- String quilts are one of our favorite types of scrappy quilts. It's a great way to use up leftover bindings and those stash favorites that never quite make it into other quilts. Right now, it is a nice easy change of pace from our complex "Bird of Paradise" No Sewing Until You Quilt It project. For more info visit annholmesstudios.com

I like quilt and materials very nice 👌👍😊☺😀🙂👌
Stopped here for the string quilts (I've been working on some at the moment) but really loved your B&W "Go With the Flow" wall hanging. In the video you say it is done with "your technique" but didn't detail what that is. I looked at your playlists and website --- was this done using the same methods you used making the "More Modern Quilt"? I do see that you have a video for thread painting the words. And you do stained glass too?!? You are a phenomenal artist!!
Tx for demonstrating the ruler. I hate cutting...this might help. Now if I can only get in a store.
I would like to know if you add batting and a backing. Loved the quilts.
Ann. Please show how you finish the string quilt.
Thank you Vivian. Yes, my technique is "No Sewing Until You Quilt It. Building Go with the flow and a More Modern quilt, Scrapy Happy Wave , Bird of Paradise and many others all with No Sewing Until You Quilt It, AnnHolmesStudios.com

Just looked up those strip rulers....on eBay...man they are sooooo expensive!
These are just beautiful! 😍 New subscriber here. What kind of ruler is that? It has the slots cut out, right?
Did you sew the.blocks together, or are there random strips in between the blocks before sewing them together. I’ve been watching videos on this but no one shows the step of how to put it together. Your spare room looks fantastic. I’ve been making crumb blocks the last couple years, so I’m looking for some ideas of putting it together without the seams being lumpy.
I arrange my blocks first on the floor, a bed or a table first. Then I pin a number, or use tape, to the top of the rows - sew the blocks together into rows. Then before sewing the rows together: I press the odd rows up and the even rows down. That way the seams will nestle together and won't be lumpy.
If you check out Missouri Quilt, Jenny Doan has the best way to add the blocks together. To be honest it’s the only technique I use and have made queen size quilts doing that technique. She used vintage hankies in the tutorial, but it is the best method I have ever found for quilt as you go blocks to finish the block. Check it out and I hope that it helps.
Do you drop the feed dogs§§
I love your Colors. I am concerned that you are so out of breath when you are talking. Are you ok? Hope all is well. 😊
