Surprisingly I haven’t heard of CB&O 4960 for some reason, sounds interesting to look into.
He’s one of the Grand Canyon’s engines now, so yeah.
Obviously it’s the same locomotive, except it had some cosmetic changes were made when it was restored to operation in the 90s.

At 3:17 the all ahead slow scene the engineer and firemen were with the conductor when he says all ahead slow but wait a minute how did they get in the cab so fast
My first guess would be that the engine crew were secret wizards. My second guess would be the sequence where they walk to the cab wasn’t animated, or the animators forgot to animate it, or something. They should’ve added a time card (sort of like spongebob but not really) so that way it would make more sense.

So do I. On the bright side, at least 5629 (from the CB&Q, not GTW) is on display. Even if it was going to be restored, it would be extremely difficult to get it out of that small cramped space.

The 4960 is the sole locomotive owned by a guy named Richard Jensen still running because everything else was scrapped or sold off to other places.
Jensen never had ownership of the 4960. It went to museums and that railroad in Virginia before winding up at the Grand Canyon Railway after it left the Burlington.

Yes it does, except the audio was recorded after 1989, when former Lake Superior and Ishpeming railroad (LS&I) #29 was running after 1989 (the year Tugs was released I believe) which was using #4960’s whistle before that locomotive ran again.
Also, I still think that the sound originated from here ruclips.net/video/tAIw4AuKe3E/видео.html which isn’t from the 1980s, but the whistle in that video sounds pretty close to Puffa/Little Owl’s whistles respectively.
Note: I’m very aware that the Little Owl’s whistle is the same as Puffa’s, except it’s low-pitched. Just saying, that’s all.

That one is kinda confusing, but it sounds like a 6 chime. Except I can’t find that sound effect anywhere on RUclips, but at least I know the episode “Lord Stinker and the Mail Train,” is.

I’ve always thought it was Australia’s NSWGR 5 chime. Now that I think about it, I guess any Short - Bell 5 chime would be the origin (Chinese, Southern Pacific, Union Pacific, etc.) but I’m still betting on the NSWGR 5 chime.
It might be a SP desert whistle or a star brass one idk

It really isn’t. Frisco #1522 is a 4-8-2 Mountain class locomotive, and CB&Q/Grand Canyon Railway #4960 is a 2-8-2 Mikado class locomotive.

That’s correct! I did have the second tender to make the train look like it has some kind of auxiliary tender, because there was no Colorado and Southern aux tenders for Trainz Simulator. Although I could Reston it to look like it, but I know that there is someone out there that can make one that looks accurate to the aux tender the 4960 used when it pulled the circus train.

Yes, which happens to be the same whistle Grand Canyon Railway #29 wore before #4960’s restoration in the mid 90s. Now it’s wearing a 6 chime, which I don’t know if it’s a standard Nathan, Southern Pacific, or ATSF 6 chime whistle.

You must be confused with my “How These Trains Should’ve Sounded 2” video. The original movie clip didn’t have one of the trains dubbed with #4960’s 6 chime.
What is CB&Q 4960
Chicago Burlington and Quincy O1a class 2-8-2 Mikado Number 4960 was built by Baldwin in 1923, hauling freight and passenger trains along the CB&Q.
Now, #4960 runs on the Grand Canyon Railway, but with several modifications (centered headlight, different plow, etc) and a larger tender, since 4960’s original tender rotted out completely.
