People need to hear the truth about the school. It’s a good school and has good education and the professors are very intelligent. but campus is DEAD. This is a commuter school. It’s not your typical college campus. A large majority of the students go to class and then commute home after. I’m here as a transfer student junior in 2022. It’s HARD to meet people. There aren’t a lot of clubs and the ones that exist are not active much. You’re very close to the JFK/UMass train line which has its benefits because you can go to the city. But that isn’t very fun without friends. I don’t care how introverted you are and how much you say you want a quiet campus, you’re going to go crazy here. I thought I would be okay because I’m introverted. I had 2 friends in high school, and this place has been extremely isolating. I came in as a junior so everyone already knew each other. I didn’t get the benefit of living in the dorms with others and meeting people. I live off campus now in an apartment. I’m not trying to turn anyone away, just want you to know the truth before you make a decision you regret like I did. I 100% regret picking this school. It feels like a continuation of high school. It’s not fun because there’s no campus life. If you’re looking for something more traditional this is NOT the place to be. I was so excited for college because I wanted to meet new people and be more outgoing, and UMB makes it hard. If you pick this school, I hope you like it. I hope you have a good experience, but you need to know what you’re getting yourself into before you start. The sports teams hang together, which can be helpful with making friends, but I’m not an athlete so I don’t know for sure. Also the catwalk in this video has since been torn down so the buildings aren’t connected anymore and most of the campus is under construction

Do you think the constructions will finish soon by any chance? Do you think if students transfer to UMB choose to live in dorm, will make it batter? Maybe it is a good idea to have a campus tour first and decide.

@@rationaloveyang7324 The construction is making progress just not a lot of progress. Covid really messed up their plans. I don’t know when it’s supposed to finish but it doesn’t look like it’ll be anytime soon. As far as living in the dorms, you’re not allowed to unless you’re a freshman or an RA I think. I came in as a junior and I tried to live in the dorms because I have a physical disability, they said no. I would definitely come on a physical tour before you decide. But when I came on a tour it was four years ago before the construction. So it looked a lot nicer. I loved the school when I was touring it. I honestly hate it now. I don’t mean to be a bummer I just don’t want you to get stuck like I did

@@moonywormtailpadfootandprongs thank you so much for your replies and honest feedback about the school. I appreciate it so much! I am studying psychology and trying to transfer to anywhere nearby Boston. Thank you again!

@@rationaloveyang7324 happy to help. I wouldn’t completely rule it out as an option, because the academics are good, but I would definitely see it in person, and I would just keep in mind that it is not a traditional campus. I would like to emphasize that I am very introverted, and this campus is too quiet even for me. If I can help one person from not picking the wrong school, then it was worth it. Good luck! And feel free to reach out if you have any other questions! ;)

@@carlosa.n5100 I was a student from 2018 and graduated in 2022. it was under construction before I started and it still is now. Funnies part was admissions tried to sell people the idea all the construction would be done by the time they started their 2018-19 year. LOL
