In all seriousness, though, I know it's never been about the graphics but being able to properly see the shape of the terrain is a huge improvement. The downside is it'll be harder to mod, because models are harder to make than sprites.
I'd disagree, polygonal 3D has been far easier to work with than 2D or 3D sprites IME, and I'm primarily a 2D artist and not a modeler. The meshes in this aren't terribly complicated, nor do they have many materials.
Well better that then a sloppy unoptimised mess were everyone is complaining about framerate issues. Quality of the game is way more important then cool graphics.
The main feature that I'm waiting is command chain coz it was horrible in first AB, just fixed delay. And 3d is cool now. Yep graphic is simple but it is much easier to check terrain highs and lows
I must be able to see the terrain properly so I can site my troops properly. In the original game the isometic view is rubbish. I'm left guessing. It is annoying. This does not look good enough for me to upgrade yet. I want to be 100% sure I can click to view from a point I am thinking of siting a unit on. Click to view from that point during the game is essential. Also they have to improve these renders. Hope they will fix it or I'll wait for 3.0.

These models are not that detailed, so it's kinda easy to make

Is huge for me the games was imo uplayable due to itss 2d nature it now being 3d and being able to see terrian is huge

Render distance for the fences and little hedges is gonna cause problems if both of them have an effect on LOS and concealment

biggest difference between this and combat mission?
Looks like the size of the battles/maps and level of command.
I really hope they add multiplayer in this version, such a missed opportunity in AB1 imo
