Japan is a bucket-list destination for me. I can't get over how such a populated place can be so spotless and organized, and the people seem so respectful of one another. I would thrive in that environment. Would you say it's the cleanest country you've been to? Any other countries you've been to that were similar? Singapore comes to mind.

Thank you for coming to Japan. You guys seem to eat food without sauce sometimes. In Thailand and other countries, each person may or may not put sauce on their food according to their own preference, but in Japan, there are basically certain sauces to be used for different dishes, and they are essential.

The reason why Japanese people wear facemasks since decades is politeness: they don't want to infect others with their respiratory infections. It's a great example for all of us and doesn't have anything to do with Covid.

Did you use an Airbnb in Nishinari? That area has been cleaned up a bit recently, but it is like Skid Row in the US. That's why there are so many abandoned buildings even though it is close to the center of Osaka. The number of foreign tourists staying in Osaka has been increasing, and it is safer than in the past, but some places are unsanitary or dangerous to go out at night, so please be careful even in safe Japan!
You have to put sauce on your kushikatsu! I bet you didn't taste it. I guess it didn't taste too good 😅

There is a big cultural rivalry between Tokyo and Osaka. Not sure if you picked up on this. I used to date a girl from Tokyo, and she would make fun of people from Osaka for being unsophisticated 'country bumpkins', which made no sense to me since Osaka is also a large city. I think it's similar to the way Londoners make fun of people from Manchester. 😂

The current main tower of Osaka Castle was rebuilt in 1931 and is more like a museum.
If you want to see the castle as it was then, I recommend other castles. There are currently 12 locations in Japan.

nishinari means west inari. fun fact the kami inari has a very broad resume as ppl pray to him for successfully rice cultivation, business prosperity, swordsmanship and brothels and entertainment. bit of a god of all trades, ohand the station u went to translates to the zoo station. osaka castle is def not the most touristy part of osaka. that would be dotonbori and in particular shinsaibashi. the thing / sculpture coming about of the building u didnt know what it was, is a takoyaki... fried octopus ball - popular in osaka. the place with the large tower towards the end of the vid is in an area called shin sekai - entertainment area. btw the place where u stayed is in an area known to have the largest homeless population in all of japan. japanese govt figures would say they have 0% homelessness. the restaurant with a boat i think that was zao's there is one in tokyo too. not only is there a boat but ur given a fishing line and u can catch ur own fish and have it sashimi or cooked in front of you.

Modern Japanese language was based on the formal ceremonial language of the samurai of the Edo period.
Therefore, emotional expression is underdeveloped and not equipped.
The Osaka dialect is traditional Japanese and has plenty of emotional expressions.
Therefore, Osaka may be easier for foreigners to get used to.
