I love Natalia Osipova very much, but the interpretation of Giselle imposed on her always reminds me of a character (Olympia) from Hoffman's fairy tales. Artificial excitement, uncharacteristic of a young, naive girl in principle. (well, if she is not Adriana Lecouvreur from birth)
@helenacarvalho2596 she's come on leaps and bounds over the years and is great with her partner mathew ball. Such a great actress with such a varied repertoire. We have great dancers. Steven macrae is incredible and came back thank God from a serious injury. Dancers at the royal are so versatile. Sahra lamb is I think the oldest of the top female dancers but my God she can still put on a great performance.
Hello ! about the third ballet with Reece Clark at 2:22, I thought that it was "other dances " also from Jerome Robbins/Frederic Chopin, not "Dance at a gathering" ? can you confirm if I am making a mistake or not ? thanks (it is very beautiful anyway !)
Hiya, Glad you like the video! They are very similar so I too, get confused sometimes! In answer to your question… I got this clip from the Royal Ballet and Opera, “Dances at a Gathering”. This particular pas de Deux is performed at the 7 minute mark of the ballet and casting sheet wise, their roles are “pink” female, “purple” male. I’ve attached a link… They are quite similar but there are some differences within the choreography and music. Music wise, Dances at a gathering compromises of 18 piano pieces by Chopin including waltz, mazurkas, and études, whereas ‘Other Dances’ is 4 Mazurkas and 1 Waltz. Choreography wise, Dances at a Gathering is more focused on humanity, relationships, and character. Whereas, Other Dances is more focused on the dancer technique and artistry. Both are non-narrative pieces though. www.rbo.org.uk/tickets-and-events/dances-at-a-gathering-2020-digital Thank you for your support 😊
@@theroyalballetfan5189 thanks for your answer, the ballet"other dances" was created for Baryshnikov/Makarova and after that danced by Baryshnikov/Gelsey Kirkland, you can find it on YT, but the quality is a little blurry ! anyway the interprets are amazing .....
She is still performing but as a Principal Guest Artist! She won’t be there as often as she has previously but it gives her more freedom! She’s just recently taken to the Royal Ballet and Opera House stage as “The Queen of Hearts” in Christopher Wheeldon’s, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland! Couldn’t agree more though on Calvin Richardson & Steven McRae! Each of them hold a wealth of talent!
Doesn't look like she'll ever make it now as a principal. A real shame. I love her dancing with alexander campbell in the blue bird pas de deux. Always thought it was strange why she never made it.
I know! She has such obvious but at the same time subtle elements in her dance! She has grace and elegance in abundance! I think it will be an unsolved mystery as to why she hasn’t got a Principal title!
Медленные темпы. Из всех солистов выделяется только Наталья Осипова своим высоким профессионализма и проживанием роли! Многих из представленных principals назвать трудно. Вызывают некоторое недоумение и костюмы...
I disagree! Your comment in my opinion couldn’t be further from the truth. Each of these dancers has worked incredibly hard to earn their rank and are well known throughout the world, with people travelling just to see them shine on the stage, as amazingly as they all do. I could name each Principal, as could most fans of the prestigious, Royal Ballet Company.

Wonderful roster of principals - so lucky in London. That Giselle clip with Osipova by the way - chills - she truly danced as if possessed.
Agreed.

Ela incorporou o espírito da Giselle já defunta. Impressionante!
Que bailarina extraordinária!!!!!!!!
Love this video. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 thank you
Qué delicia el tiempo que transcurre en el Ballet ❤
Английский балет зарождали русские! Первые балерины брали русские фамилии, а теперь это очень серьезный и профессиональный коллектив!❤❤❤

The depth, strength and talent in this company at the moment is beyond compare - extraordinary!! ❤ 🙌👏👏👏👏⭐️❤️🔥
So many incredible artists, I cant say I have a favorite. I must add that Steven McRae, Marianela Nunez and Sara Lamb truly moved me.

What a shame the quality of the footage is so poor. What’s that all about then? 🤷♀️
Any particular part? No one else has commented this? Is anyone else experiencing poor quality?
Nah the quality is fine don't worry
@@theroyalballetfan5189 It is perfect.
It is perfect. Maybe check your settings that you have a high enough resolution (quality).
