Nitrogen VS Air In Tyres!

  • Some people say that using nitrogen to inflate your tires is better than using regular air. Do you agree with that statement? The first thing that came to my mind when I heard this was, where can you even find pure nitrogen? After all, the air we breathe already contains a lot of nitrogen-about 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, and some other trace gases. So why are some people suggesting pure nitrogen? Is it actually better for car tires, and is it worth switching to nitrogen? Will it damage the tires? Let’s take a deeper look at the technical aspects, the advantages, disadvantages, and the situations where using pure nitrogen in car tires might actually make sense. Let’s dive in.
First, what does it mean to inflate your tires with nitrogen? Regular compressed air already contains a high percentage of nitrogen, right? In this context, nitrogen refers to pure nitrogen gas, usually over 95%, used to replace regular air in the tires. Replacing regular air with nitrogen involves a process called "purging," where the regular air in the tires is removed-sometimes using a vacuum-before filling the tires with nitrogen. Without this step, you wouldn’t actually have pure nitrogen in the tires. The use of nitrogen in tires isn’t new; it’s commonly used in motorsports, aviation, and even some commercial vehicles.

AIR IS 78% NITROGEN anyway. so claiming filling with Nitrogen is far better is a bit suspect. YOU CAN ONLY INCREASE IT BY 12% at the MOST. SO DOES THE 12% make any SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE. Only to long term inflation because Nitrogen has bigger molecules than the other components of air.
