For match velocity the A or X depends what kind of controller youre using. Xbox is A and Playstation is X. I meant to add a little text bubble but forgot...so here ya go lol.
One enormous tip that I would give to people is: trust the game. When you don’t understand a certain mystery, don’t look it up online, just keep exploring other areas, even go to another planet if you have to. The Outer Wilds ALWAYS has answers to your questions, sometimes they are just in a completely different planet. I spoiled several mysteries for myself because I couldn’t figure it out on my own only to find that if I explored another planet first it was easily explained.
This is the only game I haven’t looked online to solve a puzzle, this game causes so much curiosity I want to puzzle it together myself. Love this game so far
Adding on to this: Nothing in the game is difficult to do. If you’re finding something difficult, you don’t know how you’re actually supposed to do it.
@@systemofadown945 I think the obvious is to start with the moon. Then do whatever you want. Once you get stuck on one planet and don't know what to do, just move onto another, and hopefully you'll find an answer to the previous planet along the way.
The one thing on this list that I only discovered halfway through the game is that you can use the scout as a light. So many times I was annoyed at how dark an area is and how inadequate the torch feels.
I finished the game and only in this video I recently found out about altimeter at the side of the ship during landing mode, the eject button and eating marshmello gives you health... derp
Yeah! Thats what made me want to make this video. Most videos I see these 10 tips for are like "r2 shoots. crazy right?". But I knew people will have missed some of these things! Glad you learned something new!
The first time you go through the trajectory of the sun is a wild feeling, you press auto pilot, not expecting the freaking SUN to block your path. So you eventually see a bright light in your screen and look up, but it's already too late
Tip 10.5: the scout launcher has a secret Photo mode that can be utilized by pressing left or right without launching the scout. This allows you to quickly take photos (and see ghost matter zones) without having to recall the scout each time you need a new camera position.
Just a good tip in general is to use the HECK out of the scout: It gives you a boost in the opposite direction when airborne; It gives off light, You can check a structures stability and it shows you exactly WHERE ghost matter is located. (The latter I hadn't figured until it was way too late because I had thought ghost matter is always indicated by the little glas diamonds 🤦🏻♂️😭) Of course many times you are required to use it to work out story bits too. The scout quickly became my best friend ingame and I didn't even know its full potential. Remember its your friend and it will always come back!
another tip you might find useful while floating in space is that when launching the scout, outside of a gravity field, it will push you 4m/s in the opposite direction from the recoil. good for when you need to try and save fuel in dire situations 😅
Saving doesn't enable till like half an hour after you take off (critical lore reasons, there is no other way), so reserve 1-2 hours for first session.
I really wish I had the love for this game that I’ve witnessed from other players. I feel like if I’m not wandering around to try and find my destination in 20 minutes, I’m repairing my ship or getting shot out into space.
@@mikelagaffe personally, at the start of each loop, I try to have a clear goal in mind, eg, to follow a quantum signal or go to a specific place. That way, it's less likely you'll run out of time for an area. It can be quite easy to get frustrated in outer wilds as it is very easy to die or get stuck, so maybe, if you do get frustrated in the game, try going somewhere else, either to find more clues or to just have a break for that area and come back with a fresh mind. I particularly struggled with the caves of ember twin, due the time pressure and how easy it is to get lost. If you're starting on a planet, I recommend finding the traveller there first, as they can give you hints on where to explore and conditions on the planet. There are a lot of forces in outer wilds, so it's very easy to crash and break your ship, so definitely use auto pilot as much as possible. Although, as the video said, beware of anything you could collide with, especially the sun because it has a very strong gravity, so if you notice you're about to crash, abort auto pilot and try to get out of the way. I hope that this isn't too late a message lol. If it is I hope you had fun playing, and if it isn't I hope you are willing to give it another go :)
So useful! Some of these things I learned the hard way 😂 well done video! The scariest thing for me is when I get lost in space without my ship...like if I get sucked up in a cyclone in giants deep, next thing u know I’m floating in space. Only once I was able to actually make my way back to the ship by simply not panicking or giving up. Love this game, peaceful and horrifying at the same damn time.

I started watching your videos like a week ago jus because the game is so small yet so vast & your videos do such a good job of capturing that. Simple put, You are “The Outer Wilds” of Lore on RUclips Mr. Lore Explorer.
This is a silly comment. People like different sorts of games. I've played ow, subnautica, and watched obra din. Ow is still my favorite and I would consider it the work of a genius.
1:40 It sounds so obvious when you put it like that, but that was the difference for me between landing on the moon and my first attempt, which involved bouncing so hard on it I broke every part of the ship and desperately attempting repairs while hurtling at max speed straight into the sun.
Hey I just wanna say how much you helped me! I was getting really frustrated about breaking all my ship before actually landing, going straight into the sun or just being launched at the emptiness of the universe without having a clue of what I was doing wrong. I thought maybe I was just bad at the game and decided to search tips before giving up. It was your video that made me want to play more and discover every part of this new world(s). Also, thanks to you I'm going full blindly into the game! I actually searched some spoilers when I was exploring the moon and I regret it a lot. Anyway, thank you for your video and your tips! I'm hoping to enjoy every bit of this game just like you did and I'm looking forward to come back and watch your other videos when I finish the game!
See I understand people not knowing a few of those things, BUT HOW DO YOU NOT NOTICE THE GLOWING COMPUTER AT THE BACK OF YOUR SHIP IT'S SUCH A TINY SHIP
@@jackcook9005 I was guilty of that no doubt. Cause, the whole loop dynamic. For at least the first 20 loops it was instinctually elevator, suit, seat. The blue flash of light just seemed decorative.
I think because there is so much info to soak in from the very beginning. I mean the whole point of this game is essentially to tell you NOTHING. For example I didnt notice the computer until the second [in-game] day simply because I was constantly learning so many other things.
This was definately one of my favorite/most fun games ive ever played. It was just executed perfectly! The first couple minutes of this game were peobably my favorite first couple minutes of a game I've ever played! I REALLY felt like I was a little alien on a little rock in some little rick-and-morty world, and I loved every second of it! Its just a beautiful game, i love how you can look down and see your body, that was 100 percent the reason i loved this game so much, lol, the jumping felt so real and immersive, it just sucked me right in.
One little thing can definitely make a huge difference. I remember my first death I had no idea I could hold a key to move at the same speed as objects. It was TECHNICALLY possible to beat the tutorial on ship repairs without using that, but needless to say not a good idea to be attempting repairs while hurtling at ludicrous speeds through space while not knowing that.
>i am the lore explorer and this is Outer Wilds This words make me crying just like Outer Wilds ost and marshmallows. You a perfect youtuber for this game. ;-;
My rules of thumb about when to slow down when approaching a planet : I make my speed about 1/10 of my distance. when I'm between 2000 and 7000 m from the planet. If I'm further away, I need to brake earlier than 1/10 of the distance (at 10km, 1000m/s is too fast), but at less than 2000m and 200m/s, I can just eyeball it and stop looking at the numbers.
Only finished this game a few months ago just soon before the dlc release and its a great game, im am tho sad I missed the altimeter on the landing cam untill close to end would have been quite nice to use more of and I can't wait to see what the devs make next
SPOILER ALERT Hey TLE, I've just played the game and loved the story but I'm having some trouble understanding a couple details and thought about maybe discussing it with you and your viewers here. What is bugging me is especially how Hollow works as a planet: as time passes it seems to have some segments being pulled towards the black hole in its center, until it's mostly destroyed right? But it only starts when the time loop starts.. did this "land falling down" thing never happen before? Are we or the time loop in some way important enough for this to be happening now? The only explanation i've thought about is that the about-to-happen supernova and the increase of energy surrounding the sun may have ignited the process only now, and the planet was stable until then. Either way I thought there might be a more lore-ish explanation for that I couldn't think of. Thanks for reading all of this and sorry for possible english mistakes, love the videos
Hey bud. The Nomai do mention having to worry about falling debri over 200,000 years ago. So it has been falling for a while. Why the whole surface is still left in tact after so long? Its sort of meant to be a mystery. In the Alpha, hornfels equivalent tells us the solar system is beginning to go crazy. The hurricanes on giants deep. The sand transfer. And Brittle Hollow began breaking apart. In the real game they dont explain it. But, in an email interview with the dev he mentioned that brittle hollow has intrinsic gravitational properties in its crust. Maybe thats whats held it together for so long. As well as it being beaten down by time, having small pieces fall off the bottom of the crust every time something hit. but thats just my guess
I am NOT a gamer, I only play walking simulators on PC. This game is straight up too hard for me. I cannot control the ship or the jetpack I'm a disaster lol
The most frustrating thing for me was finding out that there was a turbo boost on the jetpack only after like 20 loops. I don't know why I never noticed, but it's nice to know early on.
I wish I knew some of these when I started! It took me a while to work out the signal detector, since I accidentally skipped the tutorial for it in the village.
I actually really like that's A thing though. Like you're not forced into the tutorial. And even when doing it, it's not entirely clear that's what's happening.
@@TheLoreExplorer Yeah! And same with the antigravity tutorial in the core of Timber Hearth. I happened to walk past the sign a few hours before finishing the game and was like, 'Wait WHAT?'.
I knew about the eject button because I somehow hit it accidentally during one of my many moments of forgetting which button was which because XBox controllers have swapped A with B and X with Y compared to a SNES controller.
Its probably one of the most under used things in the game. I use it all the time. I guess just for accurate landings. not like its needed but it makes it feel a bit more realistic.
@@TheLoreExplorer I mean I knew it could be useful but I saw it as a “training wheels” sorta thing if that makes sense and I was like “I wanna just wing it!”
Just watched a different guide of similar length and they didn't mention any of this stuff other than there's a computer on the ship. I might actually venture a try again after repeatedly crashing because I didn't realize it was being actualy hard sci-fi realistic meaning I have to accelerate half the way there and then decelerate or lock on for the second half. Great guide!
I mean the Outer wilds did. I have watched youtubers like oxhorn or manyatruenerd and really wanted to do what they did. I loved fallout and knew the game new Vegas like the back of my hand. But I never worked up the inspiration or drive to invest hundreds of dollars in recording equipment and a mic until. I played outer wilds. The game moved me so much I wanted to share that with as many people as possible.
I agree. But I found this to be hard. I got this gut feeling that without proper direction or guide, it's gonna be pain in the ass to beat the game. And this loop this is fucking bad!
I have only once seen the auto pilot as an option. I don’t understand why I can’t use it. Match velocity is wonderful but I’d love the opportunity to use autopilot like the rest of the players.
I’m on Xbox. I can choose a planet (white brackets appear). How do I lock on? I’m so frustrated I’m ready to quit. By the time I catch up to a planet and land, I have little time left to explore before the sun explodes.
Nothing happens. The only time auto pilot kicks in is when I’ve strayed too far from the solar system. I did manage to activate it once while looking at the map, but it’s never worked since. I’ve held the up arrow, I’ve clicked it. Double clicked it, and thrown it across the room. Another strange thing is I don’t see the “meditate” option you mentioned. Ah well, I’ll look at it again tomorrow before giving up on it. It’s a beautifully done game. I just wish I could get to where I want without banging my head against the ships windows.
So. From step one. while in space, look at a planet. Click the right stick to target the planet with your ship. from there, you hit the up button on the directional pad. that will take you to the planet youve selected. if thats not happening maybe the d pad doesnt work? as for the meditate option. Minor spoilers below. Go talk to gabbro on giants deep. then a few loops later head back and talk to them again. ask them how they stay so calm!
I may stream minecraft once just to show off the rtx addition but I dont plan to cover it. Still early in the channel yet though. I actually already set up a discord. Unfortunately, due to a planned cyber attack its not open to knew members atm. Itll be opened back up on friday! Ill send you a link to it then. Ill make a note of it now so I remember.
Just started playing. Already burned up in the sun and face planted into a planet. I even managed to die before leaving the home planet (the waterfall looked safe, okay?)
Oh one time i didn't quite understand how the reactor worked so i was outside the ship in spaceflight tryjng to fix things and the reactor blew nearly killed me,m

Anyway, dont be afraid to take breaks or focus on other puzzles. Some puzzles cant be solved without information from elsewhere!
I get that sentiment, but ive seen too many times "This game sucks. You cant even stop the ship!". Or something along those lines. So I figure this video wouldnt give away anything story wise. but would show you ays to make the game and its mechanics less rough on newcomers.
Youre simply not meant to play with a pc keyboard. It will ruin parts of the game. Imagine a rocket thruster. Then imagine it has 2 settings. Off and full blast. Just doesnt work. If youre insistent i think there is a mod thatll let you use keyboard and mouse.
@@TheLoreExplorer well i play on pc so thats what i have ... but anyways i found it, its the alt key. and i have to say, i found your videos yesterday and its really great content! i love it. i played enough to have uncovered most of the lore but was struggling to find a way forward into the story. your videos were really helpful
Yeah. It was sort of annoying to have to buy an xbox controller just to play. But now I think it was worth it. Sorry I didnt take into account people who dont have controllers. So glad youre enjoying the content though! Glad to be helping!
@@TheLoreExplorer hah now i get it. last planet i went to suring my gameplay was dark bramble . and as you said, it just doesnt work with that on/off situation.. luckily i found out i could pair up my ps4 controller and it works just fine. and now i've finished the game. it brings me joy, but sadness and melancholy at the same time. it was a so beautiful game and story.. i wish i could play it for the first time, again 🙃
This is my advice: Do not watch this video, just leave a like, and play the goddamn game! And if you don't know how to solve something, don´t look it up, just keep playing and go somewhere else.
this is sort of a silly comment bud. The video spoils literally nothing about the game. All it does is tells you things like how to fly the ship/jetpack. Or points you to tools or mechanics the game doesnt really tell you about. Like your ship log , meditation(without even telling you how to get it) , I think campfire snoozes are in there , or the ships altimeter. Things like that. One of the hints is literally what you suggest. "If you dont know how to solve a puzzle dont get frustrated and spend so much time on it you feel you need to look it up to continue the game. Just move on to another location and and come back later." Its simply a video to let you experience the game at launch the way mobius intended. Not a "how to crush the game on launch" type of thing
@@TheLoreExplorer Bro but that's just my advice, everyone is free to follow it or not, to play the game the exact same way I did, I learned everything explained in this video by myself like I'm sure you did too, just by observing and reading everything, besides, it was developed that way, sure is nice to know this basic stuff before hand but there is nothing wrong with not knowing them. AND... no one is gonna read my comment besides you lmao (wich I really appreciate), so yeah, thanks for taking the time to respond.
Yeah. You’re free to that opinion. I just wanted to voice the opposite in case some one did read. You’d be surprised. It took me a few universal loops to get some of the things I cover in this video down. And I’ll tell you what. If I had known about meditation I think it would have been a better experience for me as a whole. Tons of people play and get so frustrated from the spaceship controls they actually quit entirely. Not realizing they simply need to slow down as much as they speed up lol. So idk. Just wanted to give those people a bit of help. Not everyone can experience it like we did.
I play out of Wilds a lot and I've ruined my whole experience because I searched up everything that's just how I was but now I regret it I just wish I could go back in time to the first time I ever knew it was a thing I have Echoes the eye and I ruin that too but I love out of wild s
Don’t worry friend. Whether it’s a year or two you can pick it back up again. Personally , I think it’s best played twice. Once with the perspective we have. And once with a bit more knowledge and understanding. It becomes more meaningful the next time.
Tbh this had spoilers in it. I didn’t know what the other planets looked like or about the sun station. I just came here to see how I can bette rland this damn ship. I don’t get it. I crash every time lol
Hey bud. I get that people are spoiler conscious with this game. But usually mean spoil the story. Not visually. Anyway , sorry about that. If you can get past that it should show you how to land a ship like a pro.
I could not get into this game at all, I got it on steam after seeing all the relentless praise it was getting and played it for maybe 3 hours before closing it and uninstalling, I was just bored and uninterested and the game didn't do enough to make me WANT to get interested.
A statue steals your memories. And the sun blows up within 22 minutes. And it lets you fly around in a spaceship like Neil Armstrong or something. If thats not enough to make you want to explore the solar system then the game doesnt seem like itll be up your alley. That was more than enough for me.
Bro you're not spoiling through your words, but the video is. I don't want to see nothing from the space in this game if it is not by myself. Just showing some parts of the game tells me that there's something in areas that maybe I haven't been to. I appreciate that you're trying to tell tips, but this is not the way. If you played the game, you should know that lol. For this spoiler free videos you should only show the beginning of the game
Ive been in the community a long time now. Showing places you havent been isnt generally considered spoiling them. Its no different than a trailer. As long as I dont explain the contents or reveal the puzzle and how it works. No , its not a spoiler. I spoiled absolutely none of the story or puzzles. What the game is all about. So I stand behind it. You simply cant give all the tips needed to play the game in the starting village. But sorry if you felt spoiled by it.
@@TheLoreExplorer I admit I said that in the first few seconds of the video because you showed some place near the sun that I didn't knew about. But I also feel showing that Nomai technology is a little bit spoiling the game, I'm glad I found it by myself because it blew my mind when I saw it, and I said that because I think it's better to see it by yourself for the first time. I was lucky the rest of the video showed zones that I've been to. Apart from that, it's a good video, you taught me some things I find pretty interesting and I'll definitely use them. Sorry if I sounded like a hater, that was not my intention, but I recognize it pissed me off a bit
I had a hunch thats what it was. I checked with a moderator of the reddit(which has super stringent spoiler rules) before I added that because I was super worried about spoilers. And they seemed to think that it was ok. I understand that feeling. But Im in the camp of , "well I saw a lot of thing Ive never seen in the game in trailers and whatnot. I never felt like it spoiled the game. In fact , it made me want to go see those things myself." And I kind of added that shot near the sun for that purpose. TONS of people finish the game not ever knowing its a place you can go. But I thought if i teased it people would think "Wait....I can get there....how? Whats in there?". And it would encourage them to try to visit. Stuff like that. But again. Sorry if it had a bad affect on you.
And dont get me wrong. There are places where visuals alone are spoilery as heck. I just didnt(and dont) feel like thats one of them. It doesnt reveal anything about the puzzle or story. But thats just my opinion ig.
"I have all this content but I don't want you to watch it until you finish the game" (paraphrasing) Good on you mate. Doing it for the love not the views 👍
Sorry but I disagree with this video. I only have one tip to people who haven't played it. 1. Don't watch this or anything else Outer Wild-related. Just play the game!
You dont have to apologize. Youre free to your opinion. Personally, I dont think the game benefits from having players slingshotting past planets theyre trying to get to. Or wasting time trying to solve the first puzzle they find when the solution lies elsewhere. I avoided making this video for a long time because I know the community feels strongly about this sentiment. The only reason I finally made it is because there were too many comments on other videos telling me people gave up on the game too early for nonsense reasons like "floating controls" when really thats just how jetpacks and spaceships work. I felt like they were missing out when they didnt have to
@@TheLoreExplorer Well my comment is a half joke 😄 I do understand your reasoning but I firmly believe the best way to experience Outer Wilds is to know nothing about it. So maybe your intro should always be "Go play the game, before watching any of my videos"
I was looking it up because I just did the tutorial and am crashing into everything in my jet pack and my space ship and am not having fun driving like a drunken sailor. It seems like No Mans sky was easier to navigate. Does this all get better? I am struggling hard.
@@squinj7004 Yeah, flying or any navigation/traversal,in general, in this game is very different than most games. You don't just go up, down, left, right. There are different forces that affect your movements. Like I always say, match velocity is your friend. Autopilot is your best friend and worst enemy 😄 Match velocity is a concept that's pretty new in games, at least to me. It's very helpful. Autopilot on the other hand isn't something like full self driving in cars these days. Instead it's a tool that's very helpful when used properly. BTW, don't stress too much when you damage your ship or have rough landings. You don't even need to repair your ship unless you need the damaged function. And yes, you'll get better. It's one of the upgrades in this game 😄
Really dude? 4:06 is a supermassive spoiler! Anyone who turns their brain on for that clip will immediately learn the biggest spoiler in the game. SMH! I wish everyone could've experienced it the way I did. having no idea there was anything beyond being a weird 4 eyed dude in a village.
Sorry, steam page description. Not box art. But still. I don't feel I spoiled it if it's in the public description when buying the game. And if its something else, let me know.
Well, if that’s true then they are wrong for doing that and you know it. But I guess they need to convince people to buy it. Two wrongs don’t make a right.
I dont think they are wrong to share that info. Many people don't like games like that. And it's a core mechanic in the game. Nowhere does it say how or why this will happen, just like in the video. Nothing in the story is spoiled by it.
For match velocity the A or X depends what kind of controller youre using. Xbox is A and Playstation is X. I meant to add a little text bubble but forgot...so here ya go lol.

Hopefully the game will get more spotlight with the steam release. Genious game
Agreed. It deserves all the spotlight.
Honestly legit Im playing it on my xbox and I'm really angry that it isn't more famous ig?? Just amazing
It did for me! Best steam game I've bought in a long long time.
Genius? Maybe if you haven't played Obra Dinn or Subnautica.
This is a silly comment. People like different sorts of games. I've played ow, subnautica, and watched obra din. Ow is still my favorite and I would consider it the work of a genius.
Spoiler free? Don't worry, comments are gonna change it.
Maybe. But outer wilds players are usually really good with not spoiling. Since it sort of instantly ruins the point. Of the game.
1:40 It sounds so obvious when you put it like that, but that was the difference for me between landing on the moon and my first attempt, which involved bouncing so hard on it I broke every part of the ship and desperately attempting repairs while hurtling at max speed straight into the sun.
Such a novel beautiful game. I played it right when it released. And got so frustrated with it that i put it down. Now im wanting to revisit it.
if you have the patience its definitely worth a shot.
did you ever go back to it?
Thanks so much for letting me know! It warms my heart to hear that! Happy exploring friend!
See I understand people not knowing a few of those things, BUT HOW DO YOU NOT NOTICE THE GLOWING COMPUTER AT THE BACK OF YOUR SHIP IT'S SUCH A TINY SHIP
Yeah it definitely is. I think I noticed it early on. But also very early on I got into a routine with my ship. It involved never looking right lol.
@@TheLoreExplorer that and some people may just blow it off as an aesthetic peice that doesn't actually do anything
The haven't played Skyrim 😅
I respect your dedication to a game!
It was TECHNICALLY possible to beat the tutorial on ship repairs without using that, but needless to say not a good idea to be attempting repairs while hurtling at ludicrous speeds through space while not knowing that.
>i am the lore explorer and this is Outer Wilds
This words make me crying just like Outer Wilds ost and marshmallows. You a perfect youtuber for this game. ;-;
That's actually really touching. I didn't realize how much The ol lore explorer means to some of you. Thank you!
My rules of thumb about when to slow down when approaching a planet :
I make my speed about 1/10 of my distance. when I'm between 2000 and 7000 m from the planet.
If I'm further away, I need to brake earlier than 1/10 of the distance (at 10km, 1000m/s is too fast), but at less than 2000m and 200m/s, I can just eyeball it and stop looking at the numbers.
When you just watch these to get the feeling of playing it for the first time
(;-;)
Nice video! I wish I'd known these things when I started playing
Glad you enjoyed!
I'm: just finished the game
Also i'm, seeing this vid: *mmmm, interesting*
Just what I needed, can’t wait!
Im so glad! It meens a lot to me if I even help one person enjoy this game! I hope you like it!!
Only finished this game a few months ago just soon before the dlc release and its a great game, im am tho sad I missed the altimeter on the landing cam untill close to end would have been quite nice to use more of and I can't wait to see what the devs make next
SPOILER ALERT
Hey TLE, I've just played the game and loved the story but I'm having some trouble understanding a couple details and thought about maybe discussing it with you and your viewers here.
It’s neighbor that starts firing rocks into it doesn’t start doing that until a minute or two into the loop so that might be related
I am NOT a gamer, I only play walking simulators on PC. This game is straight up too hard for me. I cannot control the ship or the jetpack I'm a disaster lol
Thats ok! Keep at it! I believe in you!
Did you ever get it? I am struggling too. Flying around like a drunken sailor crashing into stuff.
I honestly played through the entire game without ever utilising the landing cam, lol.
Its probably one of the most under used things in the game. I use it all the time. I guess just for accurate landings. not like its needed but it makes it feel a bit more realistic.
@@TheLoreExplorer
I mean I knew it could be useful but I saw it as a “training wheels” sorta thing if that makes sense and I was like “I wanna just wing it!”
@@spacedoutorca4550 Feldspar is strong in this one
I didn't know there was an eject button and a bar for how far you are away from the ground when using the landing cam thanks lore
I figured some people would play through and not use those things. Im glad I was right. Not like that would ruin the game for you but still.
Yeah I ended up finishing the game without those tips (before the video came out)
This is the first game in awhile I couldn’t just wing it I kept dying thanks bro
Youre welcome Mitchell! Hope you enjoy the game!
"Spoiler free" instantly shows you jumping on a place directly next to the sun.
Very Helpful video for First tine players :D :D
Just watched a different guide of similar length and they didn't mention any of this stuff other than there's a computer on the ship. I might actually venture a try again after repeatedly crashing because I didn't realize it was being actualy hard sci-fi realistic meaning I have to accelerate half the way there and then decelerate or lock on for the second half. Great guide!
Definitely worth another shot! Glad I could help!
Great video dude, thanks a lot
Glad you liked it! hope you enjoy the game!
I have a question, who or what inspired you to create these videos?
I mean the Outer wilds did. I have watched youtubers like oxhorn or manyatruenerd and really wanted to do what they did. I loved fallout and knew the game new Vegas like the back of my hand. But I never worked up the inspiration or drive to invest hundreds of dollars in recording equipment and a mic until. I played outer wilds. The game moved me so much I wanted to share that with as many people as possible.
I agree.
But I found this to be hard. I got this gut feeling that without proper direction or guide, it's gonna be pain in the ass to beat the game.
And this loop this is fucking bad!
your content is great!
Thank you Kyle! Glad you enjoy it!
I have only once seen the auto pilot as an option. I don’t understand why I can’t use it. Match velocity is wonderful but I’d love the opportunity to use autopilot like the rest of the players.
what console are you on and if youre on pc what controller(if any) are you using? You must lock onto a planet before you can autopilot to it.
I’m on Xbox. I can choose a planet (white brackets appear). How do I lock on? I’m so frustrated I’m ready to quit. By the time I catch up to a planet and land, I have little time left to explore before the sun explodes.
when the white brackets appear, hit up on the directional pad. be sure the sun isnt between you and your target, or itll fly you into the sun.
Hey, will you do minecraft? Also will you set up a discord? Thanks in advance for answering if you do
I may stream minecraft once just to show off the rtx addition but I dont plan to cover it. Still early in the channel yet though. I actually already set up a discord. Unfortunately, due to a planned cyber attack its not open to knew members atm. Itll be opened back up on friday! Ill send you a link to it then. Ill make a note of it now so I remember.
@@TheLoreExplorer thanks mate
My advice to new players: die a lot and have fun!!
Just started playing. Already burned up in the sun and face planted into a planet. I even managed to die before leaving the home planet (the waterfall looked safe, okay?)
@@EM-qw7bj Same, except I died 2 times before leaving. I wanted to jump in the gyemser

I hate it when my reactor goes wibbly
Oh one time i didn't quite understand how the reactor worked so i was outside the ship in spaceflight tryjng to fix things and the reactor blew nearly killed me,m

How to you look on the outside of your ship while it’s flying???
Using mods on pc. I set it to autopilot and then switched to the camera mode : )
Holy sht, I wish I know this before I finish the game
How many tips do you think would have helped you? Just wondering
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
Why is there a time limit? Why can’t I just explore at my own discretion?
Because the whole thing is a time based puzzle. You need to be there when certain things happen. And this just doesn’t work unless time resets.
Are you on Twitter? I want to promote your work and would love to have a name I can link towards.
I am not on Twitter. But you can just link directly to the channel. It's just RUclips.com/theloreexplorer. It's very kind of you to ask!
A new video great!
I will say that the first minute of this video is mad spoilery lol showed so many places I know exist and can get to but just haven’t yet lol
Showing pics and telling how to r 2 completely different things my friend
realy?!?!? REALY!?!?!? i just spent 2 hours trying to land on whatever was circling around the sun to give up come here and se you land right in it
I'm about 8 hours of gameplay in and had no idea about the escape pod.
*or the medpack.
They can definitely be of use to you! Good luck while playing! Be curious and have fun!

@@TheLoreExplorer is "it" worth the effort? I'm sure it is but... hype me up. The commet is equally questionable
@@brandoncobb4646 It sure is tough. Even with rockets you can adjust in flight The Nomai didnt even have spaceships that could fly like ours. Hmmm. I wonder how they got there? Anyway, dont be afraid to take breaks or focus on other puzzles. Some puzzles cant be solved without information from elsewhere!
@@TheLoreExplorer You're a good dude to reply so thoroughly! Up there with The Dark Sominum and Nemo's Dreamscape. 🙏
Even Aliens like RGB LUL
just got the game and entered a blackhole, expecting death i got something so much cooler and that shit felt amazing, the games so fucking cool!
Helpful :D
For me the less you know before playing the best
I get that sentiment, but ive seen too many times "This game sucks. You cant even stop the ship!". Or something along those lines. So I figure this video wouldnt give away anything story wise. but would show you ays to make the game and its mechanics less rough on newcomers.
wait...you never talk about pc controls.. like to look around the cockpit..cant find it in the controls menu
Outer Wilds is a loop best experienced multiple times friend
1 tip to know before u play outer wilds...dont look up ANYTHING, go out and have fun
This game is amazing.
I have outer wilds again
Step one don’t get high until u learn the buttons
"even aliens like rgb"😂
How do you het the mods tab can you olease tell us I’ve been looking on the internet for 6 months
nexus mods has a few. You need to download the OWML (Outer Wilds Mod Loader) from nexus first before the other mods will work.
My only tip for this game is: don't search for any tips online
If you can get past that it should show you how to land a ship like a pro.
me watching this after finishing the game
The loading screen is drifting
I could not get into this game at all, I got it on steam after seeing all the relentless praise it was getting and played it for maybe 3 hours before closing it and uninstalling, I was just bored and uninterested and the game didn't do enough to make me WANT to get interested.
A statue steals your memories. And the sun blows up within 22 minutes. And it lets you fly around in a spaceship like Neil Armstrong or something. If thats not enough to make you want to explore the solar system then the game doesnt seem like itll be up your alley. That was more than enough for me.
I got spoiled before I beat the game. Worst mistake ever
Edit: have you ever tried speedruning the game?
He did a casual speed run with mods on stream a while ago
A person did it without a ship
@@deadly_leader8284 it's called shipless
Sorry
"I have all this content but I don't want you to watch it until you finish the game" (paraphrasing)
Good on you mate.
Autopilot is your best friend and worst enemy 😄
Match velocity is a concept that's pretty new in games, at least to me.
First tip: don't watch this video.
This dude be sounding like Kermit
Really dude? 4:06 is a supermassive spoiler! Anyone who turns their brain on for that clip will immediately learn the biggest spoiler in the game. SMH!
I wish everyone could've experienced it the way I did. having no idea there was anything beyond being a weird 4 eyed dude in a village.
What are toy talking about dude? The timeloop bring a thing? It's literally written on the box of the game.
I love your work though. Sorry to be super critical about spoilers. I just want everyone to have the best experience possible.
I dont think they are wrong to share that info. Many people don't like games like that. And it's a core mechanic in the game. Nowhere does it say how or why this will happen, just like in the video. Nothing in the story is spoiled by it.
another game that kicks keyboard users in the balls. I got a refund.
