa. Best regards from walnut Cree, California.

Aw, thank you so much Mark! You are very welcome! 😄
Beautiful
Thank you! 😃
Beautiful village, I really like how you setup and every piece, the trees really help, I like the little mailbox and phone booth.
Thank you so much! 😄
i bought foam board today...am going to glue pieces to it, making sidewalks out of clay, miniature flower pots, i'm putting in trees without leaves...just using small branches off my tree, going to make a miniature trellis, gazebo, fence around the village, i'm so excited
Oh my gosh!! That sounds so fantastic. Please send me pics once you are done.
Now you will have me buying all manner of holiday village pieces.
Thanks a lot
New to your channel It is lovely and your work is amazing
😂🤣. Thanks so much!
Gorgeous. You make it look so easy.

You did a great job explaining all of this. It looks like so much fun, and look how festive the village is. Thanks for the video.
Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it! 😄
Perfect thank you for making it so easy
You’re welcome 😊
Beautiful 😁👍🏻
Thank you.
Thanks for letting me know about the playlist. Just what I needed because I have a small space to set up. I have 2 glass shelving units that I will display them on. Your tips really helped and I’m hoping it will flow well.
Nice, glad they helped. Happy villaging! 😁
Oh my gosh this is beautiful!!! Good job, thanks for the tips!
Thank you very much and you are welcome!
Love your ideas
Thank you so much! 😀
Really nice set up... thanks for the tips
You are very welcome! 😃
Enjoyed watching this so much. You're right, the trees make such a huge difference. 🎄🌲🎄🌲 I'm going out tomorrow to get some to add to my village. Thank you so much for sharing your cute set up.
Thanks Lisa and you are very welcome!
Love it. Couple of more tricks - roadway - use a blow dryer to flatten the bumps out as a result of rolling it up for storage, the heat helps to flatten it. Another trick is using the TreeMote for your village. Acts like a remote without having to dig around to plug in.
Hello Jim,
Thank you so much for that tip, I would have never taken a blow dryer to my roads to straighten them. I normally just try to flatten them with books! 😂😂. I will share this tip with our group.
I do use a remote control outlet for my village so I don’t have to dig for plugs. I don’t like doing that either. For my large display, I used to crawl under my table to turn everything on. No more!! 😃
I haven’t heard of a TreeMote but it sounds similar to what I use.
Hello Julianne,
Thank you so very much.
I love your Christmas village !
Thank you very much for the idea! I used to set up on my kitchen counter but this year I will use a console! 😉
You are very welcome! 😄
Beautiful! Thank You so much for sharing 🌹
You are very welcome!
Very interest and helpful video , thanks lady
Hello Giovany, I’m glad it was helpful! You are welcome! 😊
Hey Barbie, I’m glad to help with some ideas. I have already started my village 😂😂😂, I just can’t wait.
Great Work on a small place, with really good ideas. Tha´s what I´ve been looking for. Thank you for this video ;-)
So glad this has helped Ro!! 😄
This is so cute 😊
Thanks.
wonderful tutorial thank you!
You are very welcome!
Lady, you need to be doing voice anime !!! No joke ! Bless up !! and Merry Christmas to you, hubby and fam from Vancouver, Canada Cheers !🥂
😂🤣😁. Thank you William. That is the first time I have ever heard that. Merry Christmas to you and your family as well.
I love your videos ❤️
Thanks so much!
Very cute!
Thank you!
THIS is what I was looking for! Ty! Happy holidays :)
Hello Irene, I’m glad you found the other videos and they were helpful! 😃.
You can always reach out with any questions that I might forget to cover in the video. I do read my comments and respond! ☺️
Sometimes it’s hard to remember every detail to include in the videos. Plus, I’m still pretty new at this so your feedback is helpful. I have tried to do a better job of incorporating those things in my newer videos.
And your little village will wow people.
Thanks Pete! 😁

You could also use tall slender Christmas village trees the height of your shelves in the background.
I hope these suggestions help you. 😁
Wow ty for sharing that video...
You are very welcome Bernie!
So lovely!
Thank you!
Awesome video! This helped me a lot with my village!
Thank you so much, I’m so glad it has helped! 😃
Hi Miriam like you I also likes Christmas and I really like to make a Christmas village but unfortunately I can't because we can't buy those stuff. We are poor, my husband is only a carpenter . That's why I watch most of the video that create or have a Christmas village on it to make me happy.
Hello Miriam,
I’m glad you enjoy my video. Please check out all of the other Christmas village videos I have on my channel.
Do you happen to live in AZ? I have extra buildings I don’t use that often I could give you.
Good will salvation army that how i started mine
Ur really a great soul immediately u wanna help others May the almighty God bless you abundantly have a wonderful Christmas I loved ur creativity thank you so much
Beautiful!
Thank you! 😄
I have attached the link for that video below.

New subbie here.i love Christmas, especially if its vintage Christmas
Hello Tammi, welcome to our Christmas family 😄 and thank you for subscribing. Vintage Christmas sounds wonderful. I have been collecting Christmas ornaments since I was 19. I have some of my mother’s old glass ornaments from the 80’s but that’s as far back as my collection goes.
Super CUTE!
Thank you! 😄
Very nice
Thank u for your tips
Thank you!!

Awesome, I learned some new tips from this, thank you,!!
Great! You are welcome! 😄
I love your videos. You are awesome!!
Ah, thanks so much! That is so sweet. 😃
Thank-you! I learned some great tips!
Hello Linda,
That is awesome. Glad to help! 😄
I love your village and your soothing voice. Can you provide a link for the cobblestone road?
Hello MaryDee, thank you so much!! I have attached a link to my last Christmas village quick tip video. In this video, I will walk you through how to print that road towards the end of the video.
