Also, planning a trip with son who really wants to visit Japan but I hate huge crowds and just think Tokyo would drive me crazy but at least everyone is polite! Maybe just a couple of days there. Have been reading about a city ...like the Silicon Valley of Japan similar to Tokyo but smaller, less crowded and less expensive...maybe we'll try that. It's called Fukuoka and have found some hidden gem tours of Japan which do that area instead of Tokyo.
I ❤ Fukuoka and been there a few times due to work travels in the 90s. One of my favourite Japanese ports when it comes to food and entertainment and mom loves it too! Fond memories.😍💕⛩️🛣️
I always enjoy not only the scenic views, but the history you back it up with... That's what really sets your videos apart from most RUclips travelers...
Great video as always. Chris you do an excellent job at calling out the names. So nice to see your parents still holding hands while walking.
My husband toured the island of Okinawa several times while serving in the USMC for 20 years. Unfortunately it was always as "unacompany" duty, so I couldn't come along. Thank you for show casing your visit to this island even if it was just a little bit and the weather wasn't the greatest😊
Very beautiful place, Japan. Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you too
Seeing your mom and dad walking together reminded me of my parents. 6,2 Dad and 4,11 Mom.
Loving Okinawa - the Hawaii of Japan! Your parents are sooo cute, too! So nice that you can travel with them!
Great to see your mum and dad just walking hand in hand.
Thank you for sharing your experience in Okinawa, a very beautiful place.
Even in the rain you have shown a beautiful Japan…thank you for sharing ❤
Wow! I really enjoy your content. Please keep up the great work; the story about the history of Japan was incredibly fascinating. You seem to be an amazing couple with a great appreciation for exploration.☺ ❤🙏
Okinawa has more to see and explore than i thought it would, especially that impressive castle and gardens that you and Carol visited.
yeah if we had good weather we would have been able to visit more places, a lot to do!
Currently stationed here for 2 years and it’s very beautiful. The traffic is a nightmare through
Another beautiful part of Japan. Very impressive palace. 😲👍😊💙🇯🇵⛩️
It really is!
You kids make great videos. And kudos to you for going out in the rain and still filming. This was a really good one.
I've been meaning to visit this amazing country for years .. glad to see it through your eyes for now😍
Definitely visit, such a big variety of things to do here :D
Keenly following your excellent Japan series, picking up tips for our (me and my wife) trip to Tokyo and Kyoto this summer! Glad you’re having a great time with Chris’s parents!
Okinawa is beautiful despite the rain. ❤ love how your parents still hold hands while walking Chris. 😊
Another Awesome Adventure Thank You Chris & Carol🙂❤👍
Wow! What you probably weren't aware of is that this island is the most haunted places in the world! Thanks for all the amazing, great, and consistent videos guys!
Beautiful! I love Carol’s dress. Stay safe and happy!
Such a cool video! I have absolutely adored your Japan series. Great job showing a different side of Japan
I really appreciate your history lessons that go along with the areas you are viewing! THANK YOU!
Really enjoying your blogs guys, you two have got such an easy going friendly disposition!👊
Thank you again Chris and excellent video.
Great content, you purposely explain the brief history of the places. Kudos!
Awesome! I'll be visiting Naha for a concert next week!
Welcome to Okinawa, Japan this weekend to tours this amazing city in Asia May of 2024❤❤❤I wish you guys safe journeys & good luck always in peace 2024❤❤❤
Fascinating Place! Love the all of the temples in a jungle setting. Cool that it"s not busy like tokyo but a much mellower version of it'. Food looks really good. Enjoy! 😊
I loved there for 5 years. I miss it sooo much!
I swam with turtles in Miyako island. beautiful white beach. Taketomi island is also amazing plae. 🤫
Thanks for sharing this video with us
Beautifull Okinawa!!! Enjoy!!!
Very impressive sites and food options😊
Another awesome video. I loved seeing your parents holding hands!❤Filming in the rain was just as interesting as if it were a clear day and I really liked that you did it. Great job and I love traveling with you!
Very interesting place I’d love to visit Okinawa one day .. great vid .. thanks 🙏 🙏
Love your content as usual... your parents are awesome.... God Bless you'll.
@25:16 The largest of the four main islands of Japan, where Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and Nara are located, is called Honshu (本州).
Yeah, one of the many, many things I love about Japan. You can leave your belongings and not have to worry
Great video as always, I missed where you stayed in Okinawa. You said near the port?
yeah, showed it in the video before this one
Very enjoyable ❤
Another great video. You mentioned in a previous video that you are both tall, how tall are the two of you??
popular castle , yet not too busy on a Sunday :-)
Ha, I agree with you regarding the bars
Interesting to see Shuri Castle. Okinawa was the largest battle of the Pacific War, and the most intense fighting took place around Shuri Castle and along the so-called 'Shuri line'.
yes we read that the most intense fighting took place here
Koniechiwa! Welcome to Japan!
Done Egypt , the tombs are special .
Looks like such a cool place to visit... hopefully you land on some nice beach weather soon 😂
yeah we were here for around 6 days but only had 2 good weather days and one of them was spoilt because of the tsunami warnings.
Very cool 👍🙂
Will you also go to Ishigaki and Yonagumi ?
Hi Chris - Maybe go to Phu Quoc Island Vietnam 🙏✌
Good idea!
Honshu or Honshū ("main island"), historically called Akitsushima ("Dragonfly island").
I suppose all I can say is when I went to Nha Trang in Vietnam once, one day it was sunny it was so ultra sunny so everyone went to the beaches, then the next day pours basically prevented human activity from going to the beaches, so the sunny-rainy culture in the Pacific Islands are very islands are very much at thought here!! 🤔😁
All TV channels cut abruptly to the announcement that North Korea had just fired a ballistic missile toward Okinawa and that people there should take shelter in concrete buildings.
Kyoto! Nice! Can’t wait for that one. See if you can get Carole to dress like a ghesha girl.
Hmm even at the top , serious walls !
Too bad about the rain, I would have liked to see other islands and beaches. When is the best time for dry weather?
Try a crane game arcade place!
OMW , how long to build all those walls , all that time ago !
good!
Your kids make great chill videos. No pun intended but holy cow, raw liver.
Freeze frame at 9:33 and tell me if anyone sees a person in the flames, in the middle, just between the two dark roof elevations? I keep replaying it, and it is very clear!
think i know where you mean, looks like they slide down after the roof collapses? Just building material though probably, the building was already completely burnt at that point and there were no casualties as it started around 2 a.m
Okinawa、mensore!
Japan, it's great.
Come on out, everyone.
OMOTENASHI、おいでやす、めんそーれ!
🥰🥰🥰
That’s Balete tree or Banyan tree. There’s no Coconut trees in Okinawa ?? That Beach is beautiful.
Decent sized beers at a fair price .
First thing come into my mind when you say Okinawa is Karate .. Japanese Martial Arts. 😄
Ya compartí el video.
ASSISTI O VIDEO E CURTIR PRINT ❤❤❤
Bom dia tudo bem ❤❤❤
The main island is called Honshu it’s the 7th largest island in the world
Great video... Makes me miss Japan.. This will help fill in the blanks on Japan history.( Yes I'm going to be off a little on numbers and dates.) Did you know as China was falling to the huns, that's what the great wall was for to stop invaders. And to be able, to signal, with fires and smoke for thousands of miles, what was going on. Well the Emperor's family was to danger of been killed. He lived in the forbidden city. The young boy Emperor, was Thought to be of God. And was night worshipped. As the plot to kill them grew closer. And his army could not hold back the invasion. 150.000, Chiness, and all of the empires family. Left China about 2500 years ago. They left by boat, they took half of the written Chinese language. And paddled away.....with no clue where they were going. The Empires faith rested on what the young emperor said.... They followed the sun....
The island they landed on had no people, a new land. Now it's called Japan.
All Japanese, oldest names....will lead back to China. And China and Japan, had one of the bloodests wars... The only reason Japan's, empires army's did win was Americans, with held oil JAPAN HAD BOUGHT AND PAIDED FOR. And America,...left in China..fighter planes called tigers, they left AMO, cash... Chinese used the wepons against the Japanese, then they turned on the last empire of China's, family...and started a COMMIEST country... Then the sealed China's boarders to all out siders.. I might be off on a few points... In the state department USA . I was ordered to learn everything Asian, who hates who, why, how come. ECT ECT. Whitehouse got mad at me in 1975 I brokered a IMF rebuilding loan for Vietnam, the government of Vietnam, paid me 2%, of what I got them in bank loans... My fee, 2% was 2 billion cash. 😊
Ahem , 25 min walk for you fit guys :-)
Mount Suribachi was a Japanese stronghold, some of the last holdouts. Many Americans died attacking Suribachi. It has intricate tunnelling all over Suribachi. Just saying Tom Crosby YQR Regina, Canada
oops wrong island that was iwo jima near island tsc
Many Japanese also died
Iwo Jima is off limits to tourists
Oh no , allergical to shell fish ? Can you get treatment :-) The lobster was cool !
you shpuld definitely visit Ishigaki or Miyakojima next.time
they look incredible :D
Hello
They don't know and lets keep it that way, too many influencers exposing and ruining EVERY beautiful area. Somethings are just perfect without the camera and videos. Appreciate the moment without all devices.
so why are you watching and commenting which pushes the video further? lol
Like número 797
Why don't we ever see Carol's parents 😮
they have been in videos before
Like número 936
The Japan They DON'T Show You!
There are a lot of videos on RUclips about Okinawa
I imagine though Okinawa had to be rebuild because the American's bombed the island heavily during World War II and the Japanese hid in caves to survive
who are "they" and what don't they show us? :P
I assume the rainy, bridge beach, war damaged portions... and "they" is mainstream travel agencies.

@@SwivelHippie oh ok fair enough :)
I honestly think the north of Okinawa is way prettier then Naha
looks like it in photos. the plan for this video was to go there also but the weather derailed that plan
@@JumpingPlaces oh no! That’s a great excuse to come back ☺️
Worst place in Japan is way better than best place in England 😅
Japanese people use to be Chinese people long time ago is a long story thanks for sharing your video take care bye from milton Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
I like to take my time eating , not a fan of all the food at once :-)
Wrong. What Ryukyuans speak is not foreign language, but a dialect of Japanese language.
You are wrong if you read into it. They speak one of the Ryukyuan languages, considered to be one of the two branches of the Japonic language family, the other being Japanese and its dialects. The same way spanish, french, portuguese e.t.c came from latin but are different languages. The Ryukyuan languages are not mutually intelligible with Japanese making them different languages: ruclips.net/video/6ZjVmtlW8q0/видео.html
What Ryukyuan traditionally speak, they’re languages, not dialects. There are 6 of them, and considered to be endangered languages.
@akabanah they speak gibberish womp womp
Boring
thanks
PLEASE DON'T CONSUME MEAT 🥩 🥩
JUST IMAGINE HOW HORRIFYING THAT MOMENT WOULD BE FOR THEM
I BEG YOU PLEASE GO VEGETARIAN AND IF CONTINUED GO VEGAN 🙏🙏
I wish they would quit forcing vegetarianism on us.
@@OMG_LoL seems like you are not a good human
no worries my job was to make you aware, this time is called kaliyuga in hinduism
you'll pay of your karmas and it will get back to you no matter what
SO GOOD LUCK TO YOU
@@sixeyessatoru I don't believe in God or life after death, so I have no problem eating meat. That's all.
Since time immemorial Okinawa was a peaceful, prosperous independent nation known as Ryukyu (alternative spellings: Loo Choo, Lew Chew, Luchu). Ryukyu maintained close, friendly, mutually-beneficial relations with China, Korea, and Southeast Asia, and signed treaties of equal recognition with the United States of America, France, and the Netherlands. In 1609 the Satsuma clan of Japan invaded Ryukyu, forcing Ryukyuans to pay tribute which was the start of Japanese prejudice towards Ryukyuans, but Ryukyu nevertheless continued be an independent country. In 1879 Japan again invaded, this time forcefully annexing Ryukyu against the will of Ryukyuans. After World War II all of Japan's other colonies were given back their independence, but not Ryukyu. Instead the United States military decided to keep Ryukyu for itself to use for bases. In 1972 the U.S. "gave" Ryukyu to Japan, without a vote from Ryukyuans, and today Ryukyu is under joint U.S. - Japan occupation.
住民投票で92%以上の賛成を得ています。そもそも沖縄が日本に復帰したのは住民運動によるものが大きいです。根拠のないデマは辞めましょう。
