No footage for the 1943-1944 ball drop was due to World War II. So the celebrations were postponed.

Hopefully the ball drops of 1930, 1931 and 1946 are found later. The new year is my favorite holiday! I am so excited about 2025 starting in a few months! In 1943 and 1944 there were no ball drops from World War II. I have seen the ball drop to ring in 1946, which was loud because of celebrating no more Great Depression or World War II.
