Thanks so much Mark really appreciate your comments. I feel for you now as you have some hard work ahead of you but at the end of the day it will look amazing once you have finished.

Great decking, looks “ as new “ . I’ve probably left my decking too long ( caravan decking in Norfolk ) and it’s gone that “grey” colour you were trying to avoid. Seems like I’ll now have to go with some form of stain and not a clearer looking Oil. Any suggestions , do or don’ts ?? Many thanks

I’ve had grey decking before just make sure the decking is nice and moist and wet. It’s always best to power wash the decking on a day of rain or after a day of rain. If you don’t mind getting wet this way, it’s softens the wood so it cleans up easier. I’ve managed to pull grey decking back to look half decent. You just need a great power wash. A lot of patience and a strong back.😂👍

I also had a very grey weathered decking, I used Ronseal wood cleaner and reviver and it worked brilliantly. I did it twice, ones with a bristle and a garden hose only, and a one week later with pressure washer. My grey and green colour on deck has dissapeared. Try it!

Hi , I love your deck 😍, actually all your garden. Natural wood colour looks so nice!
Can I ask you what measurement is your firepit cut off part, please? It looks so cosy there.

All deck oils and stains are just petroleum based plastic coatings. 'Deck oils' don't actually deposit any oil into the wood, it all evaporates soon after application. 'Weathering' is just the plastic coating visibly deteriorating. If you ever want to actually have oil fill up your deck's wood pores, a linseed oil stain is about the only product capable.

Great feedback and detail thank you. That’s why it doesn’t last very long. 👍

@@RRW yes, also why repeated coats of even thin stains build up and peel.

Hi mate, what finish / coating is on the wooden building in the background? I have one and i added an oil which a year or 2 down the line has black spots appearing up it. Which i need to remove. And would like to add a new finish to it. Cheers

I took the Shed out of Cedar so I use a cedar oil on it but before I apply the oil I power wash it and I use the same decking cleaner on it this week cleaning the wood rejuvenating it back to its lovely colour. Then treat it with Cedar oil once dry.
