Amazon is reportedly spending nearly $500 million a year on its games development division, but despite having all the money in the world they have been struggling to produce a successful title.
They aren't making games for players to enjoy. That's the biggest problem. All their releases so far have been uninteresting, copycat stuff that isn't worth spending time on.
Another problem is that they didn't really bother marketing their games at all. ANYONE saw any ads for Crucible? Heck, I saw more ads for Battlerite than I did Crucible...that says a lot. And the only reason I've heard of New World is because I follow MMO news hoping to find a good one.
It’s because amazon doesn’t care about good games, just profits. They do market research and see what people like then make a knock off of other popular games and wonder why people don’t like it.
I feel like the time my girlfriend cut her hair. I found her beautiful beforehand, and somehow that blinded me from the changes. I see no difference in the editing style, but the videos are amazing as always 😂
It wasn't that bad tbh, it was just « eh, alright it's kinda cool » but nothing to keep me coming regularly. A week or two after it's release me and some friends wanted to play it and already couldn't find a match so yeah. It wasn't awful but putting so much money just to have an « okay » game isn't satisfying
There were so many problems with Crucible, Even the name of the game was problematic. Ask any serious gamer what they think of when they hear the word Crucible. Any FPS gamer will immediately say Destiny as Crucible was the name of its PvP mode. This plus the genres they were chasing were so oversaturated that Amazon had a hard time defining exactly what Crucible was about.

BreakAway was downright fire. They did a super light closed beta release, got light reception on the sponsored twitch streams, and then dumped it for seemingly no reason. I'd be playing that game off and on for years if they released it.
i would love for you guys to cover New World some more when the next batch of infos drops. Given the changes they made, people are suspecting Amazon to take a safe route instead of innovating the genre.
Performance Improvement Plan. They put their employees in stack ranking and then target them to a hunger game every single year, so they are trying to survive the plan with paperwork and quit before they get fired. How will you get them to work toward a good game if you run them like this? Wall Streets think it is better to place 10 $1 bet than 1 $10 bet but games do not work that way.

The game looks actually pretty fucking awesome.
It's crazy they let their Prime Video exclusive studios have so much freedom but not their game studios
BreakAway was downright fire. They did a super light closed beta release, got light reception on the sponsored twitch streams, and then dumped it for seemingly no reason. I'd be playing that game off and on for years if they released it.
This is the first I've heard of Crucible in a while, it's a shame it fell off.
Amazon also can't make TV show. LOL.
Is it really necessary to have those shout outs at the end?
Well this didn't age well
Great video. I will never in my life support this development studio! Truly demons of our industry
is it so hard to make a cod clone like black ops 2 with a bp
Who remembers their best game, Tofu fury?
Amazon: _we want some of that sweet, sweet gamer money_
Also Amazon: _this is too hard, nevermind_
Any chance you can do a video on DBD?
The first telltale sign that Amazon would fail at making games is they treated it as product first rather than entertainment first.
i would love for you guys to cover New World some more when the next batch of infos drops. Given the changes they made, people are suspecting Amazon to take a safe route instead of innovating the genre.
Only know about Crucible of all the games. Its Was a fun game but still need more countent and more balance to make it work.
The style is nice on this video
"nicheness of the genre" says that while its the biggest multiplayer gamemode of minecraft on a single server
amazon should make a gaming console and a gaming phone, that runs on fire os.. ooh america will love it and will be a massive success
I played crucible when it launched on steam. Played one match and then stopped playing because it took forever to find a match.
Performance Improvement Plan. They put their employees in stack ranking and then target them to a hunger game every single year, so they are trying to survive the plan with paperwork and quit before they get fired. How will you get them to work toward a good game if you run them like this? Wall Streets think it is better to place 10 $1 bet than 1 $10 bet but games do not work that way.
the irony with amazon having the best servers in the gaming landscape and crucibl being released with issues regarding them is so ironic
