The journey to the west has been.Chinese , korean and japanese favourites since 1000 years ago. We like the characters from this classic. It is great.that a theme park was built.on.such.characters
It looks amazing. By the way, China owns 51% of the shares of Disney and it also has Shanghai Disney.

The Journey to The West Story is satire about human characters and the state of things during the author’s time. The monk, Tang San Zhang, represents the simple minded humble & truth seeking of the common people but a blind follower of rules & regulations without the fire eyes of the Monkey King who sees the demons in disguise, and were often wrongly smitten / rebuked by Tang San Zhang. The Monkey King represents fighters against wickedness to expose the truth behind evil intentions of oppressors. The pig Zhu Ba Jie, and Sha Zheng represents the different characters of people in a teamwork - the lazy, greedy, selfish, self seeking, betrayer, and the loyal supporter. The demons shows the wicked people and the wickedness of the world and the tough journey shows that life is not a bed of roses. It also sums up a Chinese saying, 害人之心不可有 ，防人之心不可无。 （We must not have a heart of wickedness to harm others but we must not lack a heart that be guard against others with wicked / evil intentions.
Another interesting ancient classic story book is 聊斋 LiaoZhai. This satire story uses demons, spirits and ghosts to show that the wicked people in this world are worse that demons, spirits & ghosts.

Comparative religionwise Tang San Zhang represents Buddhists practitioners while Monkey King, the Taoists practitioners who are natural, spontaneous, lively and with a childlike quality that belied great spiritual attainments.

Keep in mind that some Chinese terms cannot be translated exactly as they are into English; for example, the term "heart" in this context should be translated to "intention" in English. When translating some Chinese terms into English, keep in mind the cultural differences. The way the Chinese see something is not the same as how people in other countries see it. The correct translation should be something like this: "Do not intend to harm others, but be on the lookout for others' intentions to harm you."
Isn't Journey To The West based on the real life monk Xuan Zang who made the journey to India to learn and bring Buddhism to China?

This is great! Thanks guys! Countries should have their own themed theme park. One Disney theme park is enough. You don't want to see the same, the same all over the world. And this Chinese theme park is only the initial phase? When the Chinese decide to do something, they always try to do better. Wu Kong is a Chinese legend. The Journey To The West - well, the fantasy adventure everyone wants a part of, never mind the perils and uncertain future till the end hehehe. Once again TQ!

China must open different theme parks which was based on the famous Chinese classic novels. Compared to other nation,china has a rich culture with a thousand years of civilization. If they will create a theme park from every classic novels in china then that will be a big boost to economy on every Chinese provinces.
