Sea Power is SOOOO complicated. I really want to like it but it's just too much happening simultaneously. I even felt that about cold waters so I should have learned the first time
Well this certainly came out of nowhere! I really enjoyed the first game but had some trouble sticking with it for the long haul. Not being able to easily tell the height of terrain and having to check the arcane topography map that reminds me of the original Sim City just to get a decent '3d' picture of the battlefield.. Now with 3D graphics this looks a lot closer to Combat Mission and that's pretty rad
big agree LOS issues were my main problem with AB1 - beyond satisfied with what they've delivered and hype for the future, especially the modding community expanding the game to different eras and theaters
One thing I kinda wish we had different than original armored brigade - I wish our fronts didn't need to just be a straight line. Not really a big deal on a small map, but on a 15 x 15 it'd be kind of nice to have option of basically painting deployment areas on generated missions so they could have shape / match the terrain to the players discretion.
Thanks for the preview! I bought and played the 1st iteration, and this has me sold on 2. I've been looking for something like this that's less micro than Combat Mission but with some depth and seriousness. I think I'm there.
Thanks for sharing. I also like how you went down to ground level to show us what that looks like. Quite a few others don't really do that. Also hope that future AAR's let you do a replay of the entire battle itself on the map. Would be cool to kinda see that.
You get a Steam Key supplied to you from Matrix when they release it on Steam, so that you may access it there upon release. I really don't understand this logic.
@@Zetler Doesn't make any difference. Why does it have to be on Steam? The user used the word, "sadly" just in case you missed that. I am telling him, that he can buy it on the Publisher's website. Thanks for playing though.
they said all mods would be backwards compatible with placeholder generic 3d units if they have no custom model. should be fun to do grozny and the ww2 stuff in 3d
@ if you haven’t played the first or anyone else reading that’s unaware, check out the steam workshop for armored brigade 1. there’s a Chechen war mod with a relatively complete ‘master’ depiction of the city, positions and units on both sides along with known fortifications and roadblocks, the streets are all named, the detail is really incredible. Also had smaller scenarios at different days of the battle like the rail station, was just really too slow/obtuse trying to judge terrain in ab1, will definitely be good gameplay imo with a 3d depiction, not to mention the original mods that will be made like modern day or the ab43 port. this feels like a must have wargame for genre fans.
Would love to see your experience and take on the Combined Arms module for DCS. It feels like a lot of wasted potential and your perspective coming from Steel Beasts, GHPC and this would make a very interesting video. What does it do well? What not so well? What are quick wins for new features? etc. Those comparisons could not only draw in DCS players to GHPC and SB, but potentially prompt more interest in the ground war everyone flies above!
Mass production, true, and deployment in Europe, but first vehicles were getting of the production line by the end of 1985. IIRC M1E1 was adopted as early as 1984, but it took time to reach production.
I'm a long time RTS and milsim player, anywhere from Combat Mission to CMO to DCS etc etc, but I just found it a bit too tedious getting into the first game and never bothered with it, is it worth the time?
im a massive wargame fan, nebulous to combat mission blacksea to graviteam, play broken arrow and warno pvp, regularly play fps like squad and sandstorm, even bought command modern ops, and this is just unmatched in replayability and scale. when it gets the grozny/chechen war mod or the ww2 mod from ab1 i think itll be really popular. highly recommend. if you like combat mission 3d really ties ab together and not going to lie will likely replace it for me.
@San-hs6tj okay, thanks for the reply. I just got Sea Power, sounds like you'd probably like it, its been a load of fun. I'll give this game a bit more of an in depth look
No. In this game you have some large maps including parts like Germany and southern Finland (area of Kouvola). In a sense, you "generate" maps from these huge maps yourself. Also, in Combat Mission you can't generate maps after the CMx2 -engine upgrade. There are multiple separate maps of different sizes and the Quick Battle just pick from those most suitable maps based on given setup.
Oh that's easy. WARNO is an arcade RTS game. This is a Tactical game meant for people who know how to think instead of how fast they click their mouse.
Thank god for the easy mode. ...although i actually don't like the derogatory term easy mode. Let's just call it "you can make your units behave like they have a brain mode".
Are the M1s killing BTRs through a massive forest? That's... i don't think they can do that. I hope the devs are gonna fix that. Because at that range, that's direct fire, and those are basically almost straight shots. So, the APFSDS would have to go THROUGH the forest. It can penetrate quite a bit of stuff, but not tens of trees one after the other... Not to mention how much would accuracy suffer. I hope that's gonna be fixed in later versions. If they fix stuff like that, and generally focus on the realism more, it's gonna be neat.
No, when I did the LOS tool, they could see it because that platoon was on high terrain. If you continued watching the video, I had to pull back India 3 from being too exposed after racking up so many kills. Of course, later on, the soviets tried to get a hind on that town/hill.
OK, great. So now I'm waiting for "ARMORED BRIGADE - WWII - Ostfront" to come. With the graphics and effects of "Gates of Hell - Ostfront" the turn based mode with replay function from "COMBAT MISSION" and a campaign map nearly as huge as it is in "Hearts of Iron IV".
I know it's their first 3d game but 3D models are ass, it's 2024, and textures instead of actual modeled wheels and tracks? Combat Mission series is the way to go :)
Will you be getting Armored Brigade 2? Let us know below!
More than likely😊
This game looks nice, I might get it :3
I checked Matrix store, and I didn't see it released quite yet
Yeah !

Completely agree. Finding LOS in the original was a complicated affair. This...this is perfect.

Thank you! 10 thumbs up. I will likely buy this game. I have the previous version, too.
I am not a huge fan of RTS games, but I really enjoyed watching this video. I will give this game a shot once it comes out on Steam.
It's not a RTS. It's not about strategy at all. It's about tactics.
Waiting for it to release on steam sadly it's in 2025

AHHH, I’ve been waiting for this title since the first Steam post on the first Armored Brigade’s news page!
Good video! Pretty sure the crew of India-3 would be getting some medals for that performance.
Do I like armoured warfare? No not at all, it's horrific and disgusting.
Do i like games about armoured warfare? Yes absolutely!
Would like to see more of this game on your channel, could cook up some really cool scenarios

So it's just a bunch of randomly generated missions? Is there a dynamic campaign with units veterancy and such?
No, there are pre-made missions that you can do. And yes there is a dynamic campaign that you generate and customize with.
Rlly gives me those Graviteam RTSs vibes
This is slightly inaccurate because the M1A1’s didn’t start production until 1986

Good video. Like you I bought the first one and expansions but only wound up dabbling in it. Is there a discount for those who bought the first one?
No.
Old school Avalon Hill gamer here. Do you think this game can be played on a laptop or better on a large monitor?
It should. Best to check the system requirements. I imagine it might be more cpu heavy.
Surprised there is like no change to the UI.
worth it for the 3d view imo ties it all together very well. its like if combat mission looked like it was made this millennia
