The real reason he was upset was because he knew he would get a beat down from his parents and that he won’t get that 25 cent bonus on his weekly allowance
Now, if Dick “Darrin from Bewitched #1” York played Howard, I’d give him a straight A! (he was in a few of these instructional filmstrips before landing the role that made him famous)
the lesson here is - plan for the best, expect the worst. that way you're not disappointed in life as you sit on death row wondering who snitched on you for murder. you know, concerning grades, in school you can track your own grade through the semester. or did they used keep your homework and tests grades a secret for A BIG REVEAL at the end? also, you can do what all the stupid kids do these days - CHEAT! bribe or just beat-up your teacher if they give you the bad grade you deserve. so i hope poor howard learned his lesson.
Maybe this was a common practice in the era of these films, but as I recall high schools usually mailed report cards and didn't require a parent's signature.
It's very typical of the fifties that the principal wouldn't even check to see if perhaps Howard had a legitimate concern about his grade. He just assumed Howard was being unreasonable, and gave him a lecture.

Every time I listen to music on this channel, I feel like I'm returning home, where my heart always belongs. 🏡
Howard is upset because he's still in high school at 30 years old!
At least he looks like a man😂
Geez, Howard Patterson, just forge the report-card signature like the rest of us slackers...
One mins, 30 secs into this and the painful memories unleashed are killing me :(
Lol 🤣
Love the lesson! Still valuable today

Marry me, Howard ❤ I'll keep the house tidy, cook your favorite foods and I'll never "have a headache" at bedtime 😘
Thank you
You say you’re tired, I understand
Howard looks like a young Sean Connery. Gee Wiz ....give him an A in History!
He has those dark bedroom eyes.

A "B" what about all the "C"s improve them all.
the principal is a lot like the character Lupin from Harry Potter films
